- Getting my CDL changed my life Financially. 4 years ago, I was making $10.25/hr working as a part-time bus operator. Now, I can take home what I use to gross in a month… in just a week. Always remember that you can change your circumstances if you’re an American, 18 years old, have access to the internet, and you can read and write. Only person that can change your life is you. 💯

To many trucking channels are all doom and gloom or just about the money they make. I like your optimism and positive attitude.
Right bro, I’ve been doing it for almost 20 years; a lot of these truck drivers are lying. Company drivers are not making that much money. Owner Operators are even having a hard time with the freight rates. I do like this truck driver channel; she is one of the few honest drivers.
When I mostly hear complaints that about supposedly low pay, I think it must be good company.
Very informative with her content definitely a breath of fresh air
Keep doing your thing Tajae! I appreciate the shoutout as well. 🙏🏾
My unsolicited opinion is, college has its place in America. Overall I feel as though it’s an overpriced hustle. If someone delves into a trade school such as CDL, Plumbing, Welding etc. one could be on a fast track to a lucrative career with little to no tuition debt. Stay safe driver, enjoy your day.
38 years driving and I'm 62 now. I started at 24 years old. Everyone has to learn somewhere. Nobody is a expert. Even us old dogs. It's so different now. You newbies have a great support network and the industry doesn't make demands on drivers that it used to. ELD logs changed so much. Plus, most of us drove most of the night and had to deliver AND unload the next day. Like as in getting in the trailers and handling everything and then go pickup the next load and maybe load it. Or, at least stand by and count the freight. So, that's why we would sleep in the evenings and be up and on the way by midnight or 1:AM To the next place 5-600 miles away.
From being a TE at Schneider for 23 years, I can tell you the one-two years is correct, unless they need drivers, then a warm body with a CDL will do. Luck plays a HUGE factor in ANY transportation job. Knowing how the system works is more than 50% of success in trucking.
I’ve been trucking for 20 years now and my trucking journey started at Schneider National Bulk Carriers, Reserve, LA. The training I received at Schneider was the best in the industry. Glad that you can speak highly on your journey. Good luck as you move forward in your trucking journey.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m happy Schneider helped set you up with a long and prosperous career in trucking
You’re never lying! Trucking have change my life BIG! I’m with Schneider now and the people here are great! I’m 46 years old and I’ve been working warehouse mostly all my life. My annual income is almost the same as you. I’m not tripping. I love that money. Keep up the good work young lady
Sadly, it’s not consistent money. I’ll touch on that in a couple of weeks when I do my 6 month review
Appreciate your channel
Schneider is a great company and honestly if you are thinking about getting your cdl and there is a driveco facility near you i suggest going there for training they always have recruiters show up from Schneider to pre hire and you get all your endorsements in the class
Thank you for sharing that with us. Great perspective
I wish I had been as smart as you are when I was your age. I'm pushin 70. I did do well in the end, but sure would have been easier if I had your brain 50 years ago! Congrats!
I got my CDL not that long ago and i feel like its mandority to do either Regional or OTR to get a feel of what trucking actually is. Learn how to drive the truck and back overall just comfortable. THEN go local where its going to be a little more challenging but not that difficult and more money by making Hourly. Personally i feel like all of us have to do our time out there to see if you're even for trucking. A lot of us when we get our CDL think we're going to land a high paying local job right away noooooo do that time and then you'll be rewarded. Yes some jobs hire you brand new like food service and other not so good sketchy small trucking companies where they start messing with your pay and garbage equipment which sky rocket your chance of getting into an accident and ruin your CDL record.
I agree. Absolutely
I appreciate your content. It’s relatable, it’s to the point and you articulate your experiences well. Please continue to be safe and providing quality content. God bless.
Aww thank you for your kind words. I do the best that I can. I try to find ways to improve on making high quality content with what I have.

