LYRICS
You can drive, you don’t even know me
I don’t mind, I’ll just take the back seat
Close my eyes, ‘cuz I just need to rest now
I’m so tired, from always running in and out
Get in line, just another repeat
Keep in time, we’re moving to the new beat
Close my eyes, ‘cuz I just need to rest now
I’m so tired, from always running in and out
Of all the places I have gone
And all the faces I have known
They never seem to feel like home
And now it’s time for letting go
I hope to see your smile again
But some day’s far too long of a road
The Art of Letting Go
I may be setting myself up to have to
Walk the streets alone
For letting go
You can drive, I don’t even know me
Take your time, it’s only for the lonely
It’s in your eyes, and I don’t need to rest now
I’m alright, it’s never hard to figure out
Find the time, we don’t need a repeat
Keep in mind, we’re moving to a new beat
A rise in tide, out there is the feelin’
I’m so tired, but only when I’m breathin’
Of all the places I have gone
And all the faces I have known
They never seem to feel like home
And now it’s time for letting go
I hope to see your smile again
But some day’s far too long of a road
The Art of Letting Go
I may be setting myself up to have to
Walk the streets alone
For letting go
I hope to see your smile again
But some day’s far too long of a road
The Art of Letting Go
I may be setting myself up to have to
Walk the streets alone
For letting go
I met Scott Weiland post show at the Town and Country club in Leeds back in the 90's. Offered me a beer and a joint. I accepted the beer! Spotty teen who started playing bass and had dreams of starting a band. He said go for it dude and don't ever be ashamed. Never forget that ever. Nearly 40 now and still seems like yesterday! Love you Brother rip x
I'm amazed how good of a singer jeff is, This song made me cry is that ok.
this guy is a perfect mix of both weiland and bennington. crazy
Lets set the record straight..you've just heard this song, its a new singer, a new writing partner and basically a revamped band in that they have moved on with new blood. Its a brilliant song that is well crafted and chalk full of hooks, smokin performance from each member! My point!?? Its NEW , its KICKASS in everyway and has ZERO FLAWS. Regardless of your love of Weilands vocal and abilities ( I too , was skeptical of new vocalist) to bother comparing the two is absurd. Who is better and all other bullshit is a waste. This IS STP and I for one LOVE IT!! What a fucking great singer, band and song!!
Scott would be absolutely proud, he is probably cheering Jeff on from heaven and protecting his voice. Speak like a guardian angel and live proudly Scott.
This song made me cry.
Man, what a voice. What choices. Wow, this really takes me back. I lose myself in my own story when i hear this. and That guitar section is like george benson meets bill frisell. Could the bass and drums be more perfect? Im taken back by this. Thanks for caring and making such great tunes.
The harmonies in the song are perfect... World needs more songs like this. Great job Mr. Gutt.
deans guitar playing is perfect
THE SPIRIT OF SCOTT WEILAND IS PRESENT IN THIS SONG, AN AMAZING VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY JEFF
"I'm so tired, but only when I'm breathing".
A breath of fresh air. Great album. Great new voice.
Let go the past is just that. STP continues on. This Lad Jeff not trying to fill shoes, just did his homework and it shows. Listen to the guy tell me hes not feeling the pressure. Of all the its not Scott blah, blah, blah, be grateful Sure Scott RIP is glad his legacy will continue, we have more quality music to look forward to.
The guitar solo is AMAZING
I love Dean's guitar on this. Very jazzy.
Beautiful song. Takes me back to the "Tiny music" era, but still fresh.
Lyrics
I like it... saying the art of letting go means something for this band. I'll never forget Scott but there's an art of letting go...
I think Scott would have sung this song the same exact way Jeff did. Great tune! Excited to listen to the whole album on March 16th.
That everyone seems to be commenting that this sounds like a different era of the band is evidence of how good of a song this is. As a fan from the beginning I’ll admit I was skeptical of bringing in a new singer under the STP name but the 3 songs I’ve heard are fantastic. Rock on boys!
