Damn SCPs! They are trying to be like barney, then shoot you when you are close to them... UPD: In the next episode barney, however, will shoot the Freeman, lol
Imagine trying to crouch-jump into the third pipe but there's just a scientist on his hands and knees in there. "This is *my* hiding spot. Now go away."
While the game was pitched as a horror title in it's earliest stages of development, I don't think the final product could still be considered part of the genre. It certainly has a lot of creepy themes, but with so much of the game being focused on action and set pieces, I feel like Half-Life is primarily an action game with a few scary parts here and there; not a full fledged horror game.
@@guyofminimalimportance7 A few scary pieces? I was never afraid at any point in the game. There was simply nothing scary about it, and I was surprised the first time someone called it a horror game. I just flat out don't understand how it could be one.
October has came and gone, oxjae, stop terrifying people already. On a more serious note: as much as I (and every other HL fan) take this game for granted, having this almost cosy nostalgic feeling for all the horrors of Black Mesa and beyond, I still remember playing it the first time. That first, paranoid, fright-filled time. It honestly felt almost equal to playing System Shock 2. Thank you for bringing that feeling back. It was worth the wait for sure. And I just can't fail to mention just how well put together this whole video is. All these subtle changes to the original script of the map are so tastefully placed that they feel natural to it. The cockroach encounter, the unnerving movement of the doors, the sudden changes - it all works so well. I honestly thought that the protagonist would drop smg after murdering the first guard and collapse for a second or two - but the actual payoff was so much better. As a closing thought: does this video mean that this Gordon Freeman is going to be paranoid, shivering, medicine-abusing wreck from the get-go of the campaign proper?
This is really well made, like a movie. I love the way you worked with the first person perspective and silent character, HL really has amazing immersion there.
I understand this is like a joke but now that I think about it, it's _veeeery_ similar to Portal. An uncaring robotic voice guiding you through a set of very obviously _very dangerous_ tasks, without you having any choice in the matter? Love it.
that why you never rebuild destroyed place and it was haunted allready moving chairs creppy technology non turning off computer the resonance cascade its all beacuse of that the place is haounted!
So basically, this facility is quiet a bit fucked, obviously, but you run through as a schizophrenic Freeman as well, meaning more dark ambience and such. Basically a. Normal person that's schizo, I like that he shook at the turret bit.
That hit the spot, after watching the mind of freeman, I gotta wonder how he'd react to all the stuff he "would have" experienced if he hadn't chickened out of the "land on the target" part of the course.

Gordon Freeman's Schizophrenic Nightmare Training
As someone with schizophrenia i can confirm this is 100% accurate
pretty much ratt and gordon switched places
True
He ran out of his medication and he refrains from getting more
"Do you still say there's nothing to chaos theory?" Lol favorite part
He turned himself into a cockroach, funniest shit I've ever seen.
Now we all know why Gordon Freeman doesn't talk:
Traumatic experience.

If Half-Life was a Horror game
Technically, psychological horror is one of it's genres, if I am not mistaken.
Implying it _isn't_ a horror game.
There was one Half Life game called, "Echoes"

Let's just say that the cursed HEV suit, concussions and sketchy first aids are gonna enhance his journey along the way.
*IT WILL FIT YOU LIKE A SECOND SKIN*
Bitch, its half life let people enjoy what they wanna enjoy how they wanna enjoy it
That through the floor moment really frightened me.

Enjoyed the video. It honestly looked like one of those mods like Hazardous Course.
What a great day. First, Crowbar Collective publishes a major update on Xen development. Now this comes out. Happy birthday, Half-Life!
Good vid, by the way, please don't disappear into thin air for 10 months.

This is a prequel to Half-Serious. When Gordon is thrown out of the hell that is the Hazard Curse, Gordon has completely lost his mind.
Bro this is art good job
I love 7:58 when Gordon just dances while a pipe explodes next to him
Resonance Cascade? No problem for Gordon, he's a highly trained professional. But the training room? *PTSD flashbacks*

You ever so afraid for your life that you start bhopping?
So this is why Gordon is bhopping all the time
After reconstruction of Black Mesa, it turns out to be haunted.
that why you never rebuild destroyed place and it was haunted allready moving chairs creppy technology non turning off computer the resonance cascade its all beacuse of that the place is haounted!
