Hey Wes! That was super helpful. Does the funnel work if you warm up the audience with a few content ads first, instead of just one content ad then straight to remarketing?
Hey Soojee, yes, this can definitely work with a few content ads, but I wouldn't run the follow-up content ads as retargeting... this will usually cause your audience to get too small. I'd just run some top level content ads to the same audience, and let them overlap a bit. Hope that helps!
Excuse my ignorance, but is each ad created in the Facebook pages? And how do you add an exit intent popup. Thanks I started following you about a month ago. Great content.🤑🤑🤑
Hey Adrian, ads are actually created in Facebook's Ads Manager, not from the page itself. I do plan on creating a start-to-finish Facebook ad tutorial soon. As far as exit intent popups, you can either have your developer create one from scratch, or if you're on wordpress, here's a list of 20 good plugins you can quickly and easily add yourself: wpbuffs.com/exit-intent-popup-plugins-for-wordpress/
The Deep End that is true. If your custom audience is too small, you’ll pay a fortune for the clicks.
This was great, I been tryin to find out about "how can i improve my email marketing?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Cayehimmid Eminent Convenience - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off product for discovering how to use email marketing to make money from home minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got great results with it.
Thank you so much for this! I have been running ads and playing around, but this really helps me have a good focus and plan.
I really like your videos. You are great at explaining, you seem calm and confident and offer great value. And thank you for not having a long glossy intro where we see you in a luxury car or on a yacht with an expensive watch on! (plenty of those on RUclips already). I wish you had a Facebook ad course!
Haha, thanks Elin! You'll never catch me doing "bro marketing"... makes me cringe every time I see it.
I agree! This person is authentic. Again thank you
At last someone who talks calmly and at a pace I can actually listen to and keep up with!
Thx, Arnold! Glad to see you here.
Just subscribed. This is pure gold. Short, detailed, and practical.
I'm going to try this out with my new product.
I'm new to Social Media Marketing and I usually see couple dozen videos about Facebook ads.
The content tought is genuinly amazing. You're the only channel that I've subscribed to. Keep it up.
Thx so much Leo!
This is one of the best video on Facebook ad funnels I’ve watched so far. Thank you. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more awesome content.
Thanks so much Nathalie! Keep watching :)
Great video. No BS. Need more content creators like you on RUclips.
Thx Ankit!
This is excellent! I just finished doing tons of research on strategy and looking at some competition. This confirms my findings and now I'm excited to execute. Thanks for sharing!
Thx Tiffany!
Did it work?
How did it go?
Love your videos. Short and sweet but packed with practical tips. Keep it coming, Wes!
Thx Joey! I always aim to inform as much people as I can by tackling complicated topics and explaining it as simple as I can. Watch out for more videos dropping soon.
Brilliant... thank you for the simplicity and not trying to cloud the technique with unnecessary and irrelevant jargon.
Thx Dylan!
Awesome ... first time someone shared actionable advice on fb ads sales funnel ... kudos to you
Wes you are INCREDIBLE! Love from South Africa
This is more my speed. At our agency, we just do things that we personally would like to see first when introduced to a brand...not go for a hard sell on a download or action first.
I like this style because it is content rich up front. Gets people in if they are interested before pushing for a conversion with your brand. Reminds me of what Amanda Bond promotes!
I second that!
Bond's my girl! She's super smart about all things FB. And yes, when ppl say FB ads don't work for them, its almost always bc they're just trying to push their products or services to a cold audience. It just doesn't work on a small budget.
Great! Finally, I understand how to make a useful funnel with FB Ads. Thank you :))
This is a great video! Thanks for breaking it down so my simple head can understand. I hope you make more sales funnel videos like this one! great work.
Thanks, glad you got a lot out of it!
Hey Wes! Simply loving your content! Thank you.
Hey Nalini Thanks so much!
Great video. Quick and to the point and helps with wrapping my head round keeping my first Facebook sales funnel at a manageable size.
Fantastic! Thanks so much! 😊
In a world filled with FBY (fly-by-night) experts, this really stands out - super practical and effective. cheers man!
