I completely agree, the story of the first Assassin's Creed was very compelling and interesting, in addition to the gameplay being good, the assassinations felt very satisfying.
It's amazing how Ubisoft can't see what they are doing wrong. And not listening to your audience is just insanity. I miss the good days when AC was actually about assassins, and didn't try to push any views on you.
Its probably not on the developer teams but in the executives and investors, they are money hungry monkeys and will not care about what the players want, they do not care what ideas the developers whant to implement, and do not care about anyone but their pockets
1. Mirage was a step in the right direction I love that game even now.Ubisoft can STILL make an amazing city and make a whole game around a small map. Ubisoft went WOKE now they’re going BROKE.
I played Assassin's Creed 3 on my WWII laptop with 10-15 Fps (I'm not even kidding, it's that bad) just because I loved the franchise with all my heart and seeing what it has become disappoints me deeply, the disgust that droves me to see people say that nothing has changed and that the RPG part and the woke agenda doesn't distract from the focus of the franchise and that it wouldn't affect the gameplay at all, you can call it whatever you want but for me this is no longer the franchise that I loved so much. Obs: I still have the laptop and will play Assassin's Creed again, English is not my native language, so I hope it's understandable. Shout-out to Brazil 🇧🇷 ❤
I sooooooo relate to you and hoping year after year that the magic will be recaptured. Shadows will be the first one I've passed on since 2...... Good video my dude.
I thought you had very good points in the first few minutes of the video and could really relate with all the things you said about AC1, how it made you research stuff and draw fanart, because I was in the same situation as a teenager. But then you began talking about how having Yasuke, an african samurai, as one of the two protagonists in AC Shadows should somehow be a bad thing and you kinda lost me there. Putting aside the fact that Yasuke actually existed, albeit not in the exact way that he is portayed (even though that is something that happens to basically every historical figure in AC games anyways) this is a setup for one of the most interesting AC stories in recent times. Assassin's Creed was always about outsiders and uncommon people defying their odds and making a mark in human history without making it to the history books, because history is always written by the winners and not everything we seem to know about history is actually true. Yasuke as an outsider and his relations with japanese royalty are a perfect setup for a super interesting story. Besides, it's something different for a change. And probably one of the few ways AC Shadows can actually differentiate itself from all the samurai games that came out recently like Ghost of Tsushima and Rise of the Ronin. Ubisoft will probably still fumble it in a bunch of other ways like they have been doing for the last 10 years basically. But the footage we've seen so far and Mirage actually doing a few small steps back to the roots of the franchise has left me cautiosly optimistic about Shadows and I'm the most exited about AC since Unity.
I agree with this as yasuke is real historical figure even if he wasn't a samurai. Trust me I'm tired of the woke approach but Yasuke doesn't fall in that category to me
@@DreamyNightz You don't think a token "diverse" character that disrespects the very culture you are, finally, exploring, is the result of what we colloqiually call "woke"? - In that case i have some bridges to sell you. Yasuke is 100% the result of having to meet DEI scores (yes, these 100% exist, i work in a multinational corporation. They aren't called such, but that is basically what they are). Do you, in good faith, actually believe it to be happenstance that the ONE time, that Ubisoft goes with a nationality that differs from the setting you are playing in, it is to champion the ONE black person of any relevance to that period of Japanese history (even if he was but a footnote, and certainly never a samurai, according to basically every Japanese person). Again, if so, i recommend you lay off the copium. Imagine setting a game around feminist history and choosing the main character to be the long lost younger brother of one of the important thinkers, that laid the grounds for the movement; you know instead of that FEMALE great thinker.. It is nothing short of ridicolous, and having followed Japanese gaming channels a little, the game seems to be, basically, dead on arrival there. Obviously, this is all made worse by Ubisoft clinging to actually calling their games "historically accurate". You can't have both western historical revisionism and accuracy in one game, fucking choose..
You think having a black samurai is what's going to differentiate them from other titles..? And in a good way? *Boots the game "Wait this samurai is black instead of white?" "Holy shit!t this is way better than Tsushima, all the samurai were white in that game!"
I was literally checking your videos while doing calculus homework when I saw this was uploaded 30 seconds ago. I like how you're not afraid of saying how things are without having a cringey right wing agenda. I feel like there's a broader trend of this kind of pre 2018 RUclips with actual integrity slowly coming back. Also I'm thinking of playing Black Flag.
@newblue3256 yeah, I wonder how many people saying space marine 2 is the second coming of christ against the woke actually sat down and played it. It's hard to believe ubisoft made masterpieces like black flag. It's one of the few games I've ever beaten with the hud turned off the entire playthrough.
i remember expecting a medieval fantasy setting where i could matrix run up and along walls like i used to back in Prince of Persia... what a dissapointment it was to find out it was all a VR dream from a character clearly modeled after Adam Sandler, i avandoned and ignored this franchize without ever looking back, what a bullet dodged, what joy it brings me to see it finally crumbling to dust. Prince of Persia will always be better, and now everyone can see the usurper is nothing but a naked king

I would disagree with you on just one opinion, rest all is perfect, "Syndicate" is the last true Assassin's creed game.
More crying about gender and race and little about gameplay and story issues come on man
AC1 and 2 are iconic, AC3 was a blunder, black flag was excellent, and then the rest have just been shit. Boring, timewasting shit.
