James had me at 5:00. It's so good to hear another rider who understands that a 2 foot drop can be as much of a "send" for a beginner as that road gap might be for someone with years and years of big feature experience. That's why I try to feature all levels of "senders" on my Insta channel. We all should be celebrated!
100% my dude! It’s a cool feeling once you’ve conquered a new feature and feels even better the next year when you come back and wondered why you even worried about doing it. Progression is a cool feeling.🤘
Word!!
Yes! James' vibe is so on point. More attitudes like his, please.
@@erikhorn3884 Nice one mate 🤘
He's been in enough videos now, it seems only fair to make him official! Right on 🤙
That drop is no joke!! Stoked to see what you guys come up with.
I absolutely love the message from James at 5:00. Everyone's day on the bike is their own, and even if you don't have your own best day, it's still amazing to watch someone else have their best day.
Honestly, watching my sons progress is the single most rewarding thing in MTB...only behind leaving them in my dust on ascents (they're starting to stay on my six, though...the days are numbered).
That’s great to hear man! Keep up the great work in supporting your sons progression! Thanks for the comment 🤘
Ahhh I think this is the time that we saw you guys at the mushroom parking lot before you film this. Wow!
Nice congrats guys. Love the energy James bring to the table.
Welcome James.... great to see the channel growing
This is the first video I've seen with you in it... Love you already bro!
I wanna see you keep sharing the real you. That authenticity is captivating🤘🏽
Thanks my dude 🤘
Casual viewer for awhile. Stoked to see the expansion and progression. Content is always top notch
Im a long time subscriber and have always thought this content was far better then 90% of the MTB channels on RUclips…thus just skyrocketed the channel! Can’t wait to see what happens this summer!!! Wheeewww
I first came to this channel for the superb “how to” you posted on setting up a GoPro for riding.
You have quickly become my favorite mountain bike channel. You and the family have such great energy and are always a joy to spend some time with. James seems to fit right in and I can’t wait to see more of all of you. Keep up the hard work. Cheers!
Woah, what a roller coaster of imagery I just went through with this video!
James, you went from looking like a purple "Stig" from Top Gear when you see him walking around in the background of the TV show intro's, to looking like a purple Ali-G with those riding goggles on. 😆
Gutted that you couldn't make the big jump on your big first intro episode. But think of it this way - the only way is up!
You have a lot of fans here already and they all cant wait to see James shred...
fav part - Ryan's nervous laughter in the background 4:56
More like cackling once I realized that it’s not ME stressing over a feature, for once. It was a great feeling 😄
That’s exciting man. Really happy for you and your whole team.
Cheers Robert!
Cool to see that you are normal people, with fears, anguish and anxiety when doing stunts like this. This makes you real. Love this chanel.
Good on ya for leaving it for another day, I did the exact same thing last time I was up there. And if you wanna level up the gnar factor there’s always wardens gap🤙
Epic video. Can’t wait to see what this year brings for you all
The best RUclips content is when there are at least two buddies dialoging. I hope your channel doesn’t lose that. Stoked that you get to be behind the camera more but hopefully still do some of the dialog. James is awesome I hope you are still making appearances in every episode. I’m so excited for trail building content too
Yeah James! Can't wait to see what you guys get up to. Good luck!
Yes, this is some really exciting news, perfect match for the channel imo 💓 Heal up well James and don't feel pressured!
Excellent work. Backing out when it doesn't feel right and riding another day is critical in riding, well done
Love the attitude mate - great to see you on the channel. In the spirit of helping everyone (by which I mean me) get over some of their particular blind spots when it comes to riding, there's an issue I have that some buddies seem to share. Maybe you could take a look at it. I've got OK jump technique - happy to hit a modest double, or a tabletop, or even a gap, most of the time. But I have a real issue with speed. So what stops me from confidently trying bigger jumps, or ones with steeper lips, isn't that I don't know how to jump. It's that the trail speed necessary to clear them is a real barrier - there just seems to 'speed limit' in my head, beyond which I can't think about trying to pop off a lip. I just tense up and avoid it. So if there's any way to look at how to build up confidence to tackle features that need more pace, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
Wellcome James, great addition!
Awesome James! Sorry the drop didnt happen... this time. Thank you Loam Ranger for your encouraging approach to mountain biking. Just getting into it in the Golden area with my family.
Welcome, James! Live to drop another day!
I 'd love to see trail build videos, they are statisfying, inspirational, and combined with instruction-like informations, reeeaaly helpfull and informative. Also I love the readiness to communication with the community, so stoked on what to come
I second this. I love seeing detailed videos on proper feature construction. As a carpenter, he has a lot to bring to the table.
