Brad Gillis is a phenomenal guitar player and did an amazing job on Ozzy's Speak Of The Devil live album of Black Sabbath songs, and the DVD of mostly Ozzy solo songs and three Black Sabbath songs. Brad definitely did justice on Tony Iommi's and Randy Rhoads guitar playing. I also love his guitar playing in Night Ranger and saw them live a few years ago and it was PHENOMENAL!!

Very cool. I saw Brad with Ozzy in Loiusville Ky. Thrn I saw Night Ranger, and Brad blew me away both times. Randy had passed of course so I never got to see him sadly.

Brad's " Gilrock Ranch " is still one of my all time favorite CDs ( in fact, the tune " Monster Breath " features some of the wildest whammy bar licks I've ever heard ). Phenomenal musician. Thanks for this video!

Also easily One of the best live sounds to this day. His tone on the Speak of the Devil album was incredible and the reason why I play mesa boogie gear live and for recording

I must say I had an old Floydrose without the fine tuners and that trem did stay in tune, I wish I never got rid of it.

Very cool interview with one of the most down to earth guys in the biz. Fkn love his style of melody and I consider him absolutely the best at what he does. I gotta admit watching some of his live stuff, I never realized it but his playing is the side of the speaker I listen to when I listen to the Ranger material. Jeff's stuff is of course great but it's Brad's melodic stamps that I gravitate towards. I love this channel and it is my favorite of the players channels. Right up there with Rig Rundown.

Brad Gillis is one of my teenage years guitar hero's and I adore that guitar. Curiously enough Neal Schon used an almost identical guitar around 1980 with Journey and on the first Hammer and Schon album. Can anyone tell me what model was Neal's guitar?

I know that this is off topic on this video, but what happened to the video that you did Talking Shred with Reb Beach? He is one of my all time favorite guitar players and I loved that video big time.

Question; you’re at the historic Arcada theater in St. Charles? What state? I’m thinking Saint Charles Illinois, because there’s an Arcada theater there that I played years ago. Great interview, by the way.

Masters of Shred, Right on. The green room looks a bit different from the time that I’ve played there, which I think was back in 2001. By the way, sounds like Brad has a microphone on him, but you don’t? It’s hard to hear you in the mix.

Yes, he had his original Frankenstrat set up with a Fender tremolo. He was able to keep it somewhat in tune with a lot of trial and error. But he went to the Floyd Rose when it first came out. He also played a bigger role in the development of the Floyd Rose trem than most people know, offering his advice and helping tweak the design of it.

@@ACMusicland yes I was pretty positive, I was like 17 when the first album came out and it was mind-blowing for the time.. I just wanted to point it out because there are some people that think he had the floyd at that time :)

@@ACMusicland yes I know.. I was 17 when the record came out.. totally mindblowing at the time. I was just pointing it out because some people think he had a floyd from the start.. .and we didnt even know how he was "tapping" as we saw no videos..

Why he talks SO frenetic? He's on coke or something? And WHY he doesn't look at the interviewer? He mentioned Vito Bratta? Lol
Good guitar player but very petulant. I could hardly finished the second part.
