I'm 63 years young, I agree with your choice. '55 gasser absolutely! Classic old school. BRE 510 new school cool jdm! I love all cars Domestic, Japanese, European. No matter what decade every manufacturer made cars every one can identify with and love for their own reasons. ✌
@The Lamley Group Can you please answer me one question? WHY MOST OF THE HW JDM CARS (ESPECIALLY JAPAN HISTORICS) DO NOT HAVE SIDE MIRRORS??? There are side mirrors on the artwork of the package, but not on the cars. The Nissan Skyline Wagon and Datsun Bluebird wagon do have side mirrors. Thank you in advance
I like Hot Wheels paying attention to Auto enthusiasts at car shows and SEMA . They listen to builders and bring better detail to their product and its mentioned a lot in the car community. Awesome video and thanks
Mike McDonald Yes I collect old school BMX have 4 PKs one of them signed by Perry Kramer a 1981 .. Also one signed by Scot Breithaupt before he passed its also a 1981 model🏁
As someone who collects Car Culture almost exclusively, and has a burning passion for good old American muscle, picking out my top 3 models is kind of difficult in a decade that has been almost completely dominated by JDM. But I think I'd have to go with; 3. Snake and Mongoose Team Transport 2. '70 Dodge Charger R/T from HW Redliners 1. Custom '64 Galaxie 500 w/ Ford C-800 Team Transport Now that being said, if I had to go with my overall favorite Car Culture mix of the decade, I'd have to go with Japan Historics 2. Without a shadow of a doubt. This was the set that launched my obsessive passion for Car Culture and Team Transport. That set wasn't just a typical Hot Wheels mix, it was a WORK OF ART.
Hard to choose only 3 castings (and make it between variations), but i find much more difficult to choose between Jun Imai and Brendon Betuskey as designer of the decade. One made the tendency with JDM era, but the other made instant legends. Now on RLC...only this year he made some of the best castings i've ever seen.
I'm really looking forward to the Alfa Romeos, however I'm with you on the '80's /90's stuff, I'm 46 next year and I reckon I'm going to need more storage!
I was honestly expecting the 510 wagon, the 55 gasser and the kombi as the top three, I wasnt expecting you to put both the 510 coupe and the wagon in the top 3. I would have to agree with euro being the next big trend but id also bet on electric being another big trend. As electric cars become more common in the real world they will become more common in the diecast world as we are seeing with the teslas and the jaguar I pace
Definitely good choices. I probably would have put the 510 RLC and the Striper ahead of the wagon but hard to argue with the top 3. I also think the Porsche 993 GT2 deserves an honorable mention.. a sort of predecessor to the RWB stuff. Fun vid!
I started collecting as a adult in late 2016. It’s got better every year . Can’t wait til 2020 . Every time I think they can’t top it and they always do . The Car Culture stuff is fantastic.
We need to see this series with a look at this decade and matchbox. Show how matchbox went from the dark ages (2011-2015) and the slow ramp up to today, the insanely spectacular line!
That green 510 wagon started an entire movement. And a shift In the identity of hot wheels itself. This is why hot wheels is trying to push out more Jdm cars, matchbox aswell.
The 22B is a gem, and the bugeye was an amazing one as well. I loved the way they worked the bugeye headlights into the window plastic. It was a superb level of detail.
I can't say "Agree" or "Disagree". There was so much cool castings and variations, it all goes to personal taste. But I'm gonna reckon the Bolulevard 510 Wagon and the Candy Stripper Bel Air 55 Gasser were some of the most representative and influent of the decade. I would add the Mazda 787B, because shows how good Hot Wheels can be making cars. The detail is just insane, and the opening rear is gorgeous
I was in my early 20s in the late 90s and early 2000s. At that point in my life, I was rolling all JDM Hondas and Nissans. So to hear that HW stepped up their JDM game this past decade is music to my ears. I can’t wait for the next ten years.
