Death Valley is no joke. Back in 2010, I drove from Cincinnati to LA in mid August. I stopped in Vegas to stay with a friend and then left early in the morning to LA. I drove through Death Valley without a working air conditioner however, I still had a reliable car. Even with the windows down, it felt like oven air. Ya know the air you feel after opening the oven door from preheating. There were telephone poles every 100 yards with help phones on them. I realized the danger you could be in out there.
As someone who lives in Las Vegas, that Death Valley story is pretty much everyday reality for us now during the heat wave. When you get in your car, you have to sit there for at least five minutes and let the air blow, because otherwise the steering wheel and everything else is too hot to touch. It's fucking brutal out here and I've never wanted to move as much as I do now.

Before I listened here, I listened to Mr. Nightmare's 15-minute video, which was riddled with 4 ads. Then I watched Joel's, which was an hour and it had one ad.. now who's better??
Death Valley is strangely beautiful. The last time we were there it was 110 degrees at 10 am. There are no sounds, no birds, bugs nothing during the day. I love desert but it is more than dangerous for the people who think they know better than mother nature.
I had heat stroke during a horrible heat dome last year. I biked the first day of the heatwave when it was just 99 degrees. However, the next day when it hit 105, I spent too much time in that heat. I was in a place with no AC for a few hours. In that place of the US, most places don't have AC, so when it gets hot there, you often lack the resources you need. Thankfully, I noticed I was getting confused, left the place, came home and took a cold shower for 2 hours. That probably saved my life. Heat stroke sucked. My skin was hot to the touch for 2 weeks. By hot, I mean it felt like a severe fever. I felt so dizzy, I couldn't drive. I had an appointment and they wouldn't let me cancel without problems. It was 101-102 that day and I didn't need any more heat exposure after getting ill from it the day prior. I was exposed to more heat and started feeling wonky and irritable. I thought I was tough, but heat is no joke. Take it seriously, it will screw you up.

On March 20th, my 40 year old son was on a greyhound bus heading to Oklahoma. His blood sugar dropped and he got off the bus in Holbrook AZ and wandered into the desert because he was confused from low blood sugar. He called me, saying he was lost and his phone was dying. That was the last time I heard from him. He has not been found. Unfortunately, the police department in Holbrook didn't believe he was lost in the Arizona desert. The detective just doesn't care. I believe my son died quickly from the heat. I wanted to drive there to look for him but I didn't have a car. I am almost 68 and in poor health so taking a bus wasn't an option and I do not think it will help him if I perish wandering around in the desert.i wouldn't know where to look. “It costs more money to protect us then to fight us” that’s so sad but yet so true. When companies and the fda r deciding what drugs to pass and make legal they’re not really looking at how safe they r they’re looking at how much they’ll make vs how much they’re gonna have to pay in lawsuits and as long as the profits r higher then the payments they will make any drug legal because they don’t care about the ppl only their bank accounts
You would think with all the knowledge about death valley why wouldn't they have things like rest shelter that they could stand underneath maybe with a solar powered phone they can ring and say oh my god I'm in death valley I'm starting to fly like an egg can someone come and save or maybe just block the road so that no one can go on it
