My daughter came home yesterday, 6 months in hospital she is only 16 years. 27min she died, heart attack, ICU, feeding tubes, tracky. My baby is finally home for Xmas with a ABI. Thankyou, because this is very similar to my situation now. It helps me, to know we are not alone. I'm happy your girl is alive, just like my girl, walking, talking, but a slight difference. She will be disabled, but she is improving so much

I had a severe grade 3 concussion for 3 weeks. Got tboned iam 25 years old and I came home and couldnt walk and lost cognitive function.. no brain bleeding .. but after 3 weeks I have gone to rehab and rehab has helped me come back to a normal life
You were being dramatic dude. 3 weeks and you are healed was nothing compared to me- try 3 years and I am still not the same. Suck it up and stop doing dumb stuff that gets you hurt. What did you do- skateboard or something?
@@MOAB-UT i wrote that 6 months ago, and the concussion persisted, so I have post concussion syndrome at the moment but it's getting better as time goes on I feel better and better, I'm 7 months in now
@@YourDailyDoseOFinternet117 That is exactly how I was. 3 years out and I am probably at 90% or better. Pay attention to your sleep. You may think it is your post concussive syndrome (I have that diagnosis in my chart too), and it may well but but for me, I realized, much of it was simply because I was not getting good sleep. When I did, e.g., on a vacation, I would wake up great. Your FOG can be from a consistent lack of sleep. Even if you lay in bed 8 hours does not mean you are resting well. Get a sleep tracker like a Garmin Venu2- something reliable tracking. CORE SUPPLEMENTS #1. The right, high fat foods and exercise- even if it is only walking daily. I also eat plenty of healthy fats e.g., WILD (only) Salmon, never toxic farmed raised, Grass fed steaks, PASTURED (only) 5 minute boiled eggs, Olive Oil, Walnuts, Avocados, some low oxalate veggies like Broccoli. Also, try to eat KIMCHI daily. We need fermented foods to feed out GUT. It is critically important for many reasons. Time restricted eating also helps e.g., 18:6. Eat at noon, stop by 6pm #2. I depend on my Magnesium Glycinate before bed. It makes you sleep much better. #3. NAC- on empty stomach #4. Sublingual B12 w/food If you want to share with me your current diet and work out routine, I will share my thoughts. Also, was your vision and or balance effected at all? For me, one pupil is still bigger than the other. A fried dropped about 30lbs. of skis from the wall down onto my head when I was doing yoga- I was facing the floor- hit just above my neck. In some ways I got lucky it was not an inch lower. If you make a big time effort to do the right things, I think you will heal up just fine over time- as in years not months. Take this opportunity to jump deep into nutrition. Read Plant Paradox, Dr. Gundry, BRAIN ENERGY, Dr> Palmer, Metabolical- Dr. Lustig, Food, What the Heck Should I Eat- Hyman. If you do this, you will benefit greatly. Dr. Berg has a good YTbe channel too. Disclaimer, I am not a doctor or expert in anything. This is definitely not advice of any kind...just what I do. That said, when it happened to me, I wish someone took the time to provide this type of valuable info. I searched for it and did not really find it. Most docs are truly clueless- run tests and want to put you on Xanax. Did they trick you to get on any drugs? All drugs have side effects- some worse than your concussion! Good luck- be sure to never bump your head again- especially for the next year or two. It does happen more easily though I have found. We are simply a big off our game- it's normal.
@DG-ti1jb , your right it could be my sleep, also I eat everything u mentioned in the reply, and I believe it could be my sleep thats causing me to feel slow, I did lose weight, and my lower back when I walk it just feels sore. So but other than that, I think ur right it could be my sleep. U sound like your knowledgeable on holistics I would like to know your diet? If u would like to share that with me?
As a recent TBI survivor this brought me to tears, it is a long tough road Bek already knows this, she is a fighter though and I pray that she sees the healing that she deserves, keep up the hard work and good things happen though!
Sir me and my wife meet an accident feb 23 2021.my right side totally broken and she had brain surgery done.. After time passes she recovering but she suffered fatigue problem.. It is possible or not she get back old life as 100%.. We are newly married.. I love her so much.. Starting 3 months is facing lots of problem
@@mintudas2433 I am not going to say anything is impossible, but I tell everyone to throw away the "normal or the of 100%" . I feel like I am at about 70-80% of where I was pre accident and consider myself really lucky to be here. If your wife keeps working and striving to get things back good things will happen, its been 7 months for me and I still struggle with balance, fatigue and minor memory issues. I am a completely different person than I was at 3 months, time, work, and acceptance of a "new" normal will help. Don't give up keep the love of your wife strong and be strong for her and good things will happen for you two!
@@RiverRatsTotalOutdoors Sir when she hear noise then she fell her brain weight.. She walk daily 1 km.. Sir do you have any knowledge of ct scan report ?
@@mintudas2433 I had a lot of ct scans done, I don't know how to read them, that got left up to my doctors and once I started to recover I trusted what they said and told me. If she is up and walking she has to keep doing it, exercise and sleep are the biggest keys to recovery, sleep lets your brain take a rest and light to moderate exercise feeds it with oxygen which it needs a ton of. My head always feels different than it did pre accident, the "weight" she is probably feeling is slight dizziness, I have a broken ear drum now to so it is hard for me to tell if my dizziness and balance issues are coming from that or my broken ear. My biggest advice is to keep concentrating on recovery

