- This is a video tribute consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring one hero I found admirable despite his short run, the noble and virtuous spacefarer and cosmic Good Samaritan, The Silver Surfer (voiced by Paul Essiembre), from the show The Silver Surfer. I felt his personality to be a considerably praiseworthy one since his immense power meant he could easily wipe out entire planets on a whim, but his kindness as a person compelled him to help anyone at the risk of his own life, even his enemies after defeating them. Hope you enjoy him as a much as I did.

Interesting that Galactus is 3D while everything else is 2D. He really is a dimension higher than all those around him
This show was criminally underrated
love how at the start the Surfer selects a planet and Galactus replies "No i gave my word to a honourable noble man." Even though the Silver Surfer cannot remember, Galactus does, and keeps his word to spare his servants world. That is something we never see in villains. Normally its "erase their memory so i can go back on my word mwahahaha!"
For Galactus to give his word is as strong as the universal constants. He will not break it.
I think the (SILVER SURFER) animated show series deserves to get rebooted.

I think this is the first time Galactus has been portrayed as a character who cares about the balance of the world and not just a plant-eater who needs to eat. Heck, he doesn't get alot of focus in the comics but here he actually seems like a multidimensional character.
In the comics. He is less of a character and more like a force of nature. A necessary phenomenon, like rain

This series being cancelled disappoints me on a deep level. It was a *little* corny, sure, but it had good writing if you can ignore a hiccup here and there.
Duo bankrupcy they had to cancel, but stan lee was getting ... so much he could have finished it , god rest his soul, for he is the only one who knows what happens next.

This was one of the best series I’ve ever seen in my life. I get bored very easily and this show actually kept my attention and made me think.
I’m re-watching it for the third time on Disney+. Never watched the whole thing when it first started. Now I’m super disappointed it won’t be finished. I hope they find a way to work at least some of the story into the MCU when he appears on the screen. Reminds me of the old kung fu series.
I remember watching this as a kid. It was a cool show on the back of X-Men and The Amazing Spider Man on Fox Kids.

Surfer may not be my favorite marvel superhero, but I can see why so many people like him. He gave up his humanity to save his planet, and then rebelled against his master to protect other worlds across the universe. This series was very good, but it was overlooked and was cancelled as a result. Shame. Surfer has so much potential, yet it is rarely utilised.

The honorable man that Galactus was referring to when Silver Surfer asked about Earth was Reed Richards. Reed had saved Galactus' life when he was dying from a cosmic sickness

They use to air this on Fox Saturday mornings when I was a little kid. I remember thinking the cgi graphics were like, super fucking cool looking . Shame the show didn't get the recognition or longevity I thought it deserved.

Hey Galactus, one supernova releases enough energy to satisfy your appetite for the next few hundred thousand years. So lay off the planets.

The writing and logic changes every time it's rebooted. So nah.
No he requires a specific nutrient in energy to sustain himself
That’s why he doesn’t devour everything single planet and star he comes across, only a certain number of planets have the energy he requires to feed on
He has the Power Cosmic too, he was the Silver Surfer’s source of it, thus in power he wants nothing as the Power Cosmic can be fueled by Stars and other celestial sources
But he needs a certain energy as nutrient to live
In the end that’s why he needed a Herald, to scout planets for him that has the energy he requires
He’s so powerful that normally he wouldn’t need help, but because he’s always hungry he can’t be mobile, which is why he uses a ship to carry himself to deplete as less energy as possible, and in a ship his ability to travel is limited
Without a herald, it’s a needle in a haystack for Galatus,
But a Scout that doesn’t have the curse of his hunger would use the Power Cosmic at its fullest to travel much faster and find the worlds for him to survive
That’s why the Silver Surfer and other Heralds are created

I remember now really caring about this show as a kid, but this is amazing.
Watching this cartoon make me so nostagic. . I was too small (5-6 years)to understand its Story. . In fact I was unable to remember it's timing 🤣🤣. .
I do like the Silver Surfer animated series but I'm disappointed that the series isn't completely finish since the writer left episode 13 "The End of Eternity part 1" as a cliff hanger instead of finish with the "The End of Eternity, Part Two" as Season 1 finale which never happened sadly. What's worst is the Silver Surfer animated series is released onto complete DVD without "The End of Eternity, Part Two" which could leave the viewer watch the series with a lot of question like what has happened to the Silver Surfer at the end of part one which we may never know.

