This track is probably the result of someone saying "Hey esses are fun and hairpins are good for overtaking, why not slap them together and create a racetrack out of it!"
Sounds like COTA
@@nbain66 yeah but COTA is good
Jeddah is that you?
Jeddah kinda cool but damn it's a bit scary to drive
@@thiccrib I mean, COTA is that description but Texas size so for most people it’s either “this is so fun to race around” or “can I just jump out of the car”. No in between
This circuit is why I’m exclusively an oval racer now.
My first encounter with this circuit was with the reverse layout, and that to me, will forever be the correct and true version of this circuit.
Same here
Run Jefferson reverse in pro2 trucks, it won't dissapoint!
I actually really like Jefferson, in both directions, its like an autocross course where you race other cars.
Fun Fact: North America's oldest car review TV show Motorweek (which has been on the air for almost 45 years) used to use this track (in its full nearly 5 kilometer configuration) as a testing facility back in the 80's and early 90's.
More recently they've used the Shenandoah Circuit for some of their road course evaluations (when they're not at their winter test facility, Roebling Road).
@@tomanderson6335 Georgia seems like a very weird place to have a winter testing area tbh.
@@SockyNoob actually it makes a lot of sense. Most of the US gets snow during winter, but that area of the South is more subtropical and stays relatively warm, so it can be used year round
To me, Summit Point's layouts are the epitome of "fun to drive does not mean fun to race". In real life it's an important facility to that region of the US both currently and historically, but most cars on iRacing have outgrown even the main track.
when southpawracer uploads a super serious track guide, my day got better
Shenandoah is actually incredibly fun. I’ve been around it several times and it’s absolutely incredible. It’s seriously a roller coaster
As a West Virginian, I love to see Summit Point.
Summit Point, the not summit of racing.
Always lovely to see a SST pop up here :) I wonder what it would be like if Rhys "had" to do Targa Florio or the Isle of Man TT. We'd be here for hours... ;p
6:36 - The... what? Shanendoah.. river? Blue Ridge... mountains?! COUNTRY ROADS, TAKE ME HO-
Sorry sorry, spaced out there for a moment.
Babe wake up, new super serious track guide
4:15 iykyk southpaw, that line is like purgatory.
This Jefferson reverse is basically the mini flat Barbagallo Raceway
OH MY GOD
I guess I am the only person that likes Jefferson. It’s a nice track that’s simple to drive and hard to master. Personally a pretty fun track to chase a better lap imo
This is the best track to get one of this videos!
You haven't lived until you've driven a Nascar truck or a Supercar around here in either direction.
Keep doing yah thing. Sick content.
I have a soft spot for this circuit, as I raced and won my first ever iRacing race here a couple of years ago. There’s probably some heavy rose-tinting going on though, as I can’t recall ever driving it since that week
I can’t believe you only have 20k subs must’ve subbed around 10k much love from UK 🇬🇧
Congratulations for 20k!
Once again the "Fastest click of the West"!
I love this kind of Videos you deserve more followers tbh
Hey, Jefferson is great! Makes for some great racing in the Vees in either direction.
Ah man I had a really good experience racing Miatas at Jefferson for my first week of iRacing a year or so ago - this is funny to see the opposite opinion!
Another great video! Greetings from Brazil
wating for a super serious track guides: Aytron Senna (Caruaru). that one is a blast to play (especially the flat out chincane on the straight)
Oh what a treat to wake up to. Love these videos .. thanks
The Alibaba reference got me good.
Congrats on 20k!
Can't get enough of those
Just in time for everyone to hate it in the MX5s this week, Atleast you didn't have to drive it in the bloody dark!
Oh my god what a way to start the day. Thank you SouthPaw!
IRL i love jefferson and shenendoah for trackcross... racing jefferson on iracing is just hell for 20 laps
That Shenandoah circuit has a lot of similarities from above to Deep Forest Raceway...
my lad with the incredibly niche public transport references B)
Finally
Currently using a late apex T1 (trail brake at your own peril) and a triangle-shaped T14.
This track looks better as a kart track than a car track.
Welp, I'm like 2 hours from their now, time to go try the Jefferson and cry
At least it's better than the Mandurah line on a Saturday night
such a fun track though. great vid
You should do one of these on the original layout that was used for the Molson Indy Vancouver from 1987 until 1998 when it was redesigned and lengthened too loop around Science World instead of BC Place, its short tight and narrow with lots of heavy breaking zones after relatively fast straights and a front straight that was curved to the left.
Turn 10 became infamous for being the site where Willy T Ribbs deliberately ran over and killed a track worker who was trying to clean up debris after a crash during the 1990 edition of the "Race Round The Place",
"deliberately" wut lmao, those marshals stupidly ran towards his car when he was literally just instinctively steering out of the way of the stalled car they were pushing...
Jefferson Circuit ftw!
LFG RHYS
I wrote a comment nearly 3 weeks ago that he could not stop this awesome series ... thank you SPR :)
PS: If i could make a wish ... Linas Monthlery with the corners in middle of a "Steilkurve" ...
-> watch?v=gA1Vm9JqWXA
Haha great guide! The #JustPerthThings is confirming prejudiced we have about people from the west…
You should do Ningbo International circuit in China
Nice
Shenandoah looks like it actually has a good layout hidden in it
I do know. I do.
ah, fellow knowers in chat.
Hey guys, we’re all in here
Pal we're gonna throw hands over Jefferson Reverse
You should do a NASCAR oval for April Fool's. Maybe Darlington so there's still something to explain. And assuming that there's a Darlington mod for Assetto Corsa
I don't remember ever racing this circuit. Either that or I've just blocked the memory.
Now please do sochi, and try to hate it a lot
nice
That Armadale line is bad news, if you ever visit perth, don’t use it. Thank me later :)
I think it's a perfectly good track, but it's mostly suitable to slower cars. Even slower than the MX-5 which is most often raced on it in iRacing. Something like the Legends would be more suitable for it IMHO.
5:03 POV: You are a Twitter user
haha why's this so funny to me
i dont get it how they make it 55 in formula vee. i cant take corners like them, will just slide off
what’s the background music you use
It would've been funny if he used the ARCA car for the video. Since it was on the official schedule last week. Lol It's one of my least favorite tracks.
Jefferson Circuit looks like a shitter and distorted version of barbagallo raceway ngl mate