I fell 14 feet from our back porch when the railing broke when I leaned on it. Fortunately my 6cm brain shift to the left resolved after 2 weeks and I returned to work after 3 months recovery at the same hospital where I was treated. I was lucky with only minor deficits.
I’ve been where Rebekah is, I got hit by a car running a red light at about 45-50mph when I was crossing the street at 14, it’s been a very dark and difficult 17 years for me because therapy in recovery stopped to soon and I was put back into school where I was tormented for speaking with that same speech impediment, if there is anything I can say to Rebekah, you are very Beautiful, Jesus Christ loves you very much, you will get better with time, and I have found that singing and listening to positive uplifting Christian music seems to help the most. I still want to be normal also, but what is normal really? I’m happy to be me, and I wouldn’t give anything to be anyone else because at the end of the day, only I have the strength to walk in my shoes. Same to you Rebekah, only you can walk your life. Just know your not alone. To be honnest I think even Eminem suffered from traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for a day more than me. If that can give you any hope towards a successful future. Also if you are interested in making your own music I do, you can literally use bandlab to make excellent quality music with a looper to make music. I find that the vibrational frequency of music seems to be healing.
Traumatic brain injuries suck! Im going through one right now and of its not one thing its another. My job is treating me terribly. Its dr. Appt after dr. Appt. Seizure med after seizure med. Living at home with parents. Not being able to drive. Its a really scary situation because there are so many unknowns. When can i return to work. When can i drive again. Will my head ever feel normal again. If there os hope id love to hear some stories. I feel trapped in a rut right now :/
I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you will be better soon. A close person to me is going trough traumatic brain injury. He is still in medically induced coma, they said to us he will never be the same again. Did you noticed personality changes, emotion changes..? Do you think you are the same person you were before that happened?
Sorry to hear this. What happened to you? There is hope but it will take a long time-0 did for me but I am much better. Look to healthy fats and good nutrition. The brain is 60% fat- feed it well.
Its very complicated. One did not get good physical therapy options/encouragement and can’t move really. One is in a wheelchair, very hard to understand when they talk but you can if you try. You have to hope and try for the best but temper your expectations. Each case is completely different. I worked with a girl that had to relearn how to walk and talk. You cannot tell she had a brain injury even though at one time she could not speak or move.

I hope you're doing well. My brother is on a ventilator right now, he had a heart attack and it took too long for someone to get to him in time so they're saying he has brain injury die to lack of oxygen from the time his heart stopped til resuscitation. Now the doctor is trying to get my family to pull the plug. Another Dr is saying he could stay in ICU for 14 days and then we could do a trach and transfer him to a hospice but he'll have to stay heavily medicated because he is having bad seizures when they try to decrease the benzos to take him out of the coma. I don't know what to do. I don't even think I have a say in the matter.
I’m sorry you all have to go through this. Get as many medical opinions as you need. But if and when you know deep down in your hearts that he is ready to go, don’t hold onto false hope - since at that point, keeping him here would only be a form of torment for him and his loved ones.

And he also started to yawn.. and few times ..very few times..move his elbow, feet finger and head a little. When something is put in his mouth he try to chew it Its been almost three weeks he is breathing on his own initially was put on a ventilator doctors says from now it all depends on patient's will power to secure complete recovery.. He is having food through NG tube He also have tracheostomy tube in the neck Also mri scans have shown global or severe hypoxic brain injuury He is only 33 He was a healthy person before. It seems like he can listen when we ask him to blink his eyes he blink his eyes He tried to grip my hand when i hold it
i think he ill recover slowly, maybe he wont be like how he was before the incident happened.but if u stay by him and motivate to be better,he will def improve much more

