This was hands down the best asymmetrical horror game ever made, bugs and all. They managed to really capture the feeling of being in the movie within this game, and in all honestly, I don’t quite understand why they needed to shut down the main server when it still had so many people playing up until its final moments. I play Texas Chainsaw now and it’s much less fun.

You tried The Texas Chain Saw Massacre? It's a lot more stealth focused than combat, but it's a nice successor to Friday 13th. Way better than DbD, that's for sure.
Such a shame. At its height this game was so fun. Every night a buddy of mine from work and I would get on and play and it was a blast. My wife would even get super into it watching me trying to escape Jason, and she hates anything horror related. I knew where Jason's shack was on every map and always used the girl with high stealth to get Pamela's sweater. Aided in killing Jason quite a few times and it was amazing. Still pissed we never got the planned Jason X content!!! RIP Friday the 13th the game.

@ last time I was playing(granted forever ago) people were like glitching and doing weird stuff in the game, it got to a point where you couldn’t just play with people online
So the game was never fun then. Griefing started day 1 and it's why things like marking objective items started, being able to unlock interior doors from either side so items couldn't be locked into the kitchen on packanack and friendly fire was disabled on public lobbies so you couldn't shotgun blast a fellow counselor to death.
I watched a streamer play the game with their friends and it just reminded me of all the fun moments I had with the game I’ll never be able to get that moment again I came back too late
Well that sucks, the only thing I wished they did was added the Jason from Freddy vs. Jason and the 2009 reboot those designs being my favorite but oh well.

This is the problem with a lot of modern games, it’s not like Mario from the ‘90’s on the Super Nintendo that I can pick up now and get the same experience as I did back then. But now you buy a game & 10 years later it’s unplayable. And it’s even worse with digital games, and I bet in 5 years you won’t be able to buy any games physically, the PS6 or 7 won’t even have a disc drive. I just don’t have time to play games, all my free time goes to reading manga, and because I buy so much I need to keep on top of my reading as I’m already overwhelmed with the amount of manga to read. The last game I bought was Red Dead Redemption 2, which I played for over 6 hours every day for 6 months.

You can still play on PS4/PS5, with some minor adjustments to the settings. (No jailbreaking or console modding necessary). Granted the lobbies are as they were before dedicated servers, I.E. if the host quits it kicks everyone from the lobby. But the game, like Jason, is very much alive. They can discontinue "official servers", they can issue "official cease and desist orders", but the true fans will find a way to have their cake and eat it!
Next time Jason, it sucks they had to cut the cord on this because every weekend, it was like getting together with pals to play this and i don't play online games but this was fun as hell. Rip
This was one of the best multiplayer games ever, I have such fond memories of playing it in its prime. I’ll forever be angered that a moronic lawsuit ruined this wonderful game, that had nothing to do with it.

This dam game should’ve had a campaign from both aspects makes no sense since there’s a story of all the classics plus those behind the property dragged out the dam the case instead of realizing the possible success of the game itself which you were able to see from a mile away causing the game to never reach its true goal

TCM follows more DBD in my opinion but TCM is definitely good after time playing it. Im still trying to get over this though it's a legit loss for many. This game had a vibe about it that TCM doesnt catch. None of them do. This was my main one. At this point I have to look into pc for modded servers. Also one of my main problems at this point is they took our jasons for offline play...i can't ever just stroll down memory lane with my Jason's

There’s too many hands involved with Friday the 13th and Adult Jason Vorhees . We all know Victor Miller and Sean Cunningham but you have Paramount that basicly has the license for the name Friday the 13th and they gave up the license of Adult Jason Voorhees to New Line cinema. New Line doesn’t want to make anything because they’re worried they’ll lose money. Anyway this franchise sounds like it’s a mess.

This why rights issues should be clear cut from the very beginning. But i get it because no one want bad content or changes if the original creator did not approve it. Sometimes people want to change something and that change isn't right. I mean nowadays we let people mass produce garbage instead of waiting. At this point i rather have good content than garbage we been seeing.
Proof that lawyers ruin everything. This franchise is likely dead and buried forever based on reading the legal briefs from the multiple court cases. There are so many that have their hands in the pot from a rights perspective and the way the rights are broken up (individuals own portions of the rights eg one guy owns the hockey mask IP, one guy owns the Pamela Boorhees character), I can’t possibly see all parties agreeing to come together on a game or a movie or a series.
Can't even play as the other Jason's now or have any of the kills. All reset. Fuck the lawsuit. I blame the writers pure and simple, should of sorted it out years ago.

I just tried it. When you try to sign in an "play offline mode" option will come up. You can do the single play and the bot modes only.
