You guys make it look so easy ! I learned a thriple pirouette in two classes and I learned a double set of fouettes in one class. I can't do seconde turns to save my life! For some reason this is the hardest turn in the world for me ! Haha.
her turns are flawless 😍
I tend to hop while going in for another turn any tips
My problem exactly I alway hop and jump
Practice balencing on your foot
Dancerbellaboo same I look like a drunk midget person trying to spin
Work on felling the motion in your foot with out hopping. Look up bar exercises for turns in sencond and you’ll find some great ones!
I also struggle on that but a good tip that helped my hopping almost completely go away was trying to control ur foot when going up on releve, don’t go up super quickly, take ur time.
OK soo i can do 2!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooo excited! I know thats not alot BUT my teacher just started teaching us pirouette soooo im pretty proud!!!! Thank you jfkvideos!!!
My seconde turns are crap! My leg wont stay up! It drops when I turn!
make sure you butt is stick in and you are standing tall this will help you keep up everything
Dance Moms Fan I'm finally getting it. When putting your leg from the side to the front treat your leg like you are laying it on a table and bend the supporting leg. Mirrors help a LOT!
okay cool keep working hard
Me too! I can't keep my leg up for that long! The girl in the video can hold it for a long time.
I understand what and how to do it now, but everytime I finish the swivel I am unbalanced and it throws off my turn. I don't know how to control my swivel and then when I am ready to open my leg out to second position it messes up my turn bc I started falling off on my swivel already. Someone please help me any tips
I have the same exact problem
I have now watched this video once and gotten my a la secondes . I feel accomplished:-) I have self taught myself to do an axel , chaine chaine c jump, illusions, firebird, chin stand and tilts :-)
These are great quality videos. Not only providing dance instruction to girls in the midwest - now the world!! Thanks JFK!
its taken me 3 years to master this :) and i always called it a fuete :) i feel accomplished
practice makes perfect
This helped a lot
so clean
thank you so much!!!
Thanks for this video! I need to do these for dance team and I kept doing foutee' turns by accident (I'm a ballet dancer by training) and this broke it down and is really helping me.
spotting really really helps me.
yay it worked!
That is my goal right there! That was so perf. Her legs are goals too 💪
What a fine dancer!
:-)
very helpful!
Thanx, very helpful.
wow she is soo good
I can do 2!!!!!!!! I'm sooo excited!!!!! Ok i know it's not that much BUT my teacher is just now teaching us Pirouette soooo im pretty proud!!!! Thank you JFKvideos!!!!!!
don't hate, people! it's a great video and awesome detail explanation of an advanced turn. Good job!
Yay! I can do one now :D
i like this video, them just showing me the form helped and i think if i keep practicing i will get it
these are gorrrrg.
OMG! thanx so much for posting this! i've been trying to figure out how to do this.. but nobody's really explained it to me.. =]
i'll give it a shot! :D
I just learned how to do this today! I can do four in a row, but they still need work. This definitely helps me see what i'm suppose to be doing.
Okay I am SOOO subscribing because I SUCK at leaps and turns!
i have until may 13th to learn these!!
Releve goals
She makes it look so easy lol. But thanks for uploading it this video really helps. I almost have it , all I need is a little more practice.
Lol i was watching kbm which helped but this prep was better for me! :)
nice
This is so hard!
OH MY GOD! you are so good! i wish i could do that! but i don't know how to go up and down with my foot like she does without falling.
Gorgeous muscles!
Just For Kix Started in Minnesota, but now it has spread all over the country. Check out our website!
If you watch the Fouette turn video, it shows you a part at the bar. Use that. It really helps. Hurts like ever, but really helps.
WOW the muscles!! slightly jealous here i wish i could dance like these people :O Summer holidays coming up.. time to practice im thinking?
on my dance team, we call these fouettes, and the real fouettes (when you put your leg in posse) is called ballet fouettes. they are both so hardd!!!
Pretty!:)
I bet if i ha more space i could do this becase it makes y movement so jerky. Thanks for making this vid c:
make a good ballet bar! it is the most helpful way to strengthen your knee.
