Foot sweep-the most beautiful throw. How to do it correctly.
• Sambo is beautiful thr... - Ivan Vasylchuk's competition footage
Execution of the throw is always accompanied by crowd's "WOW"! You can see the throw in sambo and judo, still, it's fairly rare move. Seemingly it's easy to o learn, but the idea is to unbalance your opponent in proper direction as he's resisting. Sweep is a spectacular throw and I share all my knowledge of the technique.

Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours - Спорт
this is some nice info. Tomorrow I have my waltz dance lesson & I'm gonna try this.

I'm a 3rd grade English teacher in Compton Cali and I've swept 11 students.
U are a liar!
@TheAbysssarian Official# I was hired last December. Your trained from day one to have one eye on the kids and the other on your sweeping leg
@mc finn typically 1 a month
@@longliveavalon tell that to my bruised ankle
@TheAbysssarian Official# The most rewarding part of my job is when I get to put one to sleep with either a rear naked choke or spinning back fist
He makes it look so effortless. I wonder how many years practice and drills it took to make it look second nature like breathing.
I have been doing Sambo for 26 years, I have achieved the maximum possible result in it) Therefore, it is so easy)
@@poeticskeptic7052 I too am very awesome...
Learning Judo and Sambo is easy but to Master it, can take several years.
As you are swept, hang on tight and take him down with you in a counterthrow
@kommisar remember you are going down, it not impossible just need to practice that move as well
Thank you very much for the content in English, it is very helpful for Spanish speakers
We are very glad that you like)) Thanks!
something about this comment is hilarious...
So Spanish would be best, but you feel like you couldn't rightly expect that to happen. So you're happy with the "Common" language translation to English? That's my guess :)
@@good6894 probably bilingual
I see what you did there hahahaha I mean: Noté lo que hiciste ahí jajajajajaja saludos
"on my competition I swept only once, but on the streets I swept plenty of times"
Man, I wouldn't want to live in your city
He said but on the streets I have swept plenty of people. That even sounded beter
Brings back memories. I learned the sweep the same way back in 1990, or so, when I started judo.
Foot sweeps are a good way to keep your opponent off balance in more than one way.
If they can't be sure of their footing, they have a hard time attacking.
I started adding foot sweeps into my Judo repetoir just as a counter to my opponents foot sweeps.
After a while I became very good at them and my win % went up proportionally to the skill of my foot sweeps.
Absolutley the best sambo/grappling channel to date. Thank you for the awesome tutorials!
I'm always glad to share my knowledge!
Thanks! Gonna try this next week at my nieces birthday party.
Daniel Palacios bitches be trippin
That's right, mop up the floor with those kids!👍
Not worth it)) Better in the wrestling hall
Tried it with my grandmother.
It didnt end well
She beat your ass didn't she?
That's why he's not responding. Haha. Too embarrassing.
You broke her hips didn't you? Then she sued the shit out of you. And now of course you are hiding. Lol
You couldn't take her down, could you? Fucking amateur
I hope you're well in these difficult times, mr. Vasylchuk. All the best to you, your family and your country.
Thank you very much!
This is one of the best instructions on a foot sweeps ever!. Thank you, Master Vasylchuk.
This is the first video that really made me understand this technique. Thank you very much for that.
Thanks a lot for your instructions! I love watching your throws and I use them in BJJ and Judo training.

"But on the street I swept plenty of people." 😲

Thank you for being with us))👍
Simple yet effective
Nice breakdown thank you
I watch a lot of these vids on how to do throws. Usually we have to watch them slowly explain the technique for 5 mins before we even see what the throw is. I have always said 'why not show the damn throw first so we know if it is what we are after?
You have done exactly that. Thank you. And you are a great instructor.
Thank you too. I glad that you liked
Amazing tutorial
One of the best descriptions and demonstrations I’ve seen for this technique
I am very pleased thank you!👍

You guys are awesome!. Great work not only performing the drills but with the translation as well. For people with slavic background, speaking English can be really complicated.

Great video by the way.

Thanks Ivan, great explanation! Watching this reminds me of the old mantra: move the body in two directions and it falls. :)
In judo, it is called "okuria ashi barai/harai", beautiful and effective technique

It's true that foot sweep is effective in a street fight, as I saw the video I only remembered the guy I applied this guy on with ease and other attackers
great vid great sweep
you are welcome🤝
AWESOME FROM USA!
I'm going to incorporate this into my ball room dancing routine...step step SWEEP
On health)))
thank you for the video this is a great technique. 👍🥋🤼👊 for Martial arts.
Thank you!👍😉💪
Ivan, please do another video focusing on or breaking down timing and balance. Does the opponent need to be standing straight? What if opponent shifts his hips back?
Thanks for the great video! I am but an amateur but I imagine there must be some way of thwarting the throw. Reversing it on the thrower by holding onto his upper body or transitioning into some arm lock or leg triangle choke or something. Would be perfect if you showed that!
Blessing champion
Ochen horosho, spasiba👌
Вам СПАСИБО!
"I can throw to the right or to the left.." Yes, I have noticed that. No problem ;)
Thank ad
Very good 👏👏👏🙇♂️ Muito bom.
Glad to welcome, very nice!
Really Great video that showed the technique so simply. Question though: can a sweep only be done with both legs getting caught?
I did judo for a couple of years, but I could never get the timing to catch someone with this in randori.
it happens))
Just have to practice a couple of thousand times Andrew you start hitting it.
Thats cause you suck
During my 10 years of competing in judo I could only do it once in competition and for me it's still my best ippon by far. The feeling of lifting someone up in the air just by using your foot and his momentum is just orgasmic
it is so hard though. so hard to time.
Nice sir
Master class
Thank you, my friend))
