Lived up that way for quite a few years. This drive was one of my favorite weekend destinations. Haven't been up there in such a long time. Really enjoyed touring with you
By the way my blood relatives are from calumet. Alot of the copper mines were still operating in the mid 50s..my dad and my grandfather and myself when I was a little boy would visit the mines. I'll never forget seeing the machinery and seeing those guys come up from the mine. Great times great memories 😊
Good to see you again. I have missed your videos these past three days. I prayed for your safety and good health. God bless and take care. My cancer is kicking my rear these days, so y’all send up some prayers for me. 💙 Jeanette
Jeanette, glad you felt .Ike watching this video...really pretty. All the old wood buildings and awesome, huge lake. Feel strong for the next journey. ❤
Russ nobody bring the travel adventures of small towns and back roads like you and i love it. Please drive safely and keep showing us our beautiful country. We have so much why go anywhere else.
Russ.. just wanted to say I love your videos. I'm 73 years young and love to travel to! I live in Michigan my whole life. Love the upbeat videos you did for this amazing state. Plz keep up the great work! Thank you again for sharing your experiences in this beautiful country we live in. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I hope you go hunting for Lake Superior agates. Welcome to Wisconsin. I'm in Kenosha Wisconsin. Enjoy the weather it's so hot today here. Wisconsin hit a record yesterday! The islands are a must see.
Oh, YEAH! Its always 😁 when I see a new video posted from you. What beautiful areas you find, and the local historical museums are such a treat. THANKS, RUSS!
In the early 80's i stayed in a hand built cabin circa 1920 directly across from basswood island. Half mile hike through the woods on the reservation at midnight. Incredible, propane fridge , wood window protections slid into the walls of the cabin . Sauna in the winter you rolled in snow after sweating up. Oofta !
What beautiful places! Thanks Russ. We really enjoyed seeing this area of Wisconsin for the first time. I watch a RUclips channel called Flour Gold Wizards and he finds gold in the black sands of Lake Superior. Wisconsin has so much to do and see. Keep on a truckin! Stay safe!
Glad your in my neck of the woods!!! Born in Ashland County, raised in Bayfield county. Old highway 13 is beautiful. When I took this same route with my daughter in law from the east coast said it was like being on the ocean. Glad your prompting our beautiful shores. We will be in quartzite in November.
Russ that was another scenic drive. I can imagine this area during the fall with all the beautiful colours. Thanks for visiting the old wooden cabins and the bridge. I always love to hear the histories. Thanks for the lovely trip. Safe travels.
🕊️ Traveling with RVerTV 🛣️🚐 love log cabin, beautiful 🌥️ outdoors 🏞️ fishing 🎣 🤗 stay cool Russ, always Safe Travels 💞 Ps Yes! cook your own food, and have a nice cup of coffee ☕
Glad you finally found some cooler weather. It has been hot just about everywhere, but not here on the Northern California coast where I live. Nice and cool everyday. And we are far enough away from the wildfires too. Life is good! Thanks for showing us Wisconsin, I had no idea it was so green and pretty.
well you surely timed out a perfect weather window. that harbor you visited was like a ghost town didn't see a soul until you travelled to next stop. what a lovely trip, enjoy it Russ you will probably never return. hope you remember it well! thanks for sharing! hearing waves lap on the beach was special too & so clear unexpected. superior only looked tame @ the moment...
I've been that way many times👍I've stopped at that wayside you made coffee at. I found a few little pieces of drift wood. Glad you're enjoying. Wisconsin really is gorgeous 😊 Woods and water everywhere💦🌲
Hello Russ. Took that road every weekend spring, summer and fall going to my boat in Bayfield for years. I sure hope you took the tour boat from Bayfield out to see the Apostle Islands. You would not regret it.
u dont let anybody get bored since u keep on talking ,moreover even if u dont talk u choose a perfect place which is rich of contents where even if u dont talk it works fine .but your voice it make super intresting . your accend of voice is like u are singer of big rock candy mountain ❤❤❤ poem .
What a beautiful part of the country. BTW, I have Russ' Instant Pot cookbook. I've had crockpots for years, but my Instant Pot mini is my first Instant Pot, and it's the perfect size for a single person. I tried it out a few days ago and slow cooked a beef stew. It calculated the cooking time and it came out perfectly. Haven't tried the pressure cooking yet. I've never used a pressure cooker in my life, and need to watch a few videos on how to do it before I try it. But I must say the slow cooker feature worked better than expected, and I'm looking forward to trying some of Russ' recipes.
@@IEchuckie they were at one time. Back when I was a kid there was always some kid at show and tell who would tell the class about the lid coming off Mom's pressure cooker and dinner ending up in the ceiling. That's my mother never allowed one in her house. They're a lot safer now.
what fun to travel with you on roads i've been on a mllion tmes...you almost passed my house! disappointed you didn't film the deep "dip" down crossing the beautiful and famous brule river, just before you got to that left turn that took you to the lake! the rest of 13 out of superior is sort of bland until you get to the lake.
Beautiful video. Wisdom is sure beautiful. My wife was raised at a Camino on Deep Lake near iron River Wisconsin on Hwy 2 the Apple fest in the beginning of October in Bayfield the best fall festival around
28:40 You missed an excellent store stop, Johnson's Store, many many sundries and utilities PLUS a superior smoked fish selection REPEAT a monstrous smoked fish selection. You didn't seem to need it, but other campsters- particularly the ones from Herbster- might find it useful. PLUS did I mention a superb smoked fish selection? 34:17 You should have talked to the guy on the OTR, he told us an interesting story- he'd taken a week off from the campground, up wallyeyeing on the Lake Of The Woods, nice sunny day, his wife calls him to let him know that the campground was getting 75 mph winds off of the Lake. 38:12 Green bldg on the right, another excellent smoked fish place, try the Whitefish livers. Thanks, especially for 56:20, will camp there next time we're up there.
Love your videos. I watched this video and saw you had a back camera. I was really impressed by the quality of the video. Could you tell me the name of the rear view cam you used for the back video. Keep up the great work.

