First of all, You are selecting efficient employees through a thorough exam, in 3 tiers, prelims, mains and personal interview, they devote time to prepare for that exam, and after selection, they become eligible and efficient to work. A bank's performance is not only dependent on the employee's efficiency, there are other reasons as well, like tight tax system, inflation, higher lending rates, and low income generation. The public is not responsible for banks' NPAs, large corporates are taking loans in thousands of crores and not paying them back.

Is it in Banks only that inefficient staff after the age of 50/55 is serving. If it is not so then GOI Personnel deptt should issue similar instructions to all the Ministries and review of inefficient employees shold be done in all the ministries on a regular basis and inefficient employees should be retired on an ongoing basis in these ministries. Why only Banks employees are being targettd. What is their Crime. At least DFS should have seen what sort of Instructions they are giving and what is going tb its impact on Banking industry. It is simply to destroy Banking Industry or hidden agenda being to privatise Banks and hand over them to Corporates.

With this policy, only honest and persons with integrity who do not agree to do irregular things will be targeted. This will lead to disaster situations in the banks and will result in collapse one day..

With this policy, officers who are honest and persons of integrity will be removed as they will not do irregular things as desired by some higherers. In SBI, I think clerical staff may not be interested in promotion to Officer Cadre as the age criteria for officers is 50 years and for clerks it is 58 years. This policy is going to be proved as disaster for banking sector in future in view of nature of banking job which, perhaps, govt functionaries are not well aware of.
It's a good decision and should be implemented in all ministries a lot of people just taking salaries and doing nothing 😑

A person who works sincerely is not able to work or not willing to work in banks till his retirement age...due to work pressure toxic work culture HR policies and now government. If goi is intended to remove employees in the name of efficiency..there are many who wants to take VRS. Because a person who works with sinceciority will not tolerate these acts from Government even after contributing for 25years of his life.
I don't know why there's not a age limit in ministries, they should already retire on 55th Birthday.
And the ministry should be given to those who are already working in the industry not to the politicians who do not know a single thing about the ministry, they themselves doesn't work , they only give a stamp on the papers that has been made by the senior officials working under the ministry.

All IAS should also be kept on contract. Every year they should meet the targets set for their departments and keep on taking extension for next year.
Why there is full security for Civil Servants and No security for other exam candidates like IBPS , GATE , RRB Other exams of state govts. Afterall everyone has joined after passing a pre requisite exam for such post. What's special in IAS and PCS ???
Just as they are the policymakers they have made all policies in favour of their interests... Same is the case with judiciary. No judge shall be permanent. They should be given extension on the basis of cases solved annually.

This rule is already in place for civil servants.many IRS officers of commissioner rank were forcibly retired in 2019.dopt issued circular regarding pre mature retirement of central government employees.

Yes this rule should be applied everywhere for everyone who is inefficient. And someone who after giving service to the organisation till more than 57 yrs of age thinks that he/she should have work for more 3yrs are undoubtedly the most inefficient one. An inefficient person also should contribute to the nation's progress by taking vrs. And these kinds of inefficient other than physical or mental obligations are mostly seen as chamchas and chugal khurs who often litter the office environment only to make them safe.

The problem is that with advent of AI it is really important for bankers to adapt to technology and update themselves on regular basis. I have seen most senior officers though exerienced stagnate and then either involce themselves in corrupt practices or lose motivation and hence become unproductive. I truly believe that employees withing PSBs are by no means incapable but surely undertrained.

I think the decision by hon'ble finance minister is right. Because, this is not threatening job security before 50 years in SBI and 55 years for other nationalized banks for officeers and for clerical it is 58 and 57 years respectively. That means if after this year one is inefficient to perform he will be retired which is quite different from private sectors. This is essential for giving new opportunities to youth to do the job and also it will facilitate national development. In future, in central government departments also this is going to happen which is really essential. The objective of job should not be only to receive salary idly.

Citizens should review the performance of Govt also. Monthly performance should be judged on the basis of performance of Govt. Supreme Court should be the reviewer of citizens' review.If supreme court also agrees to the review score of citizens then it will have the impact on continuation or discontinuation of Govt.
Or, there may be review system for Ministers at least following the above way or some modified one.

Many PSU bank employees are not efficient. They are hardly working for benefit of customers. This is good initiative to maintain service standards in PSU Banks. Most PSU banks are bleeding losses due to poor performing bank branches. Job security doesnt mean you can keep lazing around without doing work in office. This is giving you chance of 25 years in service before decoding your performance. I feel this review of performance must be done every year not after 25 years of service.
A very good step towards bank employees, this needed to be done very early. At least this could hit their ego. Privatisation should be done on an immediate basis. These government bank employees are very arrogant, always lazy to do work .
