Why You SHOULDN'T Learn Retakes

  • Retakes are not something to learn, but something to do. Rather than trying to memorizing an exact sequence, you should be building those sequences in real-time.

    Great advice. At this point I don't really think of retakes as in "doing A retake" meaning a set procedure anymore. I think about different styles of movement and patterns of connecting builds. In a build fight priorities are: 1. Protect myself with my buillds 2. Damage the opponent(s) and 3. Piece control to take away their ability to do the first two to me. Movement is an inextricable part of 1 and 2 as well, and piece control also takes away their movement options.

    can you please make a video about all building fundamentals i know there are tutorials alr out there. again i like the way YOU specifically breaks things down and the way you communicate.

    All you really need to know is to never stop moving while build fighting and also doing retakes is just a wast of mats, the most useful retake is side jumping and piece controlling your opponent when they cone you. Best thing for practice on creative is raiders aim training, speed realistic’s, 1v1 piece control, any kind of zone wars and also respawn royal which is basically a lat game competitive but you can respawn and you have randomized loot, I find all of the maps helpful for me as a beginner on keyboard and mouse.

    All spot on but the last part, just run 1v1s and watch your opponent, harsher beginning but is the optimal learning exercise

    Nice. I just got back into the game after about 5 years (wow). I’d consider myself to be slightly above beginner level so I wanted to learn some retakes to help progress. I still did because I think it’d help me with overall mechanics but this video is helpful with the mindset behind building

    All you need to do is watch the foot steps when you’re building that’s an easy give away to where they are also all you’re really saying is learn all the retakes and mix them together that’s what retakes are connecting all your builds together so that you’re covered and retaking the high ground from your opponent

    Could you please do a video on all the fundamentals of retakes?

    • @Nisowyd
      @Nisowyd Год назад

      No video necessary, I’ll just list them here: They should be protecting more than one angle, side jumps/90s are the fastest way to regain height, they should be dynamic, you should double layer (cone + floor instead of just cone or just floor, same concept with ramps), track your opponent not your crosshair, and finally (if you have the opportunity) ramp/cone over your opponent to give you a chance of getting height. And if all else fails you can always just chop down.

    • @dreamer5687
      @dreamer5687 Год назад

      @@Nisowyd hey maybe you could make a video becuase for a beginner this can be to much and maybe you can simplify it more .
