- Researchers at the University of the West Indies warn residents of Barbados that they’ll likely see ash from La Soufriere’s volcanic eruption for weeks to come. The volcano, located in St. Vincent, which is nearly 120 miles away from Barbados, began erupting late last week after laying dormant for 42 years. Neighbors on both islands are now helping each other clean up and Chef Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen is also pitching in. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer has the story. #InsideEdition
Finally someone that pronounced "bajan" correctly. 👏🏾

The fact that they SAID "BAJAN" an not barbadian was nice.
Nature can be so brutal. Hopefully everyone is okay and evacuated properly.

Unfortunately they weren't evacuated properly, they were evacuated by via cruise ship but only the ones that had the covid 19 vaccine and the unvaccinated people were treated as second hand citizens
Well that’s nature, it’s not it’s fault, that’s just it going through this cycle

I'm from St.Vincent, and just seeing all that ash over 100 miles away is just crazy amazing
Its so weird seeing something from my Carribean, the accents, the locations and the people, on international TV. This really seems to be one of the biggest tradedy's over here.
Mother nature is on her flex game since 2020 huh..
I'm having flashbacks of Mt St Helens back in 1980. Yakima Washington was in darkness at 1pm in the afternoon due to the ash.
I'm from 🇧🇧 Barbados 🇧🇧 but I wasn't born yet in 1980. I have to look up Mt. St Helen
Yes my family in Barbados has been sending me videos all day.

How ironic, I was just reading an article that was discussing about an extinct Giant Rice Rat from Barbados. I say they’re lucky.

I remember this day I couldn’t see the ocean and I live on the beach in Barbados
At the start I thought it was bo2 music 😂
So... It's 7 months on and I still have to sweep ash off my porch as it collects. It's still very much in the air.

Where were the subtitles at the end
That is my island that ash was like cement, when that eruption happened the sky turned to darkness we had to have our windows it was like night.

This eruption is very different than Fagradalsfjall eruption
really, how so?
Recovery of hope
Resident: “still here by god’s blessing”
Volcanologist who sent the alert to evacuate: 😐
Snow yayyy!!!
Yup..if snow turned to a thick cement-like paste when water hit it and was hazardous to breathe in... 🙄 Yay. They also have us driving to work in it like everything is fine.
Finally yall notice what is going on in Barbados😁
God bless to everyone 🙏
Thoughts and prayers to all those affected. My concern is when the tropical rains come, that all the ash will create more problems as it turns to mud. Will take months for Mother Nature to "correct" this mess, just as the travel industry is trying to recover.
Our whole planet is screwed up...
So imagine this is like pompei... But times 10 thousand
Proud Caribbean girl 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲jamaican btw
oh i thought the title meant Barbado finally gotta phatty

Good luck Barbados! Looks like it’ll clean up nicely with rain season, but quite a pain to deal with.
Slipping ash like ice 🤔🤔
What.a.mess :(
Hay I live there
Sip their lemonade.
Sip Deez Nuts.
We need Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew to stop this eruption
cries in asthma
Not funny, we don't know how the ash will affect ppl's health
@@FaithandNova as someone who’s had such severe asthma that the ash of an volcano would of killed me if my entire family had not uprooted their life and had to move to the mainland, this is called dark humor. Air quality can and will kill you 🥰
I think the yellow stone volcano is due. My professor mentioned this, so geologically speaking its very close but in practical talk its probably not in our lifetime. So give or take it can range from Tomorrow or the next 1000 years we can't really measure it so this was an educated estimate he had hehe.
Volcano ashe
Now that will be a fertile place
Where?
St Vincent ofc. Once that settle down, everything will bloom
This ash could be useful for agriculture natural fertilizer
Wow
Cleaning the ash is literally a task.. I slipped like 5 times while cleaning wet ash
1 person has died here in barbados due to the i halation because they had asthma
