Damn. I replayed CoP so many times and really thought I've seen most of it, but missed the mercenary plot completely. I both had a bandit and non-bandit run, but the mercenary questline... awesome!
ı actually find giving the ransom money to be the best simply because ı am a completionist and thats how you get the diplomat achievement which also gives slight reputation boost with every faction allowing you to do Strider's quest without having to be a part of Duty or Freedom.
Oh my god, DUDE! I had no idea that you could do any of this! that you could help the bandits to get into their good favours as a means to get in touch with duty, and what not. Like not even Fallout: new Vegas has something like this! So many RPGs would make it obvious that it was even a choice you could make by including it in dialogue or internal monologues or quest markers with “(optional)” in the title. But here it lets you explore it without making it obvious, and it’s more natural and far more immersive that way! Imagine what the quests would be like in Stalker 2 with this design philosophy behind them!
It remains to be hoped that Stalker 2 will retain all the best from the previous parts - the study of quests from Stalker Call of Pripyat, the interaction and struggle of groups from Stalker Clear Sky, the Atmosphere of tension and deserted from Stalker Shadow of Chornobyl.
I am replaying STALKER Call of Pripyat right now, and something really cool happened. Basically, I successfully got Owl to give me the mission to complete Transaction on Morgan's side, and this I did with Morgan and me being the only guys to survive the mission (I got Spartak's high-quality AK with grenade launcher in early game, epic W). After maxxing out my Zaton playthrough, moving on to Jupiter, and meeting Morgan there, I was met by a Mercenary team of 5 while scavenging out at night for hidden stashes. They did not see me but I saw them approaching me, so I turned off my flashlight and hid in the bushes in no condition to fight them, since I didn't want to use the guns I have looted, didn't have a sniper rifle, and was almost at max weight. So, what I did to avoid a confrontation was use my medium quality gun to shoot at 2 mercs of the 5 to put the entire team on alert, then circled around them and went for the Jupiter train station as fast as I could (walking speed lol). I got to the station, dropped off all my loot, and grabbed a sniper rifle I found earlier with all the ammo I had (50 rounds) to take out the mercs, and a shotgun for self-defense ofc. I quickly approached the place where I saw the group last, but upon reaching it, I didn't get any human signals. That's when I saw the bodies. All 5 mercs have been killed by Snorks while I was gone. There was only one Snork remaining, and I quickly gunned it down with my shotgun. I looted all the dead Mercs, found the PDA which I then used to interrogate Morgan for an Obokan rifle, and all this without taking any damage and without using my brand-new recently-looted sniper file. This literally happened yesterday. I really love this game.
I am basically so indoctrinated to think that quests can only be finished the way the quest marker intends to, that I do not expect any sidestepping is even possible.
When quests imply variability, it is a huge piece of work to calculate all possible and even impossible decisions and actions of the player. It is worth praising the developers for taking into account even such an unobvious option by ignoring the bandits' quest and ignoring help to loners ☢️
@@valeriymayorshyn_games It's pretty interesting. It combines all the maps from all 3 games plus some maps that were scrapped during development. I think the atmosphere is actually better than in the original trilogy, but the gameplay is different - it's kind of similar, but it's a lot more hardcore and you may not enjoy it.

Hey man, just found your channel from this video. Checking out some of your other work now, keep up the good work! I'm American, but my grandparents were from Ukraine. Stay strong!
This is what I tend to do with games like this (and mass effect etc.) One playthrough as a ‘good guy’ choosing the ‘nicest’ options, then a second playthrough as a bad guy where I choose all the most ‘complete bastard’ options. If the game has been designed well, it should change things quite a bit 👍
problem with this is "factions" they all have stickers bad guys - bandints good guys - others so its easy to decide in moral stand point what to do if there were just groups and sultan was like hey pal help me with this before you know his other actions it would not be so black and white
it's not really hidden, you just have to side with Sultan the first time you come to skadovsk and get the mission in shevchenko so I guess any player could have easily found it simply by replaying the game and mindfully choosing different approaches or by reading a wiki, cool to see people still getting amazed by the series tho
Not just to side with Sultan to be clear, but skip his mission with bandits-newbies. Only after that, you’ll open the quest with Morgan through dialogue with Owl. Cool game, with some interesting things to speak about 😌
There is a hidden snag quest involving the dangerous cave, you gotta go talk or pass by him and he’ll ask you to find an artifact in the dangerous cave. Talking to snag, after the cave, you can head back there and bring back evidence what was inside the cave to beard.
@@valeriymayorshyn_games Believe it might be a gunslinger exclusive quest that was cut from the original release version maybe. I recently started a mostly OG CoP playthrough and it didn't trigger.
Wait, this exist? Damn, I started new run (I didnt completed the game) a while ago because I sucked at recruiting Strider and his fellow chads into one of the cringe factions (I want Strider in my group so bad because Monolith) I hope I heard the video right and didnt understood anything wrong (Dont wanna this affecting to Strider in any way)
This video just about the unobvious quest line with Morgan (rat warehouse manager from the Duty fraction). So, if you want to recruit Strider group I recommend Freedom fraction. For that you have to give Morgan’s PDA and Tachenko’s PDA (duty ex-leader) to Loki. I complete the rest of the missions for the Loners - I tell Gonta about Magpie, I am adding Spartak's group from Skadovsk to work in the protection of the scientists' bunker etc (Spartak will die if you’ll pass Ranger Station deal with Morgan). Btw - It’s just my way to pass this masterpiece 👍🏻
Damn. I replayed CoP so many times and really thought I've seen most of it, but missed the mercenary plot completely. I both had a bandit and non-bandit run, but the mercenary questline... awesome!
Yeah, it’s not obvious to tell Beard about the attack and not help loners, ignore the bandits' quest as well... ☢️
I found that taking Goldfish and storming base alone was the best option - it let you get tier3 artifact before reaching final map
Yes, it's the most profitable way... But not so easy on the high difficulty levels.

I just bought the trilogy last month on steam, even installed some old mods and I only suffered one crash
