The character artwork was impressive, good voices, a solid story that kept the mystery going with a nice surprise ending. ...and we got the origin of the character to boot! That was great!
I used to watch this on a vhf channel when I was a kid long before cable or satellite TV Vhf 😂 the channel would come on in the afternoon and sign off around midnight. Only 3 channels period back in the day. 😂😂 Good Ole Days!!
Thank you! Every day after school I would run home and hit the floor in front of the TV (on one of only 3 channels) to watch the Marvel Superhero shows : ) Wonderful memories! Much Peace and Love to All : )
Yep! In the NYC metro area in the 1970s, I remember the show, in second-run syndication then, being listed as "Marvel Men." The station I watched these on didn't show the "Marvel Superheroes" banner intro. They just went right into the three episodes it showed that weekday.
I loved watching these shows. Each day featured a different hero. I always remembered that cap came on on Mondays. I thought that iron man and Namor had the coolest intros. Back then you could see the comic book style art work because it was stop action shots. But I loved it.
One of my favorite anti-Heroes, he was cooler than Aquaman to me. It was hard to fine his Comicbook on Newsstands when I was a kid. Thanks for the flashback..
This was a daily series in the sixties ( was on WOR channel 9 in NYC at 7:00 PM). Monday - Captain America Tuesday - Hulk Wednesday - Iron Man Thursday - Thor Friday - Sub Mariner.
Great memory. And they showed Thor on a Thursday (Thor's Day). In my market I got to watch it on an early morning kids show along with Popeye and the Three Stooges.
OMG, I used to watch this when I was a kid in Puerto Rico! You’re right, they showed different characters on different days. I was too small to notice that they showed them in any particular order. I just used to sit in front of the tv praying they were showing Thor. My ranking then was Thor, Namor, Captain America, Hulk, and Iron Man. I was 4 in 1966, but I’m sure it took at least a year to dub all those cartoons into Spanish. The thing is, they didn’t dub the theme songs (Thank God!), so hearing them now brings back memories of sitting in front of the t.v. with a box of Oreos. Funny how Iron Man was last on my list when I was little. After watching the first MCU movie with Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man became one of my all time favorites.
My favorite Sub-Mariner episode. Thank you for putting it up on youtube. I remember being in kindergarten in 1966, and watching The Marvel Cartoons of Sub-Mariner, Mighty Thor, Fantastic Four and Captain America and Spider-Man. Jack Kirby is a great artist. Thank you, too Stan Lee! Goes to show you that all you need is a a great story, dialogue and great background music. Great how the Marvel takes place in New York so the other Marvel heroes and villans knew of each other and sooner or later encounter one another at some point. Even the cartoon characters have NY accents.
Namor is one of my favorite Marvel anti heroes! He’s my childhood hero next to ALL of the Marvel Universe. I saw Black Panther Wakanda Forever and Tenoch Huerta did a great job playing Namor! IMPERIUS REX!!🌊🌊
First Cop: "How're we gonna get him outta there?" Second Cop: "Same as we would with any creature of the sea -- with a net!" First Cop: "Annette? She's on vacation!"

Police Captain: "He has little love for surface people!" Well, come on Captain. Sticking a gun in his face, isn't 'exactly' going to do much, to make him like ya!

I was in 2nd grade when this came on in the late 60s I would run 4 blocks not to miss an episode, because all my friend would watch it. . Watching it now is great, it didnt dumb down the dialog for kids, and Namor is quite a proud man, Asian possibly? Lady Dorma is a damsel in distress here but it was the 60s
This is classic I grew up on this in the 70s today's superhero cartoons are garbage compared to this! As a genX I'm glad I was born then a grew up in those times not now in this day in age! 👍
For those who don’t know- Namor was created in 1939 (the very FIRST marvel hero ever to appear in a comic book. He’s also known as “marvel’s mightiest mutant.”)In 1941, DC came out with Aquaman, a blatant rip-off of Prince Namor. Aside from Aquaman’s ability to control a sea life telepathically, their stories and abilities are almost identical. Both are kings of Atlantis, both are the sons of an Atlantean woman and a human male, have superior strength and speed. One of the few examples of DC taking from Marvel.
In the name of Father Neptune, now does Namor the First, Prince of Atlantis, Emperor of the Deep, Lord of the Seven Seas and Supreme Commander of the undersea legions, duly proclaim for all to witness... the victory is truly mine! Let no man deny that Namor is, and ever shall be, Prince of the Blood!
I'm now 53 and watched this as a kid. I don't understand why submariner isn't included in the recent avenger's movies. He's part of the original avenger's.
This is real. There is an entire world outside of our Earth pond that lives strictly undwrwater. The aquatic Moors, hence the name..Namur. We need to revisit these cartoons. Prince Namor and the Hulk over the years have had EPIC battles in the Marvel Universe. My best battle between them was written by Stan Lee. If anybody should give an account of their powers it should be. TALES TO ASTONISH#100 both Hulk and Namor fought along the eastern seaboard. In Namor's element of the water, under sea and no footing for leverage the Hulk cannot land a deciding blow...but when Namor connects with a punch, it knocked the Hulk clear from the ocean depths on land...knocked cold as he reverted back to Banner