Thank you so much! That's so nice of you.
Look, I've been searching the net for some decent bullshit-free tutorial for fbook ads. Most people first making a sales pitch of half an hour and in the end say nothing decent, if only it was the "million of dollars they made". Really happy I encountered this here, because you slam it boss! Thanks, planet earth needs more creatures like you.
Thx Frederik, that's awesome to hear, very happy to help!
Thanks for this video, great ... to the point... I'm going to try for sure... Subscribed! Looking forward to see more valuable content
Awesome, thx Mayita!

Thanks, will do Malcolm!
It's so knowledgeable! Thank you so much!!! 👍
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Really good content!!!
Thank you for your great tips. Do you recommend funnels with landing pages for jewelry companies or should the visitor land on a highly-optimized product details page?
Great content!, just a question: I did a guide on pdf as a lead magnet. So now I'm starting to get leads. Should I just modify and place an ad on the landing page where the lead magnet is now, and then mimic the ad on the offer ad in Facebook and follow the next steps as explained in your video?' Thanks in advance.
Hey this pure gold!!
I just wanna know what your formula to a retargeting video(If you have one) and is ti actually following the person in every app/platform he might be?
Subbed you. Brilliant video and learned something new regarding buzzsumo, which has just given me a few great ideas in just two minutes. Thanks so much!
Anytime Collin, happy to help!
Colin Booth Glad too to learn about Buzzsumo. I’ve also found out about AnswerThePublic.
Great explanation! People always talk about targeting warm leads but they rarely talk about acquiring cold ones! Question, is the offer in the second step a paid offer or more of free lead magnet? Or does that depend on the audience and product/service being offered? If paid, in your experience, at what price point would you defer the sale to continue building trust i.e. at what price point would you give something for free instead to get them into your list
I cant wait to try this! Thanks
LMK how it works out!
Hi Wes, just discovered this very helpful video of yours. I'm all the way from Philippines. Do you have an actual tutorial or sample on create this kind of click funnel or a clickfunnel within the facebook ad itself? Thanks!
very helpful Wes thanks man.
Glad you liked it Marcio. Happy to help! 😁
dude you're the bomb, thanks so much for making this video
Thanks Ben! 😊
👍 One of the best channels on RUclips about Facebook Ads ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm bing watching, LOL 🤣
Wow, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Hi, great video! You mentioned that high ticket items should consider an added step at the end to include a FB Messenger Ad. At what price point is a service considered high ticket? Appreciate your comments, Thanks!
This is a perfect tutorial. Thanks a lot.
You're welcome!
Sound strategy! Thank you 🙏
You bet! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Boom! Super clear explanation, thanks!
Glad you liked it David! Thanks for watching!
For that second retargeting ad. That’s a conversion ad right? For a Shopify e-commerce page, should we lead them to our store page where they get to pick and choose the products (in our case it’s food) or do we bring them to a landing page where we try to convert with 1 item (to limit the options available)?
Truly Amazing video brother
Thanks man! Appreciate it!
Hey Wes! The first one was a traffic campaign. Was the second one conversion or traffic as well? Thanks in advance.
Hi there! I always get a little unsure when blog content is mentioned since I have a physical product (handbags). For the initial blog post ad I'm trying to use your advice and thought '3 Things to Instantly Upgrade any Look' might be a feasible option for this value provided step. What do you think?
Thanks Wes, the video is enlightening. My question is that do you run multiple ads to the pages on that sales funnel or after they land on the content page, they begin to move through the funnel. Thanks
Great step by step guide. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful, Trent! More videos coming soon
Brilliant ! Thank You!
You are welcome Mona! 😊
Wow, Wes! This is just so powerful - and like the other said below - you really have a knack for explaining the topic clearly and to the point! Thanks. I'll be looking up other videos you've done on the FB and funnel topics!
Thx Anthony, that means a lot!
youre a LEGEND dude! cheers from Poland EU!
Haha, I don't know about that, but thanks anyway!!

You're very much welcome!
Super useful, thanks!
