This video settles it for me. 1994 was the best year for Nirvana performing live, though only few performances (sadly), their 1994 performances are some of the most emotional, passionate performances by Kurt I’ve heard.
Kurt & Nirvana were definitely on a steep upward trajectory. Bleach through Unplugged, they only got better & better… adding Dave after Bleach helped & later adding Pat Smear as touring guitarist helped take pressure of Kurt (from ALWAYS playing lead guitar & lead vocals)…. letting him REALLY focus on vocals. If Kurt could’ve made it a few years after 1999, Nirvana would be known as America’s greatest band… in the same league as Led Zeppelin & The Beatles…imho.

There's what sounds like a whisper in the left channel at 1:05 and there's a scream-like sound in the background at 2:14 and the horsey thing at 2:30 sounds perfect with the song. Tremendous, beautiful and ethereal, however since I form my own opinions, sorry livenirvana, I'm going with the Unplugged version as my personal favorite. Though it's easy why this version is so popular.
This was just two months before his death. It surprises me when people say Courtney loved him, their marriage wasn’t stable, Courtney had just cheated on him. And that’s just the tip of the ice berg. Imagine what really drove him to commit suicide...
This was the night that began the final spiral. With broken promises, lies. When she finally did bring the baby to see him in Rome in March he over dosed and the tour was over.
Oh my God how people talk with all certainty in the world about things they don't know... Kurt always sang this song, he even sang with Courtney Love herself. There is NO proof that Courtney cheated on Kurt, and look don't even like her. Only rumors, and rumor for rumor, too, that Kurt was the one who was unfaithful. Everything rumors...
