A lot of us have followed and love you since you began your adventure. You've never failed us over the years, even with the passing of of an intracule member of the ensemble the sadly missed, Dave Greenfield. Not that any of you are unequal in your contributions, The Strangles are truly a very democratic sounding group. Best Wishes always
I remember being under my duvet when I was 16, listening to the John peel show on my tiny transistor radio when he played black and white side one and two in its entirety. The stranglers, the only band who ever mattered to me when all my peers were preoccupied with the rest.
@@tenerifereddog3943 All Stranglers albums are good. The best period was with Hugh. With Paul Robert it was different but i love too, and with Baz Warne i find the band returns to his origines. The band had always explored new musical territories. Timeless band...
The beginning of this song reminds me of another band I loved back in the early 80s: Ultravox. But then it gets very Stranglers. I always loved Dave's contributions to the band, but the more I learn about him, the greater my appreciation for his unique genius. RIP.
JJ is a brilliant songwriter actually one of my favorites and I have been into the Stranglers since I heard the Raven back in '79. am a musician and have a wide taste in all kinds of music. The Stranglers have a great body of work (yes a repertoire that is rich and of quality.) The new album continues the their artistic odyssey.and they earned every bit of fame, money and notoriety they have got.
Great JJ typical charmingly obscure song writing. And all these efforts are truly impressive, the solo is jazz correct and all, striving for and idea of perfection ...but it still sounds like karaoke Stranglers to me. Baz's watered down singing mimicking Midge Ure is utterly ...yeuch, excuse my French... and reminds me more of the not at all regretted Paul Roberts than anything else. Hugh is definitely far away from the equation, his voice, vibe, angular guitar not to mention his amazing sense of song writing & arrangements. The keyboard sure enough is Greenfieldesque but chances are Dave would have come up with something far more original i.e. surprizing. Mmmmmmmh that rhythm box and pompous keyboard bass, I dunno I really don't know... each time a new Stranglers production came out I used to rush to the records store to get it, and rush back to my record player to play it. But this urge has gone from disappointments to consternations, even well before Hugh left. Oh dear...
Beautiful song, Beautiful sentiments...
But hearing talk of Dave still gets me emotional.
Yeah me too.😥

I’m loving these little snippets from the new album. Wets the appetite for the September release.
Yes indeed roll on Sept looking forwards to the album release
This band are brilliant, the creative juices run raw, no matter who is in the line up, they're still at the top of their game.. Much love. 🕸🕷🕸
Cant wait to get my hands on this album.

No Hugh. No Stranglers.
This song is pretty good nevertheless.
No Hugh, no Dave, no Jet no Stranglers. Damn ...JJ is the only Strangler left!
I get the feeling JJ knows this is a scamdemic.