Totally awesome video! I hope you're right about the new direction. Euro is great. What is sad for muscle is that most castings are from an era when the emphasis was not on realism - and now not only is muscle not as popular but most of the castings look off and even cartoonish (or should I say....old HWish)
The Subie Impreza 22B STI , Nissan S 15, and Porsche 944 Turbo castings have been the latest success stories...what was said about the Black Mercedes Benz 190E casting was also true....eventhough I got the red Momo and Falken deco one....that Black one was never in stores near me and online, it is selling for 50 dollars or more...The BRE livery was better done by greenlight and other Premium brands....same thing for most JDM and European sports car castings....Tomica , Mini GT, and etc...but Hot Wheels Car Culture turned me on to collecting those cars...starting with that Datsun 510 and most definitely the wagon....I am blessed to have some Hot Wheels Ferraris in my collection....no Candy Striper Bel Air Gasser for me...but I have the green one from Drag Strip Demons...Team Transport is the ultimate evolution of Hot Wheels Car Culture..The Fast & the Furious franchise is a great fit...they make the cars look better than Jada Toys did but Greenlight would do the franchise even more justice.....excellent content as usual....I have learned so much from your channel over the past few years!
Spot-on mate! I couldnt agree with most of these choices more. The Green 510 wagon is the car that got me into HW collecting coming from the car-culture world. For me personally the Porsche 356 has gotta go in there too. Also agree with the Mercedes 190 assessment. Keep the great content coming!
I agree with your choices. Very accurate! I also think that we are moving toward a Euro era in Hot Wheels. I've always been into the euro cars anyway, so I'm not complaining :) Great video!
Badass into like always. I like the way hot wheels is going now. Lots of jdm castings and a lot of new licensed models. My top three would have to be 1) Kenmeri 2) Hakosuka 3) 55 chevy gasser
I am a car guy sir, I don't care if it's JDM, muscle, or Euro I enjoy them all. I can't decide on just three, it has to be four cars for me and a first place 4 way tie. Skyline wagon, rwb, 510 wagon, and 510 Coupe. I grew up with the muscle cars, but my for choices are just freaking awesome. The rest of the cars can have second and third place, because they are badass also. Thank you for sharing sir and Mattel keep up the great work.
I like the gassers, but I don't like the Hot Wheels/matchbox way of putting a huge block between the wheels to get the car higher, like we get on the offroad vehicles and the front wheels of the Gassers, that always takes away some of the impact for me ... I mean I understand its reasoning for easy production and safe toy use, but I just doesn't really do it for me ...
Man model of the decade that’s a pretty long time. I’d have to throw it to the c10/c110 skyline. These two castings really started the JDM boom. The hype for these two cars when they dropped was immeasurable. The 510 was a peg warmer forever and the 510 wagon was more desirable, it probably traces its possibility to the mainline release of the c10/c110 599XX. With the loss of the Ferrari license the 599xx in zamac will always be a white whale. The model had a great deco and great proportions. The end of an era. I like the idea of the bel air gasser. Very popular and very Mattel for a hot wheels casting.
takugtr33 Great choices. I totally agree on the c10/c110, and I considered adding both to the video. I think the hype surrounding the 510 Wagon sent it into overdrive, but the Kenmeri and Hakosuka should have been included in this video.
I’m a little sad maisto/bburago have the license, ever since toys r us pulled out of the states I can’t find their ferrari toys anywhere. Even if Mattel doesn’t get the license back I wish we could get it to a brand that will do right by the product and make it available at a multitude of retail locations
Top3 for me are all old school. 1]The RLC '55 chev gasser candy striper, 2] the RLC '41 Willys gasser and 3] the 2018 50th anniversary Hotwheels Reproduction Store Display magenta '67 Mustang. (honorable mentions: RLC '66 Gassa Nova, Snake and Mongoose Transporter and the RLC pink party car Charger flopper ) Hot Wheels are the only brand still doing really top shelf old school muscle cars. It's great that Mattel maintain high standard of adult collectibles for us older loyal collectors. I've been collecting since 1968.
I agree with the Datsun 510 wagon. As much as we all say it's overhyped, it definitely started the wave of JDMs and Car Culture and other premium lines that followed. But I am surprised the yellow 993 GT2 didn't make it even as an honourable mention. Porsches, especially classic ones, have definitely been a big hit in the last few years and it all started with the 993 GT2. It deserves to be in the top 5, if not top 3.