I year for a complete reboot, but same animation. Galactus kept 3D but 2D for the rest... Really hope they go for the fantastic four world greatest animation, the Japanese studios behind the Canon resident evil films, or the ones behind good anime

Love Silver Surfer too! Way under-rated as a hero. If you do another Marvel Hero, might I recommend The Thing of The Fantasic Four? He's always been a fascinating character to me. Also, if you don't mind a villain recommendation, Huntsman from American Dragon; Jake Long?
Not enough scenes for the Huntsman as a capable villain to me, while the Thing is difficult to upload a video of due to the production companies of both of the most popular shows he was in being strict with copyright claims.

You said that Vegeta was too anti-heroic to do a video on, but my question is can a villain not change their ways and one day be called a hero or are they forever defined by their past actions?
I feel a hero in my tributes do not have some monumental and willing taking of life or engagement in malevolence on their hands. Their more beneficial actions do not rectify the wrongdoings of their past, because to say otherwise would render all the horrible actions committed to be inconsequential. A villain can change, but if they did change they were never a "consummate villain" to begin with. Just someone who plays a hop-scotch with good and evil, and for that I cannot call them a hero or villain, just one playing both sides.
EmptyMan000 I see what you mean, calling someone who's committed horrible acts a hero diminishes the gravity of their mistakes even if later down the line they save lives. How about a series on Anti-Heroes where you show both sides of their nature?
Perhaps, if I can balance out the heroes and villain videos without getting taken down a peg by production companies.
@@EmptyMan000 I disagree. By your logic most Marvel characters would be "playing hopscotch between sides" as they almost all have done something evil at one point or another.
And I think coming to terms with the fact that what you've done is wrong, fixing it, and continuing to do good even when people don't trust you, believe you to be good, or give you the praise heroes get, is more difficult and takes more willpower to stick to than being a hero everybody loves.
Like with Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta is definitively more heroic.(And not even up for debate he is a better father) He fights to protect those he loves, he cares about his family, he cares about his race. He teaches a saiyan from another universe and helps him grow, and even promises to bring him back even though they are supposed to be enemies. It's even possible Vegeta would have realized he could bring all the universes back and done that like 17 did. I don't believe Goku would have brought them all back, his dumb ass would have gotten everybody erased.
And that time Beerus slapped Bulma? That seemed pretty heroic. Goku only fights because he has fun doing it. It's literally all he has that seems to bring him real joy. He doesn't even seem to enjoy being with his family.
And your bit about a villain changing making them not a consummate villain is a logic loop and complete nonsense.

the artwork of this show is really cool, tho im not sure about the cgi. That said I can appreciate that they tried to make it stylized and somewhat fit into the aesthetic of the show, which is more then I can say for most CG animation at the time. Overall seems like an interesting series that i may check out some day.

I imagine in a different realm, a variant of Shalla-Bal had, unknowingly gotten pregnant by her boyfriend, the former (Norrin Radd) before he had become the SilverSurfer.
I imagine a three days after (Norrin Radd) aka SilverSurfer, had left the galaxy, Shalla-Bal discovered she is pregnant, and it’s with Norrin Radd’s baby.
I imagine a few months after Shalla-Bal’s baby was born, she sees it is a baby boy, and I imagine she decided to name him (Norrin Radd Jr.).
To add I imagine that Shalla-Bal’s son, he constantly wondered who his biological father was, what was he like, and why isn’t his father on the planet:ZENN-LA.
In addition I imagine that age:7, Norrin Radd Jr.’s mother, she had found love with a new man, I imagine she has a daughter with him, and so he has a half sister.
More about Norrin Radd Jr.’s half sister, her name is Galilaya, I imagine she grows up to be a preacher, a teacher, healer, and scientist.
I imagine over the years, NORRIN earns himself a nickname, that best describes his personality, his mind, his patience, his adaptability, and other traits he has.
Now I imagine Norrin Radd Jr.’s nickname, is SuperMind, I imagine he develops an adventurous side, and it’s similar to his biological father.
The reason why his nickname is SuperMind, is because of his level of intelligence, being able to remember whatever he learns, along with experiences, and never forgetting any of it.
I imagine his adventurous side, it didn’t develop until he had turned age:22, I imagine he told his mother Shalla-Bal about it.
At first she was upset about it, but then later she came to turns with it, let her son go on adventures beyond off their planet, and beyond their galaxy.
In addition I imagine after a few months of adventuring by his own, he slowly gains friends with other races, and falls in love with some ladies.
Plus to add I imagine that a number of, years later (Norrin Radd Jr.) he meets, the SilverSurfer, and discovers that he once was (Norrin Radd) his biological father.