Thx! It's my pleasure. More videos dropping soon 😎
Been watching your videos and have subscribed. Thank you so much. I am a little confused though. I watched one of your videos about creating a "Landing Page". Not really sure where I would use it though. In this video you mentioned a "content page" and a "offer page". I'm trying to tie these videos together so I know step by step starting from scratch which is best to use on my existing affiliate site (cowboy boots). Any recommendations? Thanks again!
Hi Wes ! Thank you for providing this! Really helpful. I have one question though, many people advice to send cold traffic to a landing page where they subscribe with their email address BEFORE they get the free content. What is your experience? Get the email first oooor send them directly to the content with an offer ad?
Dude, you are awesome !
Hey, thanks! Really appreciate it! 😊
Amazing Content Man. Very Helpful
Thank you, Hadji!
Really helpful video. Thank you
You're welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Loved this short but informative video, thanks for breaking it down. Do you recommend anything different for a subscription based ecommerce company?
Ecommerce isn't my specialty TBH, but this is a pretty universally applicable Facebook funnel. You're still going to need to offer value up front, then retarget warmer traffic. It should work great for any purpose :)
Love your content! Question..can I run multiple articles at one time then run a retargeting or one article then do a retargeting?
Great video thanks!
Anytime Nathan!
Very awesome video, explained soo good. Well done!!
Thx Jason!
Thanks for the content ma!! Question, I’ve heard that when starting a campaign the objective should be closest to what your goal is. As for me it’s leads.. I’m working with a dental client on a free trial and deciding if I should go straight conversion for leads or view content vs straight traffic since I gotta show results right away on this trial. There’s been a huge debate on pixel seasoning as it not existing. Thoughts and Advice would be great!
Yea, for hte leads objective, I believe that only works with an actual LEAD ad... if it goes to an opt-in page, you'd ideally want conversions, as long as you get 50+ of them a week. Any less and FB's algorithm can't really learn much to improve results.
Wes... Thank you so much for this video. #blessings
Any time Gideon!
Thank you very much for this
You're very welcome, Gen!
@@WesMcDowellInc I dont know if you have more structured tutorial website for sales funnel, I would love to visit
Thanks for share Wes! have you ever tested this funnel and get a positive result? Or else it is just spoken in oral ? thanks
Cool bite-sized tip that's applicable. Thanks
You're welcome!
thank you !!
I'm still really confused about the structure of things. To gain a cold audience vs a warm audience, would you use the same ad and landing page for conversion? Or would o have the cold audience end up at one place, then warm them up at another? So far no one has explained this part to me.
I really love your videos. I just wanna ask How much do i pay in making of FB ads? Hows that work?
I found this SUPER helpful, but hoping you can provide any tweaking for local service based businesses (I work for my family dry cleaning business)...does this still apply? Assuming very specific targeting is the key thing here?
very useful video! for step 1, would an instant experience ad instead of ad to my blog get more clicks? (same content on FB instant experience as my blog). I'm thinking FB doesn't want people to get off FB and so is motivated to show the ad to an instant exp more than an ad to my blog. i could then retarget those people who clicked my instant exp ad.... Or should i just stick to setting ads to my blog? ty v much!
Hey man, just found your channel yesterday and I gotta say the content is very appealing. Absolutely valuable.
I still got critics/feedback on one thing I wish your channel had:
More actual step-by-step Visuals (of actually showing what you are talking about).
Don't get me wrong, your videos are valuable. The problem is, for a guy like me who is bench-watching youtube because his life situation got suddenly more stressful (which will likely appeal to a lot of your target audience), there is a LOT of input from information in general.
I mean. People who teached their goal of financial independence may have some kind of regular scheduled day. But a hungry guy who just wants to change his situation no matter what, he is about to consume information everywhere. Read books, watch videos, go through courses, try out stuff, learn from mistakes etc etc. All that, while going to a 9to5 and/or other personal stuff where you get input.
Following stuff and remembering it is absolutely way easier when you see it visually done in front of you. Like. Not only a few snippets here and there.
I mean actually done in front of you.
