Totally agree with your point of view! Glad you made this video. So many "9 to 5" people like to tell passive income earners to "go and get a real job" but deep down I feel like many of them don't like what they're doing and would like to earn passive income themselves. I had a friend who was making fun of "passive income" earners while in actuality behind the scenes he was actually planning to escape the 9 to 5 as well. Yet he was telling everyone the 9 to 5 is the way to go. Sometimes someone's true intentions really needs to be questioned and looked into.
I love your honesty- life is short - the life you have allows you time for the important things in life that money can’t buy - I am planning to follow your lifestyle in Brazil -
Hey Nordic Investor, Big fan here! I really appreciate how you transform your life experiences into practical advice. As a Dane who's dealing with ADHD and job stress from a decade-long stint as a Business Analyst, your insights truly resonate with me. My Brazilian wife and I are thinking about a new start in Santa Catarina, though we're tied to São Paulo, where her family is involved in sugar cane farming, and she owns some land. Balancing this with her pharmacy skills, my hobby of writing movie scripts, and my recent stock trading we are searching new ways to improve our life quality. Your videos have been incredibly encouraging and helpful as we navigate these changes. Thanks for sharing your journey-it's a fantastic reminder that life doesn’t always have perfect endings, but there's joy in reshaping the narrative. Cheers, Gorm
I really like this! You. Are correct, I saw a TikTok video where a Brazilian immigrant here in the U.S. talked about how most Americans work themselves to death… (he was standing in front of a cemetery and. Explained that he would not end up that way. And I asked myself the question, what is my motivation, I bought a new car because the one I had was totaled , and buying that car added another years payment onto the note.. fortunately I am paying the car off in the same amount of time as the old car. Because I had an objective to be payment free… by 2026. So that my family can move to Brasil 🇧🇷. And my home will be closer to be paid off as well. So passive income here would sustain our life there as well.
Thanks so much for sharing. I am a Brazilian from the South, from New Hamburg city, but I'm going the opposite way and moving to the US as a engineering trainee at the end of July, seeking to earn enough capital to be able to live of passive income as well. I really like your videos! I hope all in well in your town, given the recent floods. Witt
That will be an experience for you! The local government said that the Porto Alegre airport will only open in December but I think it might be ready sooner so there is a chance you might land in the normal airport.
Hi Nordic Investor! thank you so much for all the info. You’re really great and straight forward in your videos. I would appreciate you talk more about investment. In the USA and Brazil. I’m already investing in the USA but I want hear from you also. Just for your info, I’m going to Brazil after 26 years, only for vacation😍 and your video “ cost leaving in Brazil 2024” helped me so much. Again thank you, Lucinha
great job making these videos! I really appreciate your input and and point of view. I am a US citizen considering move to Brazil because my "namorada" lives in porto Alegre. I just can not see any contact info to ask you a few questions...
Thanks for sharing! I live off my US dividend portfolio in Spain (French who fled France) but I'm looking for a plan B if things get out of hand in Europe... What is the taxation of dividends in Brazil for US stocks? No W8BEN therefore 30% non-recoverable US withholding tax? And then Brazilian taxation on foreign dividends? In any case, your videos on real estate in Santa Catharina make me dream!!!! It's really cheap!!! I'm going to watch your video on visas right away.
Yes you will likely pay 30% US withholding tax on US dividends and in Brazil tax on foreign dividends is 15%. However there is a double taxation agreement between the two countries so you can offset the US tax against the Brazilian tax so you are not taxed twice.
@@nordicinvestor thanks for your Quick reply. Maybe i should moove my US ETF with US taxes in Ireland ETF with 0% of taxes. Just miss to buy a 192k USD flat in Florianopolis for having a permanent visa.
Yes, passive income, what a good idea, but not for me ... I hate everything what has to do with money back and forth and would have to learn from scratch how to do it... I'd need a course for dummies at least...😢

Sounds like a great plan! I would recommend trying to create a couple of passive income streams if possible so you are not totally reliant on one
Good for you man!
I'm hitting argentina for some location arbitrage :)
Build up a pot of cash then move into more passive income streams :)
Sounds like you are on the right track!

Good luck with your move to the US! America is a great country to live and has many opportunities.
Glad some can save themselves. This brazilian still has much work to do. Who knows, maybe I move to Angola or something? Rough.
I will do more videos about reaching financial freedom soon
inspiring video! thanks for sharing. 9-5 sucks and drains energy
Glad you liked it!
Urelatert: Jeg kjøpte flybilletter til Brasil! Lander på militærflyplassen ved Porto Alegre i september. Det blir en annerledes opplevelse😯

Glad you that you like my videos. I will do more videos about investments!
How long did it take to get comfortable with the area you chose to live in Brazil? How many times did you visit before settling?
I visited Brazil 5 times over a couple of years before deciding to move.

Glad you like the videos. I will set up a twitter account soon so you can contact me there or you can ask your questions here
That was really educative. Thanks for That. Is your child is going to private or public school or is better to just do home schooling?
Hi, my daughter does to a private school. Home schooling is not common here in Brazil.
@@nordicinvestor nice that would be great to have a video on expat life in brazil as a family and the education available for expat kids

Where do we find rents in your little town, in Blumenau I guess?
Good websites are imovelweb, vivareal and zapimoveis
Hello great Channel on you tube …do you provide and sort of consultation ? As I am considering the move soon …thank you
Unfortunately at the moment I do not offer this service but maybe in the future
@@nordicinvestor thank u
What is your linkedin?
What do you think of recife pernambuco?
I have only been there on holiday for less than a week and it has very nice beaches but unfortunately there is quite a lot of poverty and crime.
@@nordicinvestor I live in recife, if you live in a nice community you avoid all those
Hi, i saw the video and am so related, do you have any ideas fo beginners that they can start with?
Hi, in my next video I will talk about some investment ideas for beginners.
@@nordicinvestor that will be a life saving , cause i will move to brazil soon and i really need this
Unfortunately too relatable. Really need to find a way to get my family away from this rat race.
Totally agree, escaping the rat race was the best thing I did!

What do you do for a living?
I move to the Brazil and retired. I live off my investments and passive income.
