Aketch, you are killing me! I can't remember the last time I harvested millet. I enjoyed harvesting millet as a young girl because during harvesting, that's when women help each other to harvet one garden at a time, open up, share their deepest secrets, laughter, comedy,
I miss all that
Thank you for sharing ❤
What about carrying babies😂 every woman had to be with a baby or pregnant, 😂then we girls was to take care of babies, it was a nice time 😂
@@musimentajustine4383 Oh yes I did that as well, babysitting my siblings and cooking for everyone, Matooke stew (Akatogo)

3:42 Lol girl! I think it's "For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20-21). Thank you so much for reminding me of that quote, let's keep it close in our hearts! God bless you Aketch Joy Winnie!
Yes thank you for quoting the scripture I was trying to remember I needed it

Mkenya here watching from the Netherlands. Big fan! Our staple is maize and beans, but it depends on which tribe you ask. I wish you could show us the grinding & mixing process of the cassava & millet & sorghum. And the different colours the flour has. And perhaps a meal prepared from this flour. But only if you're interested in showing us :) thanks for sharing your lovely videos. They bring joy and cheer!
Most people in Nyanza grow this for food.
The millet and sorghum harvest... ❤'d it !!

I thought that was millet! I love making it like a breakfast porridge. Used it for my little ones, and still do. I remember thinking it was only for my parakeets, until I was taught better! Thank you for continuing to inspire us with your knowledge, beauty and charm ❤❤❤

I love when you randomly break into song while talking! It reminds me exactly of my beautiful friend from Kenya. Always brings a huge smile to my face. Loving these videos of village life. I have been in Tanzania 2 times, each six weeks long, but more in urban areas with only some evenings in villages so didn't get a good sense of what village life might be like. It is a beautiful way to live ❤️❤️

So informative Aketch! Who knew these grains grew on such tall grasses?! May the Lord bless you and your family really good!

It is so nice to see you. When you are at home you have such a beautiful glow about you. It must be your spirit shining through.
I am eating foxtail millet with my breakfast now. I am watching 👀 from Colorado Springs, Colorado
This was great! Hi mom!! Please show more! Like how to process the harvest!
Good work AJW.
God bless you and your family. Amen
BEATIFYLNESS!
Thank you for sharing. I'm familiar with the sorghum plant, the harvest, the drying but I haven't seen a millet plant that short😍. I guess we always planted a different type of millet( shorter than the sorghum but taller than the type of millet you had).
Love your content, would love to see more❤❤❤❤❤.
Glad I found your channel randomly. Teaching me alot ❤
I love education that you give our brothers and sisters
Do you pop the sorghum like popcorn? I believe popped sorghum is mixed into Japanese genmaicha tea. I like plucking the tiny popped kernels and eating them 😛
Bed the birds and other small critters love the sorghum and millet, too. I know they love the bananas when they ripen up on the plants. We have bananas and plantain growing in this region of SoCal and the birds go cray for them
Your skin glows. So much to do with what we eat and so much less to do with topical and cosmetics.
Very cool! If I have a daughter we decided a while back that her name would be Winnie🙂
What a beautiful African woman
You are Amazing!!
I really enjoy this type of vlog❤
Beautiful Aketch !!

Good morning from Florida.
I would like to see the seeds. Then the grinding process. Please.
A joy to watch 😊
I love this channel❤
I wish if you could share a video about how people in your village like to spend evenings! I always most enjoy spending time with my family after work or school, preparing a meal together, eat together and then we would sit and talk (we have the best conversations then) or play cards or just watch something fun on TV before bed. How do you and your family like to spend that time together in the hours after work and school?
More please! You are gorgeous as you are but your pride and love for where you come from make you unforgettable. Thank you!
Wow.....
Love learning from you about harvesting and lifestyle in your beautiful home!
how many people can a field of sorghum/millet sustain, more or less ? this is not a crop that's common in my country. such a beautiful environment you live in aketch.
Thank you for a lovely video ❤
I absolutely like your video. Reminds me home. I'd like to have some millet please :))
My friend grows sorghum in her garden. Fun watching harvest