For example I watched your FB ads video with the quiz. Which was absolute gold. But I didn't really see the program in use. There was no going-through process of the quiz and making your own one within however long that might take. I would have definitely stayed. I mean if I already watch a 10min video about something valuable (which you make sure is in every one of your touch points as far as I can tell), then it is also worth making the videos more tutorial-like with step by step showing the process of setting it up. I believe that would skyrocket your channel growth.
It's just hard to comprehend the value of the idea if the viewer has got to make it up in his own mind.
Kinda like a video or image-ad is way more likely to convert than just a generic word. Not that people are lazy. It just gives them an idea way faster if it is something for them or not. Which Ultimately results in more watch time on your channel. And more value for the audience.
Don't want to be rude or something. I am grateful that I found you. And you seem like an honest guy who cares for the audience and as charismatic as to make me think that it would be worth my time to write such a long comment, cause he at least would give it a thought.
So hope that helps you provide even more value for us :D
Peace
Thank you so much, Sebastian for your input! I really appreciate it, man. I'll keep that in mind.
@@WesMcDowellInc impressive how you keep up with them comments. Wish you all the best. And thanks for the answer
For the second step and the retargeting step, Do you mean on a separate landing page? (when you talk about the pop ups and pixel). So does that mean the 4th step (the retargeting ad) is that a landing page or an actual fb ad?
Thanks Great Stuff! :)
Hey Wes! Thank you so much for sharing such valuable information. I am a local wedding photographer who's goal is to book 30 clients per year. I am currently targeting females aged 21-35 newly engaged within the last 6 months. The total size of this audience is 7,700. Is this too small? Is the reach objective the best in this case?
Hi Wes,
You are such an underrated STAR. I love your content. It's superrrrr helpful. Do you provide any free/paid course on advertising, marketing, Facebook ads etc.
Thanks so much! Unfortunately, I don't provide paid course for any of that but I have a podcast that I talk about those things. :)
Really Good information. Thanks Bro
You're welcome! Glad to have you here.
Amazing content
Thanks for the great content! I would like to know what is the price range for high ticket product?
Great aesthetic . Subscribed.
Thx Sean!
Awesome man!! So if you consider using traffic ad objective first when does a lead conversion campaign start? Or does it ever if this route is doing well..
If you're getting enough conversions (50+/week) then you can use that as the objective. But I find with smaller budgets and a retargeting audience, its hard to rack up those kind of numbers, that's why I say traffic in that case.
Awesome!!
Hey Wes! I’ve been watching a lot of your videos. Thank you for the great content. The question I have is that on top of the funnel, if you run traffic objective, wouldn’t Facebook find the type of users that visit a lot of websites but rarely purchase from ads? I know Facebook’s algorithm is really good at putting users into different buckets. And we run traffic first and conversion later, wouldn’t that lower conversion rate at a lower funnel because those people you put in the funnel are unlikely to actually buy?
I would try for engagement vs traffic-- that increases the chances of people interested in the ad or what you're offering :)
Hey mate, that looks great, just one question, I'm Into the dancing event industry so my final goal is selling the ticket. Would you use a unique funnel from warming up the audience to the ticketing selling or you would recommend to breakdown the main goal to 2/3 sub goals and use one funnel per each subgoal? For example I used to drive the audience to subscribe to receive my newsletter the,nof course, I send newsletter to convert the lead to a selling, now would you use one funnel to warm map, remarketing and drive the people to subscribe and then another funnel do drive the subscribers to the selling or else you will use only one funnel for all?Cheers
Hi Wes, currently working on implementing this strategy. Quick question, why do you run the second ad with the traffic objective and not conversion?
Just a matter of what's realistic... Most small businesses have smaller sized budgets, and when you're running a retargeting ad, it's a smaller audience. In order to optimize for conversions, you need 50+ conversions per week for the algorithm to do its job. If you can get that, do conversions. If not, you need to "back out" a step and just go for the next best action (traffic). Make sense?
Hey very nice information
hi there! one more question: how do you put the pixel on a webpage? is it automatic? TIA!
Excellent video, but I didn't understand the last stop very well. Would that add show up in between messages on Messenger? Because you make it sounds like it's directly sent to the user's inbox