The time I was 3 months something hospitalized. When I was rushed to the Emergency at Bascom Hospital. I remember a tube went up my nose and I hear a woman voice told me swallow, swallow. Everything went black after that. I was like Micah Jones, but much worst. The hospital wasted no time and immediately goes to work after woken up from my coma. I was in bed completely paralyzed from the head down. The first thing that I could remember when opening my eyes. Is asking myself where am I, where is this place? Having monitor and pump at the bed the side. Still wearing diaper and a pee bag. Tubes in the mouth and nose. Wires on my bald head, neck, and arm. I remember all the way back only a day or two from woken up. That my father was the first one and later families, relatives and friends started to come to visit me. The upper floor where I have to wear a C-Collar for my neck from Page. One of the Physical Therapy. I have no control over my head. I could still remember the pain every time my head dropped backward, I WINCE PAIN. Like the bone about to snap. For weeks I have to wear a C-Collar for my neck to be stable. After that, I would get fast transferred from a woman on the bed from one room to the next to get treated. I feel amuse inside with a slight smile looking up at the lights on the ceiling like the world is spinning. MRI, CAT and Ultrasound Scan to see the inner body and the brain if there's anything wrong. Then every day Physical Therapy with Ritu an Indian vegetarian young woman and Ron. One day I just got exhausted and tired from all the Physical Therapy and ask to stayed in bed. Occupational Therapy with Jacklin and Ritu. About 2 months the hospital feed me liquid food through a small wire in my neck. All nutrient Vitamin and Mineral. I felt the sting and WINCING IN PAIN and taste the liquid food as it dripped down my throat, because it was dripping too fast. It sting for A FEW DAYS LATER until one of the nurse came in my room checking if everything's ok. Saw I was in pain every time the liquid food dripped and knew it was dripping too fast and adjust to a steady pace, and asked me "is that better?" I nod my head saying yes. I feel so relief after. I still have a small scare on my neck to this day. Then it was time to take x-ray of my throat as I was given a piece of solid food to eat to see if I could swallow it down. For 2 or 3 days before I could swallow the solid food. I would missed the hospital food when it's time to eat. Every day something new and it's all American food too. I would eat practically everything. Family would bring food every lunch time, father, mother and my two older brothers. One day my Blackanese brother took a picture at lunch time and let me see. I look very unhealthy. The look in my eyes saying I'm ok inside. But the outside is all messed up. One time after lunch when big brother Minh brought me back to my room. I couldn't remember who he was. I couldn't talk and have to take speech class with Jill and Robecca. 3 months close to going home. The hospital let me see dogs of all kinds. When I pet the dog I sense the hospital staff is watching me. The hospital staff also took me and my father 3 outings trips. To Westfield Valley Fair Mall to wake up the brain and the nervous system of the five senses. At the mall is a lot of commotion and noise where the staff watching me closely to see my alertness. There were a girl walking fast by me and I remembered her immediately. It's was my friend Sunny's ex girl friend Ngọc, and then go eat ice cream at the cart. Down the street of Bascom to Asian Garden Restaurant to eat pho. To get strength and muscle mass back in my very skinny body. I was 125 lbs before now about 75-80 lbs. 3rd outing trip to go play remote control race car. In the middle of having fun playing, the moment when I crashed is when I just I have a feeling and knew I'm being watched and observed. On how my brain is working. My judgment on controlling the remote control car, twisting and turning with one hand. Many follow up, more food, rest and observation to see my logic and how fast my brain has recover before I get to go home. For 5-6 months after I got home is where I began to talk. One night I needed to pee but couldn't. The urinal is kept in the bathroom. So I slam the music boombox that I have on the side down on the floor and force myself to call out until my mother or father heard. Now I kept the urinal in my room with 2 spare mark with orange permanent marker. To know which is the daily use or spare in my Sterilite 3 Drawer Cart. Every time I want to say something and it doesn't come out right. I get pissed off at myself and I would get angry very easily when people tend to get on my nerve. To my ex girl who stayed by my side at the hospital all the way home, and gave me a Radio Alarm Clock with CD player to listen to at night. Every night I listen to the song Vân Quang Long - Người Tình Cô Đơn and I would put it on repeat. It's because of your CD you made for me I recover so fast. I was Music Therapy myself and didn't realize it. The music make me feel emotional and wake up the nerves in the brain. THANK YOU VERY MUCH BABY AND I MISSED YOU.
Whoever are paralyzed know what I'm talking about. Life was hard for the first few years for my family especially me. When I just got home from Bascom Hospital. I was still depressed and having to take antidepressants medications. I have to adapt and adjust my active life style to a paralyzed. I was right handed and now I've learn to use my left hand. I will be both left and right handed when I walk. Not quite understand and know what's going on. A year later my brain slowly recover. Memories are coming back one by one but not all until now. One day I just have a thought to try and wheel the wheelchair by myself with one hand. Since then, it got out of control for all things. I didn't asked for family help to push me around after eating to the living room to watch tv anymore. I have to memorize to do all things in a certain way, and remember as much as I can. To make my life, family and other easier. Learning how to eat right avoid fattening and oily food. When I'm too heavy family member have hard time transferring me. Reading and writing with the left hand, folding my own clothes (easier to fold on the bed) and pooping. After wiping when dropping the toilet paper in the trash can. Too much paper in the toilet in toilet will clogged. Making sure the toilet paper landed poop side down and clean side up in the trash can. Because I know poop will disgust anyone and didn't want family to go in the restroom and see poop in the trash. Spraying the whole restroom with Febreze Air Freshener Linen & Sky. The easiest smell of fresh air from the sky before family open the door. First thing when opening the door is the smell hit your face. Many other small things I have to remember that would be a problem if I do it wrong. I will make sure to do it right the 2nd or 3rd time... My walk is getting more and more closer through the years. On Thursday, December 7, 2017. I went to my family doctor for a check up. He put me on a new medication. Folic Acid, folic acid belonging to the B-complex group of vitamins. I found the supplements called Bronson Organic Folic Acid, and NutraFitz Naturals B Complex Vitamins - B Vitamins Whole Food Supplement. Supports and balances the energy, metabolism, and "nervous system." Promote the development of healthy cognitive function and memory. Supports healthy digestive and neurological the science of nerves. Cardiovascular function encourages healthy mood and sleep rhythms. Enhances healthy cell growth and division. Cognitive function can be defined as cerebral activities that lead to knowledge, including all means and mechanisms of acquiring information. Cognitive functions encompass reasoning, memory, attention, and language and lead directly to the attainment of information. It's very strange how people affected by brain injury. It's like we're a whole new different person. The look, body and personality changes. With Pure Cordyceps and GanoUltra Lucidum Mushroom that I've already taken. Plus the Folic Acid and NutraFitz Naturals B Complex Vitamins. I will recover like Micah Jones a full 100% through GOD'S OMEN SIGN THE CROW. Now my family Doctor has retired his son take over his position and said I don't need to take anything only what he prescribe. Just let the body recover. If I want I can take 1 A Day Multi Vitamin for Men. I'm taking Saffron about a year or two now. It help with Nerves Growth, Lower Red Blood Cell, Improve Mood and Treat Depressive Symptoms, Appetite Control and Aid Weight Loss. I only use Saffron for the 6 main reason.🐺