What do I want to see from James? I want him to know he doesn’t have to constantly “one up” himself and put himself in compromising situations to make “interesting” videos. I’m glad you held off I making the jump. I’m here for watching the organic progression and experience you have riding wherever you are.
Thanks Ryan. There were so many reasons I shouldn’t have done that drop that day; brand new bike, hadn’t ridden in three months, and then the doubt creeping in after that crash on the small feature. Not ideal, never the less I’ve always found lots of progression from finding a big feature to scare myself on haha. 😂
I really appreciate your message and take on board your comments, im in this for a long & fun time, not a short wild time. Let’s chat in future videos. 🤘
5:33…….. our axe!!!!
James this is absolutely incredible. You’ve worked so hard and through some arduous shit. Well done mate.
Awesome news Ryan and welcome James! Maybe we'll get to shred one of these days!
Thanks man!! Let’s go ride bikes!
Very cool! You know me... I love those trail build videos, so I can't wait to see some of that.
What a great addition to the team. You can't beat a Brit abroad!🤘I'd love to see James coach some older riders (50+) through some gnarly trails/features to show everyone that no matter how old you are, you can always be progressing.
As a 50+ I hear ya cos I have so many mental blocks for even small features
@@cleggycyclist I know exactly what you mean. I can get really blocked on new features, even when I have hit similar stuff in the past. Going to Whistler this summer and I have a list of features and trails that I struggled with last time and I desperately want to conquer.
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland go get em!
Ha awesome looking forward to seeing whats coming. N good to see someone on the manitou forks
I hit Brutus two years ago when I was 50. Still haven't done it since. Ride past almost every weekend. Serious business that thing.
Impressive man. What a great accomplishment in your 50’s, keep on shredding 🤘
Sick welcome to the channel fam!
Great addition! I liked James from the first time you had him on. 🤙
He’s got trucks tattood on his arm. Let’s see some skating😮 as a fellow skater mtb I wanna know more.
Yah, good call dude! No sense crippling yourself - or busting up your ride doing this stuff.
Another day mate. I also moved from the UK to here for the snowboarding and then the mountain biking.
Yeah buddy! Where did you end up?
Welcome James! I can't wait to see what you have planned on the trail building side.
Thanks man. I'm excited too🤘
YESSS! I love James!! He’s so good! Excited to see the future of this channel
This is gonna be great! Looking forward to your journeys together!
Awesome thanks man. Love your work 🤘
Congrats Beth & Ryan! The ever growing Loam Ranger Team has been awesome to watch, and James is 100% a natural fit. Funny thing is, I've thought to myself on several of the videos he's appeared on since that initial Whistler surprise episode that he should just be a permanent fixture on the channel. The channel quality has always been on point, and that has elevated to an even higher level since Hunter came on board. This channel is reaching some serious heights, and I'm stoked to see what the future holds.
Nice add! Repping the NF apparel now too, best stuff on the market hands down.
Couldn't agree more!
Great channel, great addition!
Nice to see an honest video where not all is "how cool are we, right?".... dont get me wrong, you guys are great but is good to see that you can make sound decisions and call it a day to comeback later.
Great video congrats and welcome James. I look forward to seeing all the great content you guys put out.
Yes! The Whistler series with him was awesome! This channel is in good hands. Looking forward to the increase in content.
Thanks a ton! Can’t wait to ramp things up this year.
So inspirational! 🙌 Can't wait see what's to come! 🔥🤘
I'm so pleased there's nothing that big in my area. They eat at you.
Subscribing because I went to highschool with Mcglovin and he was such a nice guy in highschool and now i’m just jealous of his life! Ma boy from the Wirral did good!
Heyy Tom!!! Thanks for the message and the sub. I really appreciate it. Funny how life turns out aye. Hope you and the family are doing well!!
the B-roll on this one! 🔥
Love that Fireweed
/chef's kiss
This is exciting news and it’s always nice to see new faces:)
I already love James
🙏 lovely comment. Thanks Isaac
Excellent addition to the channel. He's always been enjoyable in the other videos he's in. I'm excited to see more content from you guys as a result.
Purple fit is doooooope!
Love seeing this. James brings something special to the channel.
I'm a long time subscriber - and now even more excited with you both bringing your riding 'angles', humor and simplifications!
Question please: Are you guys riding flats or clipless??
I have 32 yrs on basic MTB and hard-tailed bikes on backwoods trails: I have a lot of habits to leave behind! ...I'm riding flats for the escape options. Recently upgraded my ride to a Niner so I can hopefully progress my riding to be at least be as crazy fun and smooth as my woods-skiing skills. Thanks so much for all your great tips and congratulations on your growth!
Dang it y’all scaring me with that title! James is the man! Stookkedd! 🔥🤘🤘
Wicked to see the Growth Ryan! Long way from laps doen at Terwillegar!