One of the top castings for me is the EF Civic and CRX. I drive an EF hatch and being able to have a toy version is what got me to start collecting earlier this year. While searching for the black CRX when it was released i found a super TH 92 Mustang without knowing what a super was. After learning what they were i was hooked and been collecting ever since. Back on topic i love the jdm aspect of of hot wheels and i hope that since they got Toyota licensing again (i think) they really need to redo the ae86 and make it more realistic. I would also love it if they did toyota corolla ke70 sedan and wagon which look similar to the datsun 510s. I really think they would be a hit not to mention that was my first car as a teen.
I actually agree, car culture was the main thing in this decade, that’s what got me more into collecting, I may miss out on some but feels good buying them but for a reason for example some cars which has a historical mark in the industry becomes a pick for me like Dodge Challenger demon which is the fastest production muscle car ever build and later I found it’s super I have knack for supercars and hypers, I I have the holy trinity of hypers which was considered here in 2010’s era, and I don’t think we might get to see a similar thing in next decade (maybe) Mercedes 190E is a really good sports car and it was a good choice in top 3 as it was one of the cars bringing European sports cars into the scene. The black one is fave!!
Would definitely love to see the European cars get more love in Car Culture. We already see a good amount of Porsche and I think that will continue, but would love to see Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Bugatti, and Mercedes get some love in Car Culture and other premium sets.
Do you even need a video for that? The top 3 are Datsun 510, 510 Wagon and '55 Bel Air Gasser. We need millions of them :) But seriously, i can see the 90's era of cars rising in the next few years. I also want to see more cars from European brands as well, like Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, Alfa Romeo etc. Lots of 90s models they can do, like Dodge Stealth for example. The car market has a ton of cool unexplored models, especially from Japan. Thanks for making this video.
My one and only gasser I ever purchased was stolen out my mailbox just minutes after it being delivered. I hate living in LA sometimes. It was the Flying Tiger Gasser too.
After collecting a lot of diecast I got into the 30th anniversary Hot Wheels stuff then went away from Hot Wheels and I started collecting Exoto 1/18 scale got about 35 of those. Last year I got back into Hot Wheels got all the Vintage Racing and about 40 of the RLC and convention models so far. I have to say the quality is much better on the RLC models some of those would be my top 3 of this decade
Nice presentation friend... I do agree the number 1 choice model of the decade. . But still feel the jdm r overhype... I feel whats missin.... the corvettes.. The grand racer.. Greenwoods.... C7s...
Great video bro You know what I would love to see?????? Well, coming from England it would be AUSOME TO SEE the great 70s escort with the old Ford Capri !!!! Would be great 👍 Let me know what you think , a special 2 pack or something 🚗🇨🇦🎉🎄🎉 Loved the top 3 🏆🥇🎖
I agree with the choices. My top three most desired models as far as price goes are the Vintage Racing Datsun, Candy Striper and the Toy Fair Porsche. Although, the Porsche was never available to the public so does that count?
I m a Hotwheels collector too and I m a Muscle car and BMW collector too I like a lot of the new hot wheels aspecally the Muscle cars and the BMW s from hot Wheels but what i miss is Hotwheels should do more of the BMW models of the decades from 60s to the 90s not only the M3 s and 2002 s i like those both castings but i think BMW have a lot of Historycars like the First 3 series maybe the Artcars ?? and other great Cars 😉 ... that would be great if Hotwheels do more of this Models ...But you guys from Hotwheels do a good Job in the most of this new Castings 👍
Well it is great to see something other than super car fantasy cars and muscle cars so that’s a fantastic point. They can work on realism in some cases though The 2 Datsun wagons in aqua Mazda pick up. Mazda RX3 Nissan 180 green Alfa but I forget the name green Nissan Laurel
I have to agree John jdm crazy for at least 10 years now but u did consider the Silverado in top 3 I mean I agree with u tbt blvd wagon has to be the best pre car culture casting I absolutely love better super better the legends tour wagon the blvd the best one five ten simple and clean my top 3 cars of the decade are probably 1.for me the candy striper of course number 2 the 83silverdo and number 3I am with u John the blvd 510’wagon I hope the next decade will to muscle cars again but how knows maybe your right it will be Europen
Being from UK all the RR and other exclusive lines i cant collect, to much on importing... so it's mainline for me. The car i love so much is the first edition 55 gasser in black. The JDM cars ok, but wish HWs would do a little more on muscle. All the development goes to premium lines and hardly anything into mainline. So many cars in premium lines that i wonder if they ever make it to mainline! The skyline 2000 gt-r is a winner too. Just keep the gassers coming and i'll be happy.
