    The Marvel Super Heroes is an American and Canadian-made animated television series starring five comic-book superheroes from Marvel Comics. It was first syndicated, on U.S. television, in 1966.
    Produced by Grantray-Lawrence Animation, headed by Grant Simmons, Ray Patterson and Robert Lawrence, it was an umbrella series of five segments, each approximately seven minutes long, broadcast on local television stations that aired the show at different times. The series ran initially as a half-hour program made up of three seven-minute segments of a single superhero, separated by a short description of one of the other four heroes. It has also been broadcast as a mixture of various heroes in a half-hour timeslot, and as individual segments as filler or within a children's TV program.
    The segments, and their original rotations, were:
    Monday: Captain America
    Tuesday: The Incredible Hulk
    Wednesday: The Invincible Iron Man
    Thursday: The Mighty Thor
    Friday: Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner

    Anybody who watched this cartoon from the 1960s, recognize his look as Spock from Star Trek?? I think in my opinion, they stole his look to create the character Spock!! this cartoon was my favorite cartoon growing up.. I got goosebumps and I got tears in my eyes watching this ...and I'm still alive to see it on a smartphone !! technology has made me relive my childhood!! this deep sea superhero became Spock!! they stole his look for Star Trek!!! doesn't anybody agree with me??.. I love the Submariner and then Aquaman came next.. the Submariner with his look and his wings on his feet he can fly through the air!!! I thought he was cool and I was 10 years old!!.. I can't believe it's on my phone!! this is incredible!!!..yes I'm an old man now, I'm 59 ,but that's why I'm talking like this...all you children and don't know how many shows I've seen, has anybody ever heard of Voltron??? What happened to him he's on Netflix!!

      @ 50 Years ago I was watching Spiderman on a Black & White TV. I'd never watched this but I've recently had his name come up in conversations.
      The 1st thing I noticed about watching this is the Music 🎵 and Sound Effects 🔊 are THE SAME❗❗ You can hear Spidey's Swing Sound in Submariner💜💜👍

    The Grantray-Lawrence studio (founded in Canada by Grant Simmons, Ray Patterson and Bob Lawrence) that produced this was the least well-known of all animation studios in the 1960s. It ceased to exist in 1967.

    It gives me headaches sometimes over the correct pronunciation, is it "Maron-er" or "Marine-er"? Also, what a beautifully compelling episode. What the 60's Marvel cartoons sorely lacked in animation, they more than made for in story and heart

      Not like Submarine (Sub-mar-een) it's Sub-Mariner (Sub-Mar-i-ner) NOT Sub-Mar-ee-ner.

    • @Setebos
      @Setebos 6 лет назад +1

      I'm sure Namor would be more than willing to provide you with the correct pronunciation.

    • @jalix9574
      @jalix9574 6 лет назад +1

      In John Byrne’s run of Namor in the 90s, Headhunter calls him sub-mareener, and he corrects her. It’s hilarious.

    • @Setebos
      @Setebos 6 лет назад

      Nick Fury did the same thing in a story back in the 70s (which, unfortunately, I can't remember at the moment).

    • @rhatley
      @rhatley 6 лет назад +3

      ComiXamples is correct. In the U.S. Navy (I’m a veteran), we call the members of the Submarine Service submareeners because to call them sub-mariners is an insult. The sailors who drive ships are called mariners and to call a member of the Submarine Service a sub-mariner is to say that they are below mariners, which they most definitely are not.

      They are in talks were universal, who presently have the film rights. It's no coincidence that namor was killed off so that Marvel would have the advantage in said talks. Not much universal can do with a character that's not even in publications.
