    The Profitec Go is rattling all around when making an espresso.
    Driptray is wacky.
    Lid of the water reservoir is wacky.
    No dedicated hot water switch.
    The Go is full of quirks and downsides.

    • @Nolanreid
      @Nolanreid  7 месяцев назад +5

      Yes it does have some quirks , but it’s perfect for the price point

    Got mine Aug 23 in the uk. Water started dripping through group head whilst pulling a shot. Turned out the seal somehow got slightly unseated and didn't lie flat against the porta filter and creased a bit. Re-seated it and works OK, but ordered a new silicone one. Love the machine though.

    • @Nolanreid

      I don’t descale the boiler as I use distilled water and third wave water .. but I use standard espresso cleaning powder for the group head and discharge solenoid

    A bit confusing seeing 9 bars of pressure on a standing idle machine though...smth I'd definitely investigate...if I owned one, of course

    • @Nolanreid
      @Nolanreid  7 месяцев назад +1

      With heat , in a sealed tank there will be pressure . The gauge works off the boiler not the pump

      Mines got a plastic tube inside the wand, which kinda insulates it from the outside. Not sure if that makes it a cool touch, but i can touch it without getting burned. Got mine Aug 2023 in U.K.

  • @lextr3110

    why the plastic water reservoir.. this is what i dont understand.. first reason why i want to pay 1k$ more for this is to have no plastic touching the water

    • @Nolanreid

      Most newer machines do , unless you go with plumbed waterline and just use braided hose

    One way to get around the 1-minute delay is to steam the milk first and then the espresso. The milk is fine to sit for 1 minute, whereas the espresso may cool down too much. Good review, I'm looking to get one of these soon.

      Wouldn’t the milk just heat the espresso back up? I don’t see the point since there is more milk than espresso, however unless you mean the espresso’s flavor somehow gets affected then I’m not sure but maybe

      Works well for my daily cappuccino. If the problem is steaming the milk, there are tutorials for that. Americanos might be problematic as there is no dedicated hot water, you have to use the steam wand. I microwave water in the mug I am going to use, faster and heats the mug!

    • @and11199
      @and11199 7 месяцев назад +8

      It's very good for milk drinks, you just have to wait a minute or two to reach steam temperature and then you can make 3 milk drinks with it. I would rather wait 2 minutes than pay an extra $2000 for a dual boiler machine.