@iAshelle "Adage:The Turners", there are on the website of just for Kixs :)
@riklpikl14 it was very tricky for me to get that too. There isn't much if a specific way that you can be told, it can all be confusing. But what you do is go to relive while extending your leg out 90 degrees and down with lower and keep on going. I drill that might help you is doing any turn and lifting your foot up and down. This can even work for a pirrouette
lol me too!
i do mine differently though, but its still good
Anybody whos having trouble with these turns, make sure your spotting your turns. It helps you keep balance which is essential to all turns, especially ones like this.
these are also called grande pirouettes : )
This would have been more helpful if you taught us how far to turn before opening you leg and when to open your leg but other than that it was helpful :)
@Sabrina Sotelo I can do them now kind of but I'll give you some advice. If you turn clockwise, use your right leg that is out. And when you're halfway to the point where your leg pumps out, have it a little lower so you can get the power to keep going. Hope this helps!(:
With rises and releves at the barre, the better your supporting leg will be if you have a strong ankle.
yes, its a variation of your general fouette
I find it kinda easy now now I'm I can't finally do it in dance class
thx alot. but is there anyway kind of warm ups to keep balance or is that what you told me?
i know the feeling. i thought the "fish flop" looked really easy, so i tried it on my kitchen floor and ended up kneeing myself in the nose and kicking the table.
they're like fouettes, but "fouette" technically means to whip like whip your leg around.
these are a la seconde because they are turns in second position
do you have to strengthen your quad for this one?
@Xxperfect0tragedyxX
thanks that helped a lot! :)
what kind of dance classs do you learn this in? ballet, modern, pointe????
@funkymonkee468 Of corse!!! They are completely different. On this one you don't bring your leg in to your knee.
@maddizzle16 13 isn't too late at all! I'm 22, started about 2.5 years ago, so I definitely started around people who were a lot better than me haha. People will admire your determination to learn so don't worry about being judged. Also, you'd be surprised by how much you can learn in just a couple of months.
i can only do a double pirouette. is there some way to keep balance cause after a double i fall over.
@DanceLikeYouMeanIt7 there are pirouette shoes there found on dance websites under modern
True a la seconde turns stay to the side even in plie.
oh & remember to keep your leg turned out :D
I love this turn and have been really trying hard but I keep falling over - does anyone have any exercises or something to learn first to make this easier!!!! I seem to start ok until I rise on count 1 but then I can't turn as I have stoped!!!
i would luv to be able to do that but my only problem is, i cant get mi leg that high and i have no space to practise. Is there any warm ups that i can do to get mi leg high up
When you are down in pliea should your foot on the ground be turnes out? Or parallel?
@MultiRandomgurl
try keeping your pelvis tucked forward as much as possible so your leg won't turn in and go too far back
help me with this,
what if i can only get my right foot in a good second position in the air,
but i also turn on my right foot
@chookieJS on the prep? well if your talking about the prep you are probably used to shooting up, because your used to Pirouttes, so just think "Prep 5 6 DOWN up" instead of Prep 5 6 up down"
@XMEEHwantCOOKiESX
Fouettes you whip your legaround and it come into posse after the turn on A la Seconde turns your leg stays in second.
@luvtobehappy94 a lot of things : supporting legs, stomach muscles, spotting or you are just sick;)
a "tour" is short for tournant, which means turning while executing a given step. So it is a very broad term which I guess could be used for this type of term, but it doesn't exactly explain the actual move because the term is used to describe many different steps.
I always found this one easiest to do
so when you move into second on the turn you stop turning you foot and just move your leg?
i can do it(:
is this also a type of fouette my dance team always calls them fouettes but i was taught a la seconde so is it both?
hi I have a 4YO daughter that loves the ballet I wander what age can I let her start to practice in a school ? right now she an actually walk on her feet finger just watching it your videos and make turns
I am In Just For kix
@maddizzle16 i actually started at 12 going on 13 and only 1 year of jazz im already part time competitve and hav a solo part in my dance so if you put your mind to it you'll be fine and maybe take some summer clases to c if you like it
im having problems getting my leg into 2nd position, any tips?
I have three weeks to learn these but they are not required. I want to make a good impression so PLEASE ANY TIPS?
xkatiepricex18 to get your leg high enough I would suggest just stretching every day a stretch i would do is a scissor stretch(its how i got it) because to get your leg that high requires alot of flexibility
anyone know how to strengthen your legs for this turn?
2024 anyone??
👇
what type of dance shoes is she wearing to do this? i'm thinking about getting a pair.
Can I get this perfect in 2 days? Well close?
Wait, I do it on my right foot, and I turn the direction to my left hand, is tht correct?
I start hopping on my foot- any suggestions?
wat dance studio do u go to
@AcroGurrlC Make sure and keep your abs held tight and your hips tucked under to maintain a center of control in your body. Otherwise just focus and keep practicing!
This is hard do u stay on ur heel while u spin? Or do u tip toe?
When you are in the front you are on relève. When your to the left corner when your leg is down you are flat footed
I want to do these so so so baaad
ik! it takes alot of work! the video is to show you the proper way
How many turns are you supposed to do? I can do 1. Can that count?
I say the hand is the momentum to turn.
i really cant do it but im gonna keep working wish me luck plz!