Datsun 510 wagon? They could have used that on the “Christmas Vacation “ movie instead of the family huckster and it would have gotten more laughs. OMG.
Ok...so top releases in last decade. Now I'm wanting to see a list of top castings actually released in last decade of 2010-2019. Won't argue with taste as the Gasser is the certainly the more prized one among collectors with the Candy Striper being an insane easily $1,000 car now on the secondary market. The Blvd 510 Wagon in that great color and rim color combo is easily the best retail release even though the secondary market value is sub-$100. I've always loved wagons and haulers so I searched and never found the Blvd 510 at the time of its release. But I'm one of those stubborn enough to hold out and get it for retail cost or relatively close someday. I think the statement of that Mercedes being the next big thing is seriously delusional as it was a peg warmer unlike the RWB Porsche which I think will far out stripe that Mercedes in terms of desirability down the line. The case is already going to be made that the Mercedes got a second release in that FALKEN Team Transport and it's a peg warmer. I don't see that next purple RWB TT sitting anywhere the same way the Merc Falken has and will be even when the RWB Porsche hits retail.
You are so right but I need more jdm Nissan Stagea autech with front end swap of r34 Rocket Bunny s14 Liberty Walk r35 Nissan gtr r50 I can go on and on more custom cars
My top 3 would the porch rwb it's a fantastic model but the flat black and gold make it perfect. 2 would be the 83 Silverado. Not because I have a 84 GMC sierra looks the same. hot wheels messed up the turn signals, they are square in side the grill on the bottom. still it's one of my favorite castings. My number one would have to be the 16 mercedes Benz amg gt3 . The basic I have legends of speed number 68 and the car culture open track are beautiful! I hated the yellow and black. My preference 😐. The Robin blue with a blue and a easy coating of green flake hw race day is my favorite car. i have it so I get different lighting on love it. I will agree with the 510 and Belair they are definitely on the top as well. But if hot wheels could take the flat dark gray color off the rims like on the 720s or on the charger 500 i find it degrades the car if it was metallic that would be cool!
Need more Honda models like you guys put out the nissans !! I love jdm but u Nissan guys are overwhelmed with Nissan hot wheels !! Let’s fix this Mattel !! Ty 🚗💨🥇
More of every jdm car I think not jus Honda’s Mattel should try more harder to release cars they never did b4 and stop repainting old casting yeh it’s cool but it gets boring !!
Agree. Maybe, we can save the Period Correct 190E and the Juca Kool Kombi. One thing they can do to make this car as desirable as "easy" to get it, can be sell it at Hot Wheels Collectors site, insteado of the official site of the collabs which are pretty easy to hack and sell them x4 on eBay at the second they got them
@@redwhites3651 I like eBay. You can bid on lots. I got a Sesto, zamac Aventador, Urus and like four other cars for $15 shipped. Just got look for the deals
I'm 63 years young, I agree with your choice. '55 gasser absolutely! Classic old school. BRE 510 new school cool jdm! I love all cars Domestic, Japanese, European. No matter what decade every manufacturer made cars every one can identify with and love for their own reasons. ✌
instaBlaster.
@The Lamley Group
Can you please answer me one question?
WHY MOST OF THE HW JDM CARS (ESPECIALLY JAPAN HISTORICS) DO NOT HAVE SIDE MIRRORS???
There are side mirrors on the artwork of the package, but not on the cars.
The Nissan Skyline Wagon and Datsun Bluebird wagon do have side mirrors.
Thank you in advance
I like Hot Wheels paying attention to Auto enthusiasts at car shows and SEMA .
They listen to builders and bring better detail to their product and its mentioned a lot in the car community. Awesome video and thanks

I agree the Euro invasion is and has been approaching, but the definitive model has not been released yet. RWB Porsche may be that model in time.

I knowwww right?
I’m definitely down with the 90’s cars bring them on. Could use some more VW though
Agreed. Bring on the passats and more Jettas plz
Yes, and maybe some more Volksrods.
