This worked way better than the harsh chemical grout cleaner I bought. My grout looks amazing now. Took a good mopping to get rid of baking soda residue but this is soooo worth it and so much safer too. Thank you !!!
I was astounded at how well this works! It didn't take too much scrubbing with a good grout brush, and by doing it over a few weeks in small sections it was a manageable project. Also, doing it in sections made it easy to simply wipe off the baking soda scum with a wet rage as I proceeded along.
The mixing of soda with vinegar just spoils the two chemicals, you only need to scrub the grout line with soda paste (mix water with soda). You can then scrub the grout line the second time with vinegar, this will make the cleaning work much easier and much much more effective.
yeah Baking soda, very high pH=> soft stain, use first Vinegar is very acid, low pH => HArd stains, use second mixed = about neutral (pH 7) => like soap, but with exfoliant (grains from the paste) Edit: looks like pH neutral is what you need, according to this guy: ruclips.net/video/qaYa4PwpKh8/видео.html
your steam mop did a lot of help... not everybody has them so maybe.. hot water soaked rags would do to finalize the lifting off of dirt and oily grime.. repeat as needed...
Vinegar is fairly acidic and will degrade grout overtime and also remove any applied grout sealant. For regular cleaning, it's recommended to use a neutral pH solution.
@@Greenr0 no it does not....... go learn some chemistry. it liberates co2 and forms Sodium acetate, also go learn what "neutral" ph is..... plus most assclowns do not mix the correct mol weights, so who knows what the results are...... Then there is the secondary reaction against whatever the grout is.... and that can be either silica based or carbonate based......
Now this I will definitely try. I refuse to use harsh chemicals anywhere and these natural products are PERFECT! TY I have a steam mop and can't wait to get it all cleaned up! Thank You!!!! Have you tried this in a shower/tub walls? It's vertical unlike a floor which is horizontal so I didn't know how well it would "stick" to the shower/tub wall but I'm going to give it a try there too!
3 cups water 1/2 cup baking soda 1/3 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup vinegar Also, instead of going out and buying a ketchup bottle (fab if you find one), you can empty out a *plastic water bottle* (use it for one of the three cups of water you need!), poke a hole in the cap, and viola~ Also, a *dish brush* works great 😉 not the round ones, the flat ones where it only has half of the head with bristles. You can angle it better + less likely to splatter the cleaning onto you haha. (not from experience, I think things thru too much & avoided that hahaha). Thanks for the "recipe", works PERFECTLY. It really does take VERY LITTLE effort! My body appreciated it! 😍🙏
Yes would this be good on high end ceramic type floor? Or sorry it’s stone floor. I work at a ceramic store and want to learn all I can to better myself
Hey! I would make a paste of baking soda (baking soda and a bit of water) really scrub the grout lines and then dip the brush in vinegar mixed with lemon juice and scrub again lightly this time
what abot pouring the bakinsoda dry on the grout first, than uuse the liquid ( w/o the BP in it of course) over the dry BP in the grout, i heard tha tmethod is just as effective...
I wouldn’t doubt it. That brush is amazing! But I have tried the brush with other products (mostly sprays) and they don’t get the grout as clean and bright
I came across your channel. I really love you mix some remedies around your house to clean the grout tile on your floor so amazing, I can't wait to do my floors like that. 👍👍👍👍❤
Thank you so much for your video. Just one question. Did you seal it after you did all that work. If so, what sealer did you use. Can you make another video of how to seal the grout after you clean it.
Hi has anyone tried this successfully on dark colored shower floor tiles? Having problem to clean the white soap scums on my dark grey shower floor. Plz help! Thanks in advance
No, no soap needed. Since grout is porous you just need a scrubbing agent (baking soda) and the lemon juice and vinegar together has a chemical reaction that causes the dirt to lift from the surface
baking soda mixed with a little bit of water would make a really good paste to scrub your grout it’ll definitely get the dirt up, the lemon juice helps speeds up the dirt lifting and i think it helps whiten the grout a little bit too
Hi! For hard stains I do the same thing using vinegar but I use a deck brush to scrub the whole tile instead might have to wipe it cleans and the do the process more than once
Arielle thank you but no thank you. I would probably do this if I had not had the terrible experience cleaning my toaster oven, with this type of cleaning recommendation. . I did one of these RUclips baking soda vinegar cleaning solutions to clean my toaster oven. After constantly cleaning up the cleaning solution mess, I am still getting dried up baking soda from where I don't know in the oven. I can just see the mess I would have in my bathroom if I did this. For those that are good at this type of cleaning then More Power to You. But no thanks for me.
Perhaps rule number 1 sunshine!! try cleaning out from under your stove/oven before you take on the cleaning project. It really stands out to those who are very picky about a clean floor and presenting creative idea's on how to keep your floors looking clean and fresh!!
I have used this and it damaged my grout. All of my grout was disintegrated and scratched my ceramic tile. These have been around for years, I will never use products that are not meant for that specific cleaning.
For best results you should use the mix right when you’re making it. Overtime the vinegar and baking soda won’t react to each other anymore making it less powerful to scrub out the dirt

Thank you so much! I just put in white grout in my kitchen so I know I’ll be cleaning it a lot to maintain white!
try placing baking soda on the grout then squirt the vinegar on the baking sodaed grout line👍
Wow. I did do this in my bathroom but I did not use the lemon juice. I will try that. Thx
Let me know how it works for you!
I'm sure glad I saw this bcz my bathroom floor grout really needs a good cleaning.
It really works and helpful! My tile floor is clean and white now! Thank you so much!
Awesome! So glad it helped
@@ArielleThalia My aunt had a very nice bathroom. But often she came in, as I sat on toilet, was that fair ? 😡😱 What do you think ?

