James had me at 5:00. It's so good to hear another rider who understands that a 2 foot drop can be as much of a "send" for a beginner as that road gap might be for someone with years and years of big feature experience. That's why I try to feature all levels of "senders" on my Insta channel. We all should be celebrated!

I absolutely love the message from James at 5:00. Everyone's day on the bike is their own, and even if you don't have your own best day, it's still amazing to watch someone else have their best day.
Honestly, watching my sons progress is the single most rewarding thing in MTB...only behind leaving them in my dust on ascents (they're starting to stay on my six, though...the days are numbered).

James, you went from looking like a purple "Stig" from Top Gear when you see him walking around in the background of the TV show intro's, to looking like a purple Ali-G with those riding goggles on. 😆
Gutted that you couldn't make the big jump on your big first intro episode. But think of it this way - the only way is up!

Love the attitude mate - great to see you on the channel. In the spirit of helping everyone (by which I mean me) get over some of their particular blind spots when it comes to riding, there's an issue I have that some buddies seem to share. Maybe you could take a look at it. I've got OK jump technique - happy to hit a modest double, or a tabletop, or even a gap, most of the time. But I have a real issue with speed. So what stops me from confidently trying bigger jumps, or ones with steeper lips, isn't that I don't know how to jump. It's that the trail speed necessary to clear them is a real barrier - there just seems to 'speed limit' in my head, beyond which I can't think about trying to pop off a lip. I just tense up and avoid it. So if there's any way to look at how to build up confidence to tackle features that need more pace, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

There were so many reasons I shouldn’t have done that drop that day; brand new bike, hadn’t ridden in three months, and then the doubt creeping in after that crash on the small feature. There are viewers of all calibers watching these videos, being able to see someone think about going for it...not feeling it and walking away is everything. Riding a bike is a risk whether on a trail or in the city. One of the bigger jumps I have hit out at Bragg Creek, AB was all thanks to watching Loams video of the step up on T-Dubb...his pointers gave me the confidence i needed to do it and land it safely. I ride alone, so have to be 110% sure I can go for it and land it.

I wanna see trail building, I feel like we don't get alot of that in the yt mtb community. It's often time lapsed and without much discussion, so it'd be cool to see a series on a trail build.
