He’s missing the triple D barrier the deck used to swing games into its favor and the multiple toadallys it could summon in a turn, but still a very strong deck for prog regardless. I expect a homey ban for makyura next episode or the episode after where cimo tries the deck again with it.

The detail in the playmat is so good! I love Skull Servant coming out of the Burial from a Different Dimension coffin.
Easily one of the best prog moments. I never would have through of Burial to bump King by 3000 ATK.
This may be my favorite deck Gage has ever brought. That game 3 was disgusting
Not that it would have mattered but Corebage’s 2nd effect makes it get back the xyz material if a monster changes battle positions, so Dante would have triggered it

yeah but did you know when Makyura got unbanned, the official card database wouldn't update its card text to reflect the errata until a week later?
this means for a couple days, old school style Makyura FTKs were fully and completely legal

Of all the forever banned/errata'd cards makayura is the most interesting to me, because It really limits you to a single popoff turn, and forces weird deckbuilding, since you are playing cards that are only good if you see the one-of, and the cards that enable him thin the deck of the cards you want to see when activated.
I actually think most of the time he was only decent here, but game 3 was disgusting.
Pretty sure he was used in ftks. Think one was even done in prog.
@@sage-d4q he was, but if you play those decks they tend to brick quite a bit and if you stop makayura once the deck is permanently done, and since you need to lead of with makayura anyways they tend to be super fragile.
I do agree with him being turbo banned (errata'd), I just think he's more interesting than most broken combo enablers.
i think makyura is insane in the sense that he pretty easily enables the set up of an opabinia, which ends up being makyura for the rest of the time its on the field for paleos. plus, its not too hard to see a hand that can make opabinia AND toad off of one makyura, and once paleofrogs have both those guys on the board they become much harder to stop. like, in a vacuum, he's a one-time popoff that requires you to see one of a few one-ofs, but the deck's still completely functional paleo frogs until you do see him. like, this isn't the ftk stuff makyura usually enables, but since it's a deck whose endboards (relative to the format power level) is incredibly strong but takes a few turns to reach that endboard, having the few one-ofs for instantly getting to full power, making a huge comeback, or just popping off in some other way in a deck that can actually not only get some deep draw but also live long enough to naturallt draw into those cards, without actually hampering the deck is scary enough.
Pre errata Makyura on Lab/Eldlich would be disgusting to see
As interesting as it is (I dont really think it is thou tbh) the end goal for it will always be toxic ftks and nothing else

Absolutely he does I really think it’d be exciting to see his two creations go against eachother like he should build them two custom decks for one episode that have “equal” ceilings with solid answers to what both do but without cards like vanity’s and flood gates that just one card ruin it for the other and see who outplays eachother

At 25:25 Gage sends Makura to the GY to us it's effect. However, the card specifically says its effect activates when it is sent from a Monster Zone to the GY. So sending from deck does not grant Gage the effect to activate traps from hand

They bulk recorded because he was going away on his honeymoon. Weeks of episodes were done in very limited time. No time for help even if it was available.
No one would've complained if they stopped for a few weeks once given the reason but instead it got ruined
And it was even more stupid because they could have just put off the beginning of season 2 entirely until after he came back.
He could have done something else that wouldn't have even needed another person to do (like a playthrough of an older YGO game or something) that would have filled in for a few weeks and let excitement grow with the announcement of it coming, but nope.

Yes. Originally it was whenever he was sent to the graveyard from anywhere.

And it's for one trap card now
Yeah basically the errata killed the card if it was only 1 trap per turn or if it was only that it needed to be sent from field to grave it would have probably seen niche play, konami liked over errataing cards at this time such as ring of destruction, crush card virus, temple of the kings, chaos emperor dragon, sinister serpent, goyo guardian. Only witch and sangan got playable erratas.

Timezones are a thing, what works well for one doesn't for another.
The difference on my timezone is I watch it late in the midnight or I sleep through the upload and skip the episode and watch MBT reaction instead

Gonna be an interesting banning. Immediately getting rid of Toad still leaves Makyura legal to set up both Paleo XYZ and draw like a quarter of your deck. There’s also an argument to ban Armageddon Knight to both massively reduce the consistency of resolving Makyura while also future proofing for links later on.
I also at this point think that Vanity’s Fiend and company have more than overstayed their welcome. They’ve been lame to see since way back in Zexal iirc. I’d also like to see Vanity’s Ruler and Majesty’s Fiend get preemptively hit so we don’t have someone immediately pivot into another floodgate. Floodgates aren’t fun to watch.

I play curtain raiser in my mqsochist deck. It’s a great scale and easy way to get a free body on board…as long as I remember to activate it before summoning

@@user-kj5iy3fd5q DB uses the latest erratas for card text but Makyura only received that errata when it came off the ban list. When Destiny Soldiers released Makyura was still banned and the card text didn’t specify from the Monster Zone