@@griffinlauerman7793 RWB Beetle!
Datsun 510 Sedan/Wagon, Gasser Bel Air, and 83 Silverado were the top 3 of the decade for collectors
That green 510 wagon started an entire movement.
And a shift In the identity of hot wheels itself.
This is why hot wheels is trying to push out more Jdm cars, matchbox aswell.
Some great points made! I got the Subaru love though so that's where my heart is. The next decade is starting strong with the 22B and more!
The 22B is a gem, and the bugeye was an amazing one as well. I loved the way they worked the bugeye headlights into the window plastic. It was a superb level of detail.
lovely!! but i only have one question... wheres the Koenigsegg?
That Japan historics 2 set was and is awesome!
😁 i just picked up that ModernClassics 190E, CargoCarriers '69 Hako-wagon, plus an old 1998 release BMW850i at a local trade-show!
Can't argue with your top 3. Euros and 90s & early 2000s might be on the rise. Also, squarebody trucks are gonna be big, if not already.
Squarebody trucks are all the rage in US now. Not so much in Europe though. The 2018 Shop Trucks set was a peg warmer here.
I can't say "Agree" or "Disagree". There was so much cool castings and variations, it all goes to personal taste. But I'm gonna reckon the Bolulevard 510 Wagon and the Candy Stripper Bel Air 55 Gasser were some of the most representative and influent of the decade. But seriously, i can see the 90's era of cars rising in the next few years.
I’m biased towards the 83 Silverado. That Antifreeze Green is spectacular
Nice BGM which song was that
Nice presentation friend... I do agree the number 1 choice model of the decade. . But still feel the jdm r overhype... I feel whats missin.... the corvettes..
The grand racer.. Greenwoods.... C7s...
Great video bro
You know what I would love to see??????
Well, coming from England it would be AUSOME TO SEE the great 70s escort with the old Ford Capri !!!!
Would be great 👍
Let me know what you think , a special 2 pack or something 🚗🇨🇦🎉🎄🎉
Loved the top 3 🏆🥇🎖
Been waiting for a ford capri for a long time. Mentioned it on the official forum long time ago. Still waiting. Lol
300SL, datsun 510 wagon, and RWB PORSCHE
I agree on both the 510 wagon for the ending decade and Mercedes for the next.
Mainline in the last 10 years, the very best in the Holley 55 Gasser!
I found that sucker at the very bottom of a dump bin the type with the pegs uptop. Was worth every weird look I got getting to the bottom.
1. 67 Camaro
2. candy gasser
3. 510
I think in latinoamerica the number 1.is the Datsun 510 wagon here is more common to see Japanese Cars.
I agree with the choices. My top three most desired models as far as price goes are the Vintage Racing Datsun, Candy Striper and the Toy Fair Porsche. Although, the Porsche was never available to the public so does that count?
Unreal Stuff, can't argue cause their All Good!
Great Show,,,, I nowadays love the Carazy Stuff Too. Carbonator! It cracks Beers Open.
BYE!!!
OH Yeeyaaah!! 👉💪
As awesome as the Candy Striper gasser is, I like the Flying Tigers gasser even more.
timicus2 I would like it more if they didn’t use the mooneyes logo for the eye on the shark mouth. I do own it and like it. But that bugs me.
Well it is great to see something other than super car fantasy cars and muscle cars so that’s a fantastic point. They can work on realism in some cases though
The 2 Datsun wagons in aqua Mazda pick up. Mazda RX3 Nissan 180 green Alfa but I forget the name green Nissan Laurel
Next big boom for the new decade. Euro, electric, hypercars. Maybe generics gain traction?
My top 3 are the 1960 batmobile , any corvette and any mustang.
Plays song that goes hard then greets with " Hello every one".
lol
The Nissan 180sx is such a beauty, still don’t have the red one😭. I wish they make more cleaner/ stock ish 90s cars in the future mainline
Also hot wheels needs more stylish wheels like the stretched fourspokes
I have to agree John jdm crazy for at least 10 years now but u did consider the Silverado in top 3 I mean I agree with u tbt blvd wagon has to be the best pre car culture casting I absolutely love better super better the legends tour wagon the blvd the best one five ten simple and clean my top 3 cars of the decade are probably 1.for me the candy striper of course number 2 the 83silverdo and number 3I am with u John the blvd 510’wagon I hope the next decade will to muscle cars again but how knows maybe your right it will be Europen
I did a race of 100 cars from the decade last week on my 4 lane raceway
I am old school....Sorry people...foreign out, American muscle in. Great video.
