The two happiest days of a captains life? The day he buys his boat and the day he sells her. Good luck Luke, Webo is a solid boat and a real value for someone out there.
That is such a bullshit statement that's been around for too many years. One of my saddest days was selling my last boat because of medical reasons and I miss boating more than anyone could imagine . It's expensive but I regret nothing . Edit This statement is said mostly by people that have never owned a boat or could never even dream of being able to afford one . My last boat that I sold I had for 11 years and I sold it for more than I paid for it . And that was because of all the labor and love that I put into taking care of it and keeping it in pristine shape . There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't think about my boating days on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake .

My brother had a 22ft 57 wood Owens, and he added more metal to the rutter. Without power stearing, he had a hard time turning the wheel. The next year, he cut it off and sold the boat, then bought a brand new 28ft, 12.5 ft beamed Hatteras in 1966. It was one of the smallest boats they ever made. It was fast but could spin around on a dime being twin screw. It was when they started converting over to fiberglass, and it was thick.
You have really inspired me to mow lawns and do yard work and know I have a 16ft John boat and go and hang with my friends and go fishing in the creeks. Btw love the boats you have they are so cool. I hope she goes to a good home.

Ronnie Carman of Carman boats built me a 40ft deadrise glass over plywood. Fiberglassed the whole inside and outside. Had a 13 ft beam and I put a 3208/375 it. She'd cruise 19-20 knots all day and run top speed 22-23 knots depending on the tide.

What an awesome educational video!! You are the man!... but, I have a Flying Scot sailboat that will pop up on plane like nothing you've seen aside from maybe the new foils? One more thing, that's what I love about Lyndsey, she's "Luke Proof!" Your banter is like no other! Thanks for all of it!!!👊
Sad to see it go but golllly you aren't lying that thing is a tremendous boat for what you're asking! Beautiful machine! Best of luck brother! Keep doing you! You're awesome!
Luke ( if it's OK to call you that) I just want to know how much I enjoy your Chanel and adventures. I grew up working on the water and have been in and out of it most of my life. I have some stories I think ud enjoy too. Any how the only aspect of the business I never did was having a seafood stand like you have. In old now and really am considering trying to open one In Richmond Virginia. You are what inspired me to do it too. Thanks for the ideas and may try to contact you for some brain picking down the trail !!
In North Carolina a lot of the boats that commercial fisherman use are set up pretty similar to the webo! Solid boats I’ve been on shorter boats pulling oyster dredges and pulling anywhere from 800 to 1000 pots a day or every 2 days awesome vessels just not for shallow waters!
You should look into kinnamon boats they build them on tilghman Island. Obviously nobody makes a cheap boat nowadays but they built a few for us when I was working up there on the bay. you can't beat one of their boats. We had a 28 footer two 30 footers. The Brittany May was somewhere around 40 and then the last boat they did for us was a 46 by 14 called the little miss Emily. 6 pots wide between the gunwales. And we'd stack them 7 wide and 3 high on the roof. Cummins 450 in the dog box. There were no more days off due to rough seas when we started working that boat 😂. Jellyfish are the only thing I don't miss from those days. There's no better feeling than having to pull the boat into the travel lift slings with 100 bushels on the boat and water coming in the scuppers.
i live in Dallas TX and your making me feel like I need to buy this boat lol good luck with the sale and hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it!!
At 13:10, the steering reservoir must maintain 25 to 35 lbs. of air pressure. The air pressure assists the fluid to move faster to the steering ram. Without the pressure, you have to excessively turn the helm. There are also engine controls that use a pressurized cylinder like that as well. The engine control system uses glycol, not hydraulic oil. They are great controls if maintained properly, a lot smoother than cables.
It really is a awesome boat. I could watch boats like that all day and just smile. Im actually looking for something even bigger and deeper. Really hope to find a 45-55 foot troller/combi boat in the next 5 years. Planning on retiring by way of the sea.
I had the pleasure of working with and learning a lot about the Chesapeake deadrise, from start to finish, with Joey who owns Sinapatuxent Boatworks in Snow Hill Md, out of 2 chicken houses. Which actually are pretty perfect to do it in. Which in comes in handy bcuz I’ve redone a floor in a 35’ Maycraft as well as many other repairs for friends and family. I’d much rather take and spend the money for a custom built “wooden plank” boat, than just going the cheaper route and buying something that’s a production model. I’ve found that that’s the ONLY way you’ll find your perfect boat.I’m 53 and I wished I had the space to build a smaller 16-18’ Chesapeake skiff outfitted the way I want. A person could build a boat like that in say 10-12 months comfortably, while working a regular 40 hr a week job. If properly taken care of, the boat could outlive the lifetime of the builder.
Hey Luke I just bought my first deadrise an Oneil Jones Built boat. Planning to trotline and oyster dresge in her. Good luck this Season bubba were down here by hoopers island where we work.
I've taken my 19' renken out to block island, newport ,RI and long Island all the time to go scuba diving. It's not the size, it's the experience that makes you get thru.. I've been on the water since 17yrs old on that boat, I'm 47 now.. still have her and now a 24' Larson for the family.

trust me with this. Watching this video you need to invest in some new extension cords. You need commercial grade extension cords and not weed eater cords for what you do....just saying, nothing smaller than 14 gauge and i would have all 12 gauge at least be marine grade cords. Shocker that all his friends are like twice his age
No one our age has any integrity or respect anymore and it's a damn shame
Agreed
He puts me (the old man) to shame!!! wish my 2 boys (in there 30rds) were like LUKE!!!!

Finally! A cruise control that you can trust.
Poor Webo!!! I feel for the boat and yes I feel for you the sadness of loosing The Webo!! Keep pressing on to the higher calling of our Lord.
That is a great deal for someone in the market for that style boat!!
Much respect. Respect the boat for what it is.
25 racks for such a stout vessel IN THIS ECONOMY!?!?!? luke you got that thing priced to MOVE! love to see you flourish and prosper my guy!
Worth every bit for $25k! Safe season and happy crabbing!
Just add a front-rudder to the front of the boat that way the turning radius to be short

Bought a boat without considering draft and the avg depth to be fished? Stunning.
Boating is a lifelong learning process. The sea is always teaching us whether we want to learn or not. Lol
If someone buys it and needs it hauled somewhere lmk
You can poach Rock fish with sunken gill nets
Shallowest in the world? Brother come to Matlacha FL. Crab pots half way out of the water on low tide
I live 2000 miles from the ocean and you almost convinced me to Buy it 😂😂😂

Crab dredging you want a boat that can turn quick and get into shallow waters or else you’re stuck in the middle bay .