Time restricted eating also helps e.g., 18:6. Eat at noon, stop by 6pm
#2. I depend on my Magnesium Glycinate before bed. It makes you sleep much better.
#3. NAC- on empty stomach
#4. Sublingual B12 w/food
If you want to share with me your current diet and work out routine, I will share my thoughts.

You are awesome 🎉❤❤❤❤❤

Almost brought me to tears. God is healing her, I have to believe...
Very true
Thank you for showing your story 🩷🥹
God bless. Two people i know going through this
How are those people doing?
Its very complicated. One did not get good physical therapy options/encouragement and can’t move really. One is in a wheelchair, very hard to understand when they talk but you can if you try. You have to hope and try for the best but temper your expectations. Each case is completely different. I worked with a girl that had to relearn how to walk and talk. You cannot tell she had a brain injury even though at one time she could not speak or move.
@@PunkMartyr Thank you. I pray everyday and maybe he will heal and be okay. I'm just worried because I've read that he will wake up as a completely different person and never be the same again.

The brain is so susceptible to trauma.
on 3 june 2023 my brother went unconscious
His eyes rolled back
...and doctors told us that he has a heart attack and as a result have hypoxic brain injuury...
uptill now there is no complete treatment for this thing..
Its been a month now
initially he can only open his eyes with limited look around movement..
now
He can move his lips and tongue a little..
And he also started to yawn..
and few times ..very few times..move his elbow, feet finger and head a little.
When something is put in his mouth he try to chew it
Its been almost three weeks he is breathing on his own initially was put on a ventilator
doctors says from now it all depends on patient's will power to secure complete recovery..
He is having food through NG tube
He also have tracheostomy tube in the neck
Also mri scans have shown global or severe hypoxic brain injuury
He is only 33
He was a healthy person before.
It seems like he can listen when we ask him to blink his eyes he blink his eyes

Bonk
It's was my friend Sunny's ex girl friend Ngọc,
and then go eat ice cream at the cart.
It help with Nerves Growth, Lower Red Blood Cell, Improve Mood and Treat Depressive Symptoms,
Appetite Control and Aid Weight Loss. I only use Saffron for the 6 main reason.🐺
