My husband was raised 7th day Adventist and wishes to return to this faith. Thank you for posting this video because I have no idea where to start preparing for the Sabbath as a Christian.
Assume you will be meeting the King (president) every Friday at sunset, what will your house look like, how will you dress, what music will be playing in the background, will you still be cooking or will you have everything prepared for that night’s supper and the next day’s meals, etc. What will you watch, read, talk about in his presence? Now just visualize the King of the UNIVERSE. And to think He wants to spend an exclusive 24 hours just with you.

He was saying today, or this day of grace, or this age of grace, not law, by which we are saved through faith. This is his rest forever where we enter in and find rest for our souls. Are you a child of the day. Or are you still in darkness?
I agree how do you get bored with the Creator when he's the maker of all things and not just that just the name of Jesus in the words that he has spoken you will never be bored

I tried to enjoy to keep my mind about the things that are about the Sabbath keeping and the law of God it just flowed I could keep my phone at home and my conversation was just about his word. you can be rested at home and your mind is about things of the world then your are like just unemployed and there is no Sabbath keeping
Wow Pastor, you lick the nail on the head, many of us don't know how to keep the Sabbath Holy.
Our churches have fail us when it comes to teaching us how to do what God expect us to. I have learned so much things from online than from my pastors and elders in my church and this bother me because I try search but what about those who do not know how to find information etc.
The churches are too often about operating like a business on the Sabbath, rather than delighting in THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL
The Law was not made for a righteous man.but for the ungodly and for sinners. We who repented, and received the new birth have now been created in righteousness and true holiness. We sre save by grace through our faith. It is grace that teaches us to deny worldly lust not the law. The law came by Moses, Grace and truth comes by Jesus Christ. Jesus death brought about the new covenant that is base on righteousness by faith without the law. We establish righteousness as we walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.

The early church gathered together on Sunday for breaking bread (communion) and to hear preaching (Acts 20:7), possibly as a commemoration of Jesus' resurrection.
But the Sabbath was part of the Old Covenant given to Israel and has not changed. The Church is not Israel. We have been given a New Covenant in the blood of Christ, a covenant of grace, not rules (though the rules may be good for us).
The 10 Commandments were good, but fall short of showing us God's real standard, a standard revealed by Jesus when he commented on the 10 Commandments (Matthew 5:21-22 & 27-28). The rule is 'Do not murder', but God really doesn't want us to hate in our hearts. The rule is 'Do not commit adultery' but God really doesn't want us to lust in our hearts. The rule is 'Remember the Sabbath Day' but God really wants us to find our Sabbath rest in the person of Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 4). HE is where we rest from our ‘works’.
Colossians 2:16-17 says "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
The New Covenant puts the Old Covenant in perspective: The Sabbath is a MERE SHADOW of Jesus Christ ie. The Sabbath is a lesser, imperfect, blurry picture of the REAL DEAL! Jesus is the Sabbath God wants you to keep. He is the place we find rest from our labour (good works and obedience to the Law, which can't save us) - that has been His heart all along.
In keeping the HEART of the Law (eg. do not hate, do not lust, trust in Christ for rest from works) I automatically by definition keep the LETTER of the Law (do not murder, do not commit adultery, honour the Sabbath and keep it Holy).
If you are a Christian choosing to keep the Sabbath unto the Lord, that's great and it is a blessing to you. The danger is in obeying the Law to 'earn' favour with God, or as though the Old Covenenant has not been surpassed by the New and better Covenant.
Thank God for this Godly man and thank God for youth that are still interested in following our wonderful Saviour.
Love what pastor has said but I was brought up to do all that he has talked about and at my house we do not cook or put on fire after 6pm or sun down Friday to sun down Saturday. Our food is cooked over night and mostly go with vegetables and fruits so we don't cook. But every I know cook so I wonder if it's right with what i do?

I used to wonder at this thinking how can you spend all your eternity just saying holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. I find myself now doing just that - praising Him continuously. He consumes my thoughts as I drift off to sleep. I wake up at 2 - 3 every morning and get on my knees just to give him praise and thanks. I study scripture continuously. I absolutely love the Word of God and just can't get enough. Bored??? It's just not possible. The peace is absolute. The joy is overwhelming. Holy, holy, holy is my God and my Father. Amen!

People are so overwhelmed and by such Sabbath has become a burden. instead of praising and reconciliation with God, eagerly waiting for sunset. To do good on Sabbath has individually translate and seemingly bring the subject into compromise. We ought to study Bible with expectations God talk with us.

Sabbath is from sun up to sun down it's not that long just got to church and church again
Not Sabbath but The Sabbath Day
Every one is in need of salvation. Not religion. As such Timothy when writing about our salvation said that it is Grace that brought salvation. We are saved by grace through our faith. The repented sinner has received the gift of righteousness without the works of the Law. As such, the believer by virtue of his new birth experience is now recrested in righteous and true holiness. The new spiritual nature cannot sin. That is why he is told to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh, or the old nature. The apostle Paul could now declare that now the righteousness of God without Law is now manifest. Should we sin because we are no longer under law. The answer is no. How shall we who are now dead to sin live any longer in sin. Paul commands us to crucify the flesh with all its lust. By this way we overcome the tendency to sin. The law is not able to help the sinner to overcome sin but to point it out. It fail to help us live righteous. This is why Jesus came that through his death which paid the redemptive price for our sins we are now set free from sin. What the law could not do, God sending his don in the likeness of the flesh condem sin in the flesh that the requirement of the law would be fulfill in us who walk in the spirit.

The Laws or commandments of God is written in our hearts which comes by believing in the Son of God Jesus Christ. Not by observing Sabbath.
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40 New King James Version (NKJV)
You don't go out on the sabbath because of the distractions outside? I'm different from you. I don't go out on The Sabbath because of Exodus 16:28-29

Why should I continue to go to a Sabbath keeping church that doesn’t keep the Bible sabbath like it should? To be honest when I go, I don’t want to be there.

The ten comandments were a contractual obligation of the jews. When jesus died n paid the divine blood, he sealed a new contract for, not only for jews but also for gentiles all over the world. So, why are SDA s so adamant on the 10 commandments ?? Instead Jesus gave us two greatest commandments love your God n love your neighbours. And how to keep these two commandments is clearly prescribed in Gal 5 n Gal 6. Law or legalism is not a genuine or true form of love n respect for God, its false or blasphemous to God. Rather if we know who God is n respect him we come to love him a develop a deep n personal relationship with him. Once you do that you also can be able to fully understand all the 10 laws n can comply with the laws n live a righteousness life.
People need to know that breaking the Sabbath happens during the week before Sabbath even starts.

A lot of words but no explanation or details, no teaching. Do you mean no one should work on the sabbath? No medical workers, emergency workers, no utility workers, no public transportation workers? How many people would die without these workers every sabbath? Which other commandemnt would cause that much pain and suffering if kept by everyone?
