Hey brother! I found your video and I just did this myself bro after following your video instructions! thank you brother for sharing your knowledge to the inexperienced.
Quick question... what did you end up using to set the pavers in? I was looking online, did not see "Sand & Cement" like what was use on this video... How did it turn out? We are about to do about the same project at home, but it is more for a walk path.
When I heard you say "sand and cement" I thought you were talking about two separate things until I saw the bags. Here in the U.S. sand and cement is called Portland Cement. Looks amazing!
Probably the best explained step by step video I have ever watched man! Spoke well, made us simple instructions with everything needed to understand to get the job done, Great Aussie video!
Been thinking about paying someone to do it for me. That looks Beautiful. I'm into giving it a go. I was told to put sand under the weed mat. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
Easy and beautiful! I believe an non-expert like me would mix the cement in a recipient before laying on the floor. Your method saves a lot of time. Thanks for sharing.
Kudos to you for the dry pour! I'm a huge fan and built an entire staircase dry pouring. Your edging technique will be implemented this weekend at my house! Thank u!
Wow, the edging looks fantastic! Excellent step-by-step video -- thank you for posting it! This will be the model for a summer project for me. Although not being a professional like you, I can safely say it will probably take me more than half or three-quarters of a day. LOL. :) I appreciate you taking the time share your approach to this project.
I must say you've made this look really easy and like I can actually do it too! I have always been intimidated to try something like this because of the levelling and thinking i would fudge it up but this looks easy enough so might try it! thank you!
We women like to do construction in garden but takes hours for Home Depot people to tell you about the use of material and we need like in cooking shows write the name of material we need if you can give an idea of prices too would helps tons thank you so much 😊
I’m currently planning something like this but applying it dry is different. I wonder whether there’s the potential to leave some dry concrete directly under the paver?
I have a vision for my small backyard in my new house, I’m definitely not gonna do it on my own because although I’m going a simple route, I still need to get the entire surface leveled while allowing drainage to the pre routed drain path. But I love this touch, might run those rocks with small desert plants to survive the Vegas weather
Thanks a lot, Bill for this very informative and easy to follow video. This has given me great confidence to embark to do some gardening jobs as I am retired now. God Bless you. Your explaining method is great to follow.
Stone/pebble mulch looks good for one season only. Dirt, pine needles, leaves and weeds will accumulate, and is quite difficult to get out, especially around plants. Every spring I have rake the stones back and forth to loosen up the debris, while hubby uses a leaf blower to blow everything out of the bed.
I would have laid the blocks on Sharp Sand and raking in just a couple of bags of cement then wetted the back of the stones and sunk them in, looks expensive, great video
Thanks for this video it really helps. I’m working on a similar project and my only question is will the plant still grow despite putting the weed membrane and stones around it right as it’s being planted. I assume the roots of the plant will need some light? Please pardon my lack of knowledge.
Hi, wondering if this will attract termites considering the bed is against the exterior wall? Asking because I wanna do the same at my house and worried of termite infestation. 😳 Any tips and tricks to help?
Good idea and beautiful result!, However, I do not suggest doing this if you are in an area where the temperature goes below 0 degrees celcius because everything will start to deteriorate after the first winter.
This is a perfect solution to the gap beneath my wood privacy fence. But I don’t think we have “Sand and Cement” here where I live. Is “Quikrete” the same thing? Or is this the equivalent to masonry mortar?
thank you...learnt a tip...only thing i would have done differently is to install the weedmat underneath the blocks and vertically stick it in against the house wall...because grass always finds a way through a small crack 😊 and when you get rid of that grass by pulling it it lifts the mat and displace the stones...but to each their own way is their way😁 but i am thankful for the tip in the dry placement...
As someone who has edged for thousands of hours, this video makes me love edging even more
Finally! Someone that simplifies this process! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
You’re welcome 👍
I was planning to pay someone to do this in my garden.
Not now, now im going to do it myself, thank you
purpose of this video 👍🏿👍🏿

Good to know... I was thinking the same thing. I've always heard ppl using mortar for this. Sand and cement or Portland cement sounds easy..
Probably the best explained step by step video I have ever watched man! Spoke well, made us simple instructions with everything needed to understand to get the job done, Great Aussie video!

Easy and beautiful!

Looks amazing and the tip about put it down dry then add the water later, great tip!!
The pavers make a nice neat border for the shrubs and the white stones make the entire area pop.
Kudos to you for the dry pour! I'm a huge fan and built an entire staircase dry pouring. Your edging technique will be implemented this weekend at my house! Thank u!
great video.....easy to understand and no complicated explaining...straight forward....!!!!!!!
Wanted to install some pavers at my new house, just showed me how to do it the easy and simple way. Thanks

Thanks Bill! Now I know what to do with the side of my garage.
Love the choice of gardenias. Got them lining the path leading up to my verandah with camellias so there's always flowers blooming year round.
👍
Awesome Bill, the cement hack is excellent, saved me from pre mixing in my wheelbarrow and the horrible clean up. Excellent
Never seen a little string level like that! Very cool! 👍💯⚖️
Really clean work! 👍👍👍
Looks great classy and sophisticated.💯💯💯
That was a very good presentation. It was easy to follow and looked good. Thank you.
It’s the white stone that makes it look so fantastic

This looks expensive, judging from the amount of cement but looks worth it. It really looks lovely tho thanks for the tip😍
He must have good weather where he lives . His grass is phenomenal.
Gardening is satisfying!
I must say you've made this look really easy and like I can actually do it too! I have always been intimidated to try something like this because of the levelling and thinking i would fudge it up but this looks easy enough so might try it! thank you!
Great hearing familiar tone over this equally great DIY instruction. Thank you.
A really good-looking job Bill.

beautifu video, its crystal clear explanation from beginning up to the end,.
4:30 and hope it don't rain 😝
Great guide though I might just use this!
I love this video, don't like anything blocking windows.
Great video and well explained. However, doesn't the sand and cement mix turn into liquid concrete with water and that could cause the pavers to move?
It will.
I’m currently planning something like this but applying it dry is different. I wonder whether there’s the potential to leave some dry concrete directly under the paver?
@@mesozoicmusic The cement mix will definitely not be mixed well, I'm not convinced that it will be stable down the track.
Looks amazing!! Well done. Thanks for giving me some inspiration for my own garden x
Unreal!!!!
Thanks to your video I laid my pathway up to my house. Very simple way of DIY paving

This looks great. Love it especially for A DIY

Agreed. Looks awesome now but it gets messy fast.
I just tiger torch it in the winter after the fall leaf drop. Wet it first or after wet weather
That is true especially the white gravel or rock
Did you use landscaping fabric for weeds?
whats the difference between sand and cement and mortar.
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing 😍😍
De Plans Look Great
I loved watching this video
I would have laid the blocks on Sharp Sand and raking in just a couple of bags of cement then wetted the back of the stones and sunk them in, looks expensive, great video

you got so killa knowledge mate.
It looks beautiful and it is tempting to give it a try. Don't you need reinforcement to keep the cement from cracking ?
Great instructional "How to". Very easy to understand and follow. Thanks for sharing 👍
Did the sand/cement sink when you added water
So nice !
This was a fantastic tutorial! Can’t wait to try it. Thanks 🤗🤓

Good job there 👏
