I feel like things like ponds would be the very last place to look for someone or something. I myself would've thought to look for a missing someone in a different state/country or even the local forest but not a place like a pond if that make sense.

No the IRS wouldn't care to find them. Because if they found them the people couldve potentially fought the case. They would rather the people stay missing, so they can confiscate all their assets and their estate without anyone complaining or arguing against it

I assume autopsy will look toothe bones for trauma and MIGHTfind it, but cars driven into ponds look exactly like when up top: no damage. Car DOES look like some trauma happened to it.
It does look like it took a couple of rollovers as well. Maybe it was an accident that flipped the car then just simply rolled into the water. It would be some semblance of a wreck but it just makes you wonder about all the police work done back then.

Why is the rear of the car damaged? And the windshield and the roof? It looks they were rear ended by a truck, possibly while braking to enter the hotel facility. If the entrance was there of course, EDIT: Not at all, they tried to pull it out by the rear axle but it disintegrated.

They did. But it was murky and they did not have radar back then. I saw a case where a ladies Kia Soul hood was 1.5 under the small ponds surface in Florida….and you could not tell it was there by just looking at it from the surface. The guys took fishing sonar to this tiny pond after a tip from a cop that she was last seen in a certain road, and they were so sure nothing was under the water. One guy just jumped into the water and his calf’s were only 1/2 submerged in the water as he stood on the roof. They retrieved the license plate, confirmed it was the missing Kia (lady was dead inside) and called the police immediately. Yea. Tiny ponds can hide cars. During a drought in the Midwest, a car that had been reported missing over 50 years ago with the four teenage remains still inside of it, was found in the relatively small river off the road. They had vanished after a party 50 years ago.
There's been many times drivers have mistaken still water for pavement, especially in certain conditions. Heck I've seen tons of videos of people walking right into a pool or lake not realizing it was there 🤣

No, automotive electrics continue to operate under water, if that water is fresh water. We've seen many cases where a submerged car still had its lights on for hours.

Over the years, as rainwater fills it, the weight of the water can cause collapse. A sudden, heavy storm puts a lot of weight on it. Over the years, as the metal breaks down and gets weaker, the weight of the water is going to become to much.