Lake Superior is like a fresh water sea. Lots of interesting facts about Lake superior. Deepest point is 1332 ft, largest lake in the world by surface volume, big storms can create waves up to 25 ft, Lake Superior can have rougher waters than the oceans and the lake rarely freezes over entirely because of how deep it is. Lake Superior is 600 ft above sea level and water only drops 23 ft to Lake Huron.
I paused the video where you were showing the crane. It reminded me of a time when in 1978 when I worked on the water, around the Annapolis Maryland area. My friends operated a marine construction operation. They had a huge crane with a steel spud that had square holes for hands and feet and I would climb up to the top and hook the cap over the pole and a 2000 lb hammer operated by the crane would drive the pole into the bay bottom. Thank you again for the ride along, as I don't drive anymore. I very much enjoy your videos.
Hi Russ, how is the van doing ? Why did you decide on the Mer. Ben. ? I'm looking for a van and can't decide on witch one. Yours or the Ford. I would appreciate any information you can offer. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Technically Lake Superior is an inland sea. You missed Siskiwit Falls right across the road from the marina in Cornucopia which happens to be the farthest northernmost US Post Office in Wisconsin.
The weather along Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin looked to be pleasant. Don't know how far South Russ is traveling, but weather forecasts for the mid West calls for 'HOT' temperatures. I'd think Northern Michigan should have less beastly weather.
I drove around Lake Superior on the Trans-Canada Highway in 1979 (Sault Sainte Marie, White River, Thunder Bay). It was one of the worst trips of my life, unending twisty road, black flies, nothing to see except the lake, etc. I hope the sights are better on the U.S. side of the Lake.(SIGH !). The western part of North America is funnier to visit, really. RICHARD
America the Beautiful !
Hello Russ and everybody from Puerto Rico

Real strong people lived up there. Most of the logging was done in winter. Tough going!

Russ this looks just like Maine. Same scenery we travel throughout the state. Even the barrels snd roadwork, lol.
The fish boils in cornucopia are iconic!!
Loved this video, thank you so much
It looks so nice and beautiful up there right now. I just wonder how cold the winter is and is it snow packed all winter?

A few Finlanders there and they love their saunas

Go see our old RV we sold to the camp hosts at Sand Bay!
What is mounted on the roof of the van?
Dig the rear view cam, and your mellow vibe.
Hi Russ, how is the van doing ? Why did you decide on the Mer. Ben. ? I'm looking for a van and can't decide on witch one. Yours or the Ford. I would appreciate any information you can offer. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Mercedes Diesel is one of the best. but fords are ok too. depends on what you want. Ford is easier to get serviced locally
Thank you, that's what I heard. Good luck with your s and God Bless 🙏
Wisconsin has two seasons: winter and road construction 😅
That is funny! 😂
hahaha. i caught the road construction one for sure
More diesel for ya Russ

Russ where are you from originally?
Russ...please give us time to read the "srory boards" or read them to us if they are hard to see. Thanks!
Know why there called The Apostle Islands? There are twelve of them.
I see someone did donuts at the intersection. I thought that was only in California.
All boats are for "sail" hahaha, that made me laugh
Where are you from?
A covered wagon school bus! Who knew?
Where's your fishing pole? You should eat fish weekly
