Very nice mate. I showed this to my neighbour and he just did the same thing and now he's really happy with how his yard looks and it really improved his outlook on life. Cheers
Thanks a lot Carl!!! So glad you liked not and it was helpful!!! Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with the video, god your neighbour had a good result and is happy! Such a nice thing to share, thank you.
If you do use 7mm ply be sure to get it down soon to pouring as to avoid warping, and use heaps of pegs (more than I did!) to strengthen to maintain desired shape when weight of concrete is in the form 😊
@@lawndreams5952 many thanks for the tip! Im all straight edges, no curves - so I'll go with 11mm. I'll reo mine as large tree's on the way. I'll have to read up on expansion joints. Many thanks, your video has helped me get my head around it! 👍👍
Thanks a lot!! Really appreciate the comment. Mate give it a crack! I winged it and it came out acceptable. Only thing is if you try it get more stakes along the form and maybe a thicker ply to protect from warping/curves. Good luck 🤙🏽
Thanks for watching mate glad you liked it. Yeah there’s a bit in it hey but all worth while when it comes time to zing around those edges with an edge blade
Looks great mate, I just did my edging the other day as well. Looking forward to seeing how your front comes up over the growing season. Are you going to do a renovation vid on ya buffalo?
Thanks a lot man! I had only done the end of my driveway and footing for roller gate when I did my drainage out front. They were simple square forms with thicker wood so this was a bit of a first. Gotta love youtube right!? 😆
☀️Looking great! What type cement did you use? I noticed no steel in the forms. Did you add expansion joints? Sorry with all the questions, but I was considering doing something similar. 😎
25MPa concrete with 14mm ag. Usually used in foot paths, drive ways, floor slabs etc so pretty strong. So far so good without the control joints and reo 🤞🏻 has settled well but if it cracks so will I haha
My thinking behind no reo was not having trees/roots anywhere close (could be a short sighted view) to lift and twist the edge. As for the control joints...well..best practice says I should have added them to avoid cracking when it’s drying, I finished the job and kind of forgot to 😆 so far so good 😊🤞🏻
@@lawndreams5952 depends on how reactive your soil is. Any clay? If so it will crack for sure. Shrinkage cracks could take up to 28 days to appear also.. the CJ's or saw cut joins are less about "avoiding cracking" and more about directing the crack to occur in the deliberate weak point you've created, where it will be hidden. Reinforcement will only ever reduce the size of the cracks anyway, and would need to be kept 50mm away from the sides and bottom of the concrete, so you'd have only been able to put 1 or 2 N12 rods in there anyway.
Thanks mate glad you liked it!! It’s doing pretty well actually. Had 2 slight haircuts but wear patches covering over and greening up well. Will put something up soon 👍
Thanks mate. Struggling for creative motivation at the moment with lockdown, working on computer from home in my bedroom, to edit at night. But hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for your support.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL work done here!
Cheers ✌🏻
Nice work on the forms! Mow strip turned out great!!

Awesome job! I'm planning on doing edges myself but thinking of just using brick pavers as I dont think I can do what you just did.

Great work, looks great! How many metres was the length of the mowing strip and how much did it all cost?
Fantastic! I never considered how much all the wood forms cost.

Nice great input! Should I hit em with the diamond saw you reckon? I do have a bit of clay about!@videokunce
@@lawndreams5952 Probably a good idea, the longer you wait the harder it will be. Your 25MPa is achieved at 28 days...
Hows things going there mate? Been awhile since a video?
Great vid mate. How’s the buff going after the cool season?

Why doesn’t anyone put irrigation in with the concrete? Always wanted to know
That’s a really good question mate! Maybe access to sprinkler bodies of they needed replacement? 🤔 thanks for watching
That's weird . . . How did you get the concrete truck to stay there that long ?? ;)
Haha I know right!? Wasn’t time lapse in real life 🤔
Lmfao the music
Maybe if I was doing artificial turf
Si si 🤔
