Did I convert it right? In Thailand you only start paying 5% income taxes after 150k Bath (4458 USD) whereas in Brazil it's 27% for those earning more than meagre 800 USD? In SE Asia, including Thailand, one will always be a castrated poodle on temporary basis and will never have a leg to stand on. I know mixed couples, who speak local language with 20YO kids going to school, still no passport and <50% shares in business, tha your money is funding 100%. That business is not embraer, but a massage shop, a-la leaky shed with a curtain. Let alone the passport is not very strong and does not get you anywhere good.

You never know what's going to happen in third world countries and no one will be accountable. You don't want your children to grow up in these countries and struggle to survive.

I love Southern Brasil, from warm, engaging people, to climate, lifestyle, cost-of-living, environment. Learn Português, chill out on the bureaucracy, reset any over-materialistic tendencies. Close to heaven on earth, IMHO.

Brasil lover here, currently in Thailand. For me, Brasil is the one. However, the big difference is safety. As for cost of living, Thailand used to be in a league of its own, more or less. But that has changed. Its NOT as cheap here anymore. As forshopping, i struggle to find what im looking for. To navigate past the fake products is like finding a needle in a haystack.

As a traveler myself I wouldn't expect to be an easy task to get an authentic asian food in a small city in a latino country. It seems more reasonablefor to me that evaluation should follow criterias such as, for example: 'Is the food expensive there?' ,'Is it possible to me to maintain my special diet in this country?', 'Can I cook my prefered food with local ingredients?', 'Are the local/regional food tasteful for my preferences?', etc. If the criterias used for evaluating Brazil for the ease to acquire asian food, for a fair judgement the same logic should be applied to Thai. In this case we should evaluate if it's easy to find LATAM food there as well.

I don't think so, most of the hygienic habits of the people are just the visible dirty, so it's basically "If it doesn't look dirty so it isn't" even if it is non visibly dirty. So you can conclue that the hygienic habits of most people are superficial, so you need to take care a little bit in where you eat outdoor food, otherwise you'll get sick.

Apples and pears. More like apples and koalas, or something. You can´t compare Asia to the Americas. These are such different entities, cultures, everything. In Asia, you will be forever a foreigner, maybe a privileged one, but a foreigner, and an outsider. Is that a way to live?

As a brazilian I must say Thailand. And no, I have never been there.

This is tough choice. However I could add 3 more categories (1.Location, 2. Nightlife, 3. Quality of living). 1. Bangkok is superbly located and is connected to many countries around the world, especially Asian countries. Cheap and short flights to countries such as Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia and more. You can travel cheaply all year round or live in many countries with a base in Bangkok. Brazil is huge, expensive airlines, long-distance travel. 2. Bangkok does not sleep at night 24/7, one of the best place for a single person, I also like the non-conflict culture, zero tolerance for drugs. Brazil is different you have to be careful at all times, much higher risk (guns, drugs). 3. Huge new shopping mall, high technology, innovation, beautiful hotels and apartments. Brazil is at a much lower level and the quality is not high. I think that everyone is different and this is a personal choice also there is no such thing as a perfect country, they all have pros and cons. As far as I am concerned, I would live in both countries for a few months before making a decision and then choose.

A couple things is also important is that first Brazil is one of the safest countries in terms of wars, t&rrorism and natural disasters. Brazil does't like to get involve in wars and have friendly and polity relationship with all neighbors and all countries around the world(With the exception of maybe Israel but is not something big and I believe with time we will be okay with them again). Brazil doesn't have history of t&rrorism and is a normally very liked country. And besides ocasional fires or floods(both are normally human's fault), Brazil doesn't have significant earthquakes, no volcanos, no hurricans, no tsunamis, no blizzards... Second thing is that Brazil is one of BRICS founders, and each day this shows to be the future of economy and is a growing economic power.

I think Brazil is a better option in order to own a property. Tha brazilian legal system is based on european Civil Law and allways respect ownership of a bit mark landareal differently that happens in many places in to Thailand where legislates with a hybrid lawsuit that makes foreigners "a non legitmate" to own and many cases buyers are no allowed to "pivilege of legacy" and send forward to your further generation . Brazil as U said is a huge country with many danger places but many others very quiet with high standard. Admire your honesty and competence (thumbs up for that👍). The difference of score in taxes should be much higher. Besides Thailand being almost a non-dom system and the difference in sales taxes, there's also the tariffs in Brazil to "protect the local industry". See the prices to buy a laptop, cell phone and so on to realize the shocking contrast. Btw was Trump inspired by Brazil and Argentina in implementing tariffs to "protect the local industry" (lol)? I retired in my 30s and lived in both Brazil and Thailand. Your analysis is spot on. Choosing between Brazil and Thailand is VERY personal given how immensely different the two are. Personally, the taxes, tarrifs, etc scared me away from Brazil as a potential long term destination.