I'm 40 and well, I prefer hot rods, muscle cars, but on the other hand I like all cool cars !
68 nova, all da skylines.
custom '62 Chevy is the most definitive casting of the decade for me ( I know it appeared towards the end of the last decade)
I’m biased but
McLaren P1
BMW M4
I'm 5 days late, but if Mattel is reading: for the European cars, PLEASE bring in the Peugeots!!! I just want to have the 206
Being from UK all the RR and other exclusive lines i cant collect, to much on importing... so it's mainline for me.
Also to add, please more car culture muscle cars. Classic muscle cars that have modern trimmings.
So a Japanese commuter station wagon is Mattel HotWheels Model of the Decade ?
Surf wagon, yup.
I was sure I'd see the Deora III... 😲
😂
Datsun 510 wagon? They could have used that on the “Christmas Vacation “ movie instead of the family huckster and it would have gotten more laughs. OMG.
FYI Lamley did invest in tons of those black Mercs so of course he is trying to increase their value haha
The addition of 2009 and earlier doesn't fit with the last decade theme but some great cars showcased.
For me it will be SGX, C210 and 964
Ok...so top releases in last decade.
Dodge Challenger Hell Cat ( red)
😁😀😃
Yeah the evo 2 is al so my number 1 👌👌👌👌
what's that white Corvette in the back?
I grew up with muscle cars and have a hard time loving the euro cars they just don't do it for me.
Look up the audi rs6 avant. Then try typing that again. 🙃
@@moimendoza2024 I like the euro but don't have that spot in my heart like the muscle is what I'm saying .
Understandable everyone has different likes and dislikes. Hot wheels are nice though
damn that beat is tight ;)
How does the Bone Shaker not even get a mention?
We need Infiniti and Lexus cars to make a comeback to Hot Wheels
what is the name of the song at the beginning of the video?
You are so right but I need more jdm Nissan Stagea autech with front end swap of r34
Rocket Bunny s14
Liberty Walk r35
Nissan gtr r50
I can go on and on more custom cars
JDM and gassers my vote.....
The bugattis are nice
And the koenigsegg is the hit!
Top 3
1. BMW M3 (2010)
2. Audi RS5
3. Lamborghini Gallardo
Lamborghini 👀
STACK'EM & SCRATCH'EM....LOL.....
Intro is💯
Nice! Agreed
I would put 1st the Mercede 300SL
I dont think you fully understand the significance and impact fast and furious has had in car culture (not the series)
No I didn't
Need more Honda models like you guys put out the nissans !! I love jdm but u Nissan guys are overwhelmed with Nissan hot wheels !! Let’s fix this Mattel !! Ty 🚗💨🥇
As much as I am a Nissan fan, I will personally admit that we need more Hondas these days.
More of every jdm car I think not jus Honda’s Mattel should try more harder to release cars they never did b4 and stop repainting old casting yeh it’s cool but it gets boring !!
The collabs are a damn joke.
I have spoken.
Agree. Maybe, we can save the Period Correct 190E and the Juca Kool Kombi. One thing they can do to make this car as desirable as "easy" to get it, can be sell it at Hot Wheels Collectors site, insteado of the official site of the collabs which are pretty easy to hack and sell them x4 on eBay at the second they got them
Hype beast collabs were a joke, Legit collectors didn’t get anything, if some have got, good for them
Does anybody know where to buy cheap hotwheels?? I almost payed $30 dollars for a Lamborghini sesto elemento hotwheel.. because of shipping fees 😐
find a hub and ship all your cars at once to save on shipping
Check your flea markets. And look on craigslist for people selling lots. Alot get posted by people who inherent them from parents who collected
Moi Mendoza .. any apps in particular?
@@redwhites3651 I like eBay. You can bid on lots. I got a Sesto, zamac Aventador, Urus and like four other cars for $15 shipped. Just got look for the deals
