I live here, so here's are the pros and cons: PROS: • safe; • lots of attractions, such as bars, shows, parks... • mild summers; • one of the best infrastructures that can be found in a pathetic, 3rd-world country, like brazil; • mostly right-wing, good-looking people. CONS: • very expensive cost of living and attractions; • most houses/apartments don't have heating for residents during cold winters; • rains 80% of the time; • ugly men will have a very hard time finding a girlfriend; • 100% of the city's economy depends on tourism; • there are only tourism-related and construction jobs; • few job positions available; • 90% of jobs don't pay well; • some arrogant residents forget they're not in Europe, so they treat outsiders like crap. Why do I live here? Because of the pros and that I work 100% remotely for an american company that pays me well to code.

Depends on the country how you must apply. Some can enter Brazil and do it. But others may need to apply at Brazil consulate in their home country.

Wow! Back in my time school was 1pm until 5:30 pm only. We never had rice and beans every day. We used to say people who are broke eat rice and beans and a fried egg. But you eat differently when you are doing well. Sometimes you eat rice and beans and a steak and a salad. Maybe strogonoff and fries and so on. Salads are very popular as a side dish. Hot meals for both lunch and dinner. Sandwiches are breakfast or tea time food. Also, dinner is much later around 9 pm so you have a 5pm tea, sometimes a 7pm snack or earlier dinner. Your mileage may vary.

I think long term one would be better off using investment visa and buying a property to obtain the visa and just use atm’s to pull money to Brasil on a monthly basis avoiding paying double taxes (USA/Brasil) for the rest of one’s life. I’ll be moving to Gramado/Canela in 2 years.

Am in Recife at the moment - Brazil is a great place for a European in your 50s, excellent affordable health care, decent cheap housing, affordable domestic staff if necessary, cheap Ubers, great social ife , cheap gyms everywhere .....just make sure you've already made your mone before you move. Basic Portugues works fine. Cost living for me has dropped by about an extra 20% in the last year compared to £Sterling.

I'm from Brazil,I lived in overseas for 10 yrs,I can't understand videos like that It says brazilian women are more open,the diference amonst women is the adress,If the woman liked the man,she goes ahead,in my experience some guys from United States,Europe,Australia and New Zealand say the girls keep the distance,they don't talk to the guys,It happens because the guys from these countries don't aproach to them,I watched a video about brazilian man living in Norway and he said It the local guys need to drink a lot in bars to start talking to girls,in Australia and New Zealand I met so many girs in bars,my canadian male friend asked If was possible to take girls from the bars to home because he never did It in his life,about me I was so fast to talk to girls,I used to live in hostels and backpackers in Australia and New Zealand and saw brazilian guys taking european and american girls to the room,even married women,a brazilian man said It in United States he met a american couple and the american husband told him to have sex to his wife and he said It's very common in United States,I think the guys need to aproach more to the girls