Acid plus baking soda becomes neutral.

why don’t you just do it yourself
@@cheeesecake5 🤣 you said it sis! Lol
I tried this last night and it works great!
Yaay!!! Soo worth all the effort, I think it’s time for me to rescrub my grout lines soon
Does this remove grout line white paint??
Very easy to understand and very helpful
Glad it was helpful!

1/2 cup baking soda
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vinegar

It's simple and satisfying - LOVE IT
Yes would this be good on high end ceramic type floor? Or sorry it’s stone floor. I work at a ceramic store and want to learn all I can to better myself
How would you use this for wall bathroom tiles - as I'm assuming it will run down the wall too quickly without penetrating into the grout?
Hey! I would make a paste of baking soda (baking soda and a bit of water) really scrub the grout lines and then dip the brush in vinegar mixed with lemon juice and scrub again lightly this time
I love the clean floors
Oh wow! This is awesome!
does the lemon juice make it better than just the other 2 ingredients?
Yesss. In my opinion it’s what whitens the grout while the vinegar and baking soda is what’s scrubbing the dirt out
what abot pouring the bakinsoda dry on the grout first, than uuse the liquid ( w/o the BP in it of course) over the dry BP in the grout, i heard tha tmethod is just as effective...
Haven’t tried it that way but baking soda is great for scrubbing the dirt up out of the grout. Definitely worth a try!
MML 1
i’ve researched so many ways to do it my head is spinning. my grout is 20 years old.
@@bkirstie thanks kristie, luv2c a steam cleaner nozzle spray on ur grout, latest weapon on dirty grout, u shld do a video, duz steam spray work?
What liquid to pour it? Can diluted vinegar work?
I own the same brush, the blue side is VERY stiff. A lot of your results are probably the action of the brush removing a micro-layer of the grout.
I wouldn’t doubt it. That brush is amazing! But I have tried the brush with other products (mostly sprays) and they don’t get the grout as clean and bright
Hot or warm or cold water? Or it doesn't matter?
Eveeyone connect a mop handle from dollar tree to your brush with duck tape.No knees and back pain!
Need to try this!
There's a grout brush on Amazon that you stand up holding like a mop.
How many cups of water to use in the mixture.
Definitely trying this! Thank you
This mixture is amazing, thanks so much for sharing ❤👍
Yesss! So happy to hear ❤️
Gurl u just saved me like 20$ thanks for the video my love 💓
Yesssss! Love to hear that
does this remove hard water lime scale buildup on bathroom tiles ?.
Very interesting video. I've been searching for something that really works. I am going to give it a try. - God Bless.
I smeared a tile floor with vinegar, how to remove the stains?

Thank you so much for your video. Just one question. Did you seal it after you did all that work. If so, what sealer did you use. Can you make another video of how to seal the grout after you clean it.
Sealing is the key. I used a grout sealer from Home Depot.
@@INTEGRITY273do you mean that we need to use grout sealer to seal the grout after cleaning it with vinegar
I hope this works on the grout in my studio! 3rd owner
Let me know how it goes!
I heard the vinegar will destroy the grout...
Will this also work for cleaning the tile.?
Yes it does! I used it to scrub the tile with a deck brush so you don’t have to bend over
@@ArielleThalia thks
I tried first pour vinegar Alone wait then go in with baking soda and dawn dish liquid and scrub like h$##
This really works thankyou
excellent video. i hate chemicals too
Nice work, can we make large portion an store the solution ?
No, this mixture doesn’t have any preservatives so the reaction that’s happening with the baking soda and vinegar won’t last

no dish soap? and wat did the lemon do?
No, no soap needed. Since grout is porous you just need a scrubbing agent (baking soda) and the lemon juice and vinegar together has a chemical reaction that causes the dirt to lift from the surface
I'll give it a try.
What steam mop did you have ?

Where can you purchase the applicator bottle used
I bought it at Walmart for 98 cents. I’ve also seen it at dollar tree
now try on vertical tiles.
Good job👍👍
Both product cut each when mix
I will be trying this
Hmm it mostly worked but I still saw some dark lines I’ll stick to bleach
Would it be alright if I dont have any lemon juice?
Lemon juice just lightens
Thank you for sharing
if i don’t have lemon juice, will it still work?
baking soda mixed with a little bit of water would make a really good paste to scrub your grout it’ll definitely get the dirt up, the lemon juice helps speeds up the dirt lifting and i think it helps whiten the grout a little bit too
Lemon juice makes it all smell fresh again. 😊
Can this remedy use on rough tiles to remove the grout from almost all over it?
Hello! Is this safe for glazed porcelain tiles too??
Hey! It should be since baking soda isn’t abrasive.be careful with the brush you use
How to remove baking soda marks om floor i cant scrub it how can i get rid of it ?
I moped after I did the grout cleaning. I used a steam mop
Vinegar Will damage the grout over time so the grout get lose and you need to fill new grout in.
That is what I am concerning. Vinegar seems to destroy some surface easily
Wow! This is exactly what I am after, thanks for sharing!
Hello ma please would you recommend vinegar or hydrogen peroxide for serious stains on my tiles

Oh noo it’s gone with one pass for me. Try using boiling hot water
How often do you repeat this process?
Whenever I see it get dark again. Personally I clean my grout once a year

Baking soda is alkaline. Vinegar and lemon juice are acidic. Seems that they would neutralize each other.
That's the purpose.its the oxidizing reaction that removes the dirt.
Great information but why do people feel the need to put music in the videos
Baking soda n peroxide works better in 15 min
I’ll give it a try! Thank you
Can I skip the lemon?
Yes definitely but I think it works better with it

That's why i never throw away old tooth brushes...... even you use to clean around the base of the toilet... you still get 1 use....
Better but still not 100% though