Judging by the thumbnail, and James Englishness...I thought you were doing a TopGear/The Stig goes MTB gag
Yeeew! Every video James has guested in has been a fun one. Welcome aboard bru! Keep havin fun out there!
Also, yeeeeaaah Hunter! Mad Lad!
Even though you guys couldn’t finish that jump this time, it is still a great episode. By the way, I am not even a rider, but I keep coming back to check your videos out. Great stuff 👍🏻
The (not so) Loam Ranger! James rips, great addition.
Bro when you crashed it felt like I crashed! Get well soon James 🤙🏾💯 Congratulations 6 years 💪🏾🤯💯
Just know you don’t have risk fatal injuries to have a excellent channel. Just be relatable to your viewers. Most of us couldn’t handle a drop like that, but good job by the guy who did the drop. It was really the story not the drop that made a good video imho. 😊
There are viewers of all calibers watching these videos, being able to see someone think about going for it...not feeling it and walking away is everything. Riding a bike is a risk whether on a trail or in the city. One of the bigger jumps I have hit out at Bragg Creek, AB was all thanks to watching Loams video of the step up on T-Dubb...his pointers gave me the confidence i needed to do it and land it safely. I ride alone, so have to be 110% sure I can go for it and land it.
cant wait boys!! send it!!!!
Yes James! So proud of you brother x
He’s amazing. Great addition. Looking forward to the trail building
Really pumped to see what's to come.
Isn't he The WINNER of the Dream Ride Episode? That's awesome to see this!
I typed before seeing that segment....... LOL
Yeah buddy! 🤘
So awesome to watch this grow and evolve. I love how you guys set this up. Reminded me of “The Stig” from BBC’s TopGear, and then it turns out to be James! 😂 Too good!
I would like to see progression video's for new riders. Here are skills/training you start with to work towards odjectives you want to accomplish (drops, jumps, decending, etc)
When you guys are ready to expand to some vintage riding including 90’s light speed, yeti ultimate, Kona Kula and Klein Attitude, in the greater Seattle area, ping me. We’ve got former wold ranked single speeders, great parks, a few impossible rides and we’re only 4 hours (maybe 5 the way James drives) from Squamish.
I've always enjoyed watching videos with James on them. Well deserved James, congrats!
Well deserved! Looking forward to his content 💪
New main character to the channel? Oh god no - was my first thought..... Hell yes thought right after saw who it is :D Awesome guys, keep em comin
Such a good call to not hit Brutus if he wasn't feeling it. Ever since I got into MTB a few years ago, I've always had the policy to skip a feature if it feels off. Once I go back, and it finally feels right, I do it. That delayed gratification can be tough but not being in the right mindset is how we get hurt!
Good choice. He has his brakes the right way round.
It would be awesome to get some pros on as guests for the a weekly or monthly episode. Do a ride, talk shop, etc. or a monthly trip to a new location with local riders. Anyways, just my 2c.
Looking forward to seeing more from James though!
Thanks for the comment Jake. I’m working on a pro guest/notable industry person format. Hopefully I’ll have the right one soon. Watch this space 🤘
@@Jamesyshreds Awesome man
Seems like they need a good catch berm before that tree..... :P
Nice one! Great idea!
Cheers man!
Awesome can't wait to see more videos with James. Surprised you'd even consider hitting a drop that size on a Ripmo
That bike can handle it! James’ shoulder on the other hand…
"Thanks mum" then mugging for the camera, oh yeah I'm going to like this dude!
excited to see whats next! bummed he didnt make the big drop but glad he's smart enough save for another day!
Great to see James on the team!
Grimace lost weight! Great to see James officially on board with the channel - 23 and beyond are going to be awesome!
This announcement is so cool !
On the Shore! Queuing the vid now.
Great stuff, can't wait to see more!
New to this channel, newbie on my bike too. Looking forward to seeing flowy trails and features being built and tested (don't have to be massive)
I want more of this now.
Sweet! Welcome!
Nice job Hunter!
More! Welcome aboard James. Looking forward to seeing you slaying Brutus and taking us on a hundred more similar journeys.
Thank youuu. Me too, hopefully by the end of the year
whoa, is that Grimace?
Shit happens, keep your head up brother!
oof Peter Griffin stacks while running moment
tsssssAHHHHHHtsssssssssAHHHHHHtssssssAHHHHH
I wanna see trail building, I feel like we don't get alot of that in the yt mtb community. It's often time lapsed and without much discussion, so it'd be cool to see a series on a trail build.
Did he just hit a tree after that drop at the end?! 😄
WICKED ADD! James will be money, hope to seee more high stoke flow that has has brought in past videos.
Stoked for the channel!