I love your gratitude definitely is encouraging
👍👍👍 Thank you! Very Interesting! Greetings from a Semi Dump Truck Driver from Germany!
I don’t know why people get excited about making one big check with these mega companies, because it’s gonna be like one in 1 million and you won’t see any consistency in it.
😂😂😂. That’s why I work there anymore
I really like your channel and can see it growing, keep it up
Thank you so much. 😊.
You’re super dope. Keep doing your thing
I just want to say Happy Valentine's and hope your day is going
So true ! I feel the same way! And have been through the same thing Having to increase my income! Yes I drove my car for 1 week made only 200 😮. I went to two warehouses in the Day time and only 1 person working! ( one was a female and the other a female working in the warehouse with no help ). I decided to get my CDL.
God bless you & keep on trucking!
Good Stuff.. Your explanations are really informative and pleasant.. Looking forward to more content.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Greetings from northwest Georgia, and welcome to our world.
I took my first cross-town run at 14. I'm 61 now. I'm also working on a small startup that I intend to have running by late spring. Getting the legals in place is three times more complicated and three times more expensive that it was twenty years ago.
I wish you all the best this business has to offer, and as long as you stay healthy and safe, and make good decisions, you should do pretty well.
I;ll be around if there is anything I can assist you with.

For a rookie you are more experienced than most drivers I know . Trucking can change your life for the better if you know what you’re doing & always looking to better your career. Most drivers will complain & stay where they are instead of exploring their options. Continue to learn & always be safe out there ! 26 years of driving experience here & I always stay local . Food service will break you down & if you have to use a dolly , don’t waste your time . Go deliver groceries instead , like Walmart , Kroger etc..
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, food service will break you down, but it’s an important job because people love to eat lol
@@Tay.juhWoods 😂😂💯
Fantastic. Thanks for the info. I'm off to Carlisle in a few weeks for the same hazmat cargo tanker training. Looking forward to learning new things!
Bulk training is in Coroapolis, PA.
@@Tay.juhWoods Ah, that makes much more sense, considering that's near Pittsburgh. Also the satellite view shows cargo tanks, which isn't the case in Carlisle...
@@PoodlesInSpaaace you’re saying you see tankers at the Carlise, OC? There’s only dry van training at Carlise.
A lot of bulk drivers park there for a 10 or a 34 due to that particular OC having a lot of amenities. There are also 2 dedicated bulk accounts near that OC. Ecolab and AFCO/Zep
@@Tay.juhWoods No, no... I wasn't clear. I only see cargo tanks in Coroapolis, as you say. I don't see any tanks in Carlisle.
@@PoodlesInSpaaace yes. Coroapolis is a bulk operating center. It’s also a regular van operating center. Schneider shares the lot with Quality Carriers and Highway Transport.
Hello Te'Jae, Congratulations on becoming a new RUclips Trucker, enjoy and learn from your Sojourn.
I have just one positive comment for now. That is keep your curtains closed while recording and also when driving. Just advice you may do as u wish your truck, your time. Wishing you all the best looking forward to your story 😊
Hey there, 👋🏼 thanks for sharing your experience. I'm currently an Amazon driver but I'm working on my class A with all the endorsements I'm going this coming Thursday to get my permit. I'm attending truck driver academy.
That’s awesome. Best of luck to you
@TankerTs.Life.Journey thank you it was pretty hard but I passed I now have my permit and all the endorsements
Hi Tajae' thank you for all the good information you provide through this channel. Could you do a detailed video of Schneider's training? Like a day by day of what exactly they had you doing? Please and thank you.
Noted
You will move out of that truck into management.
It would be a pleasure to work for you! I’m a 35 year veteran of the road.
Haha. Maybe
Shout out to you rookie... The one lesson that never changes is there are no guarantees in trucking... Been doing it for 20 yrs with both good and bad days but keep moving and grooving and stay safe out here and on a another note the west side is the best side of ATL (MLK all day 🤣💪🏿💯)
Haha. 😂 thank you.
Anothony tv and db215 are good teacher. ❤❤❤ I watch day channel all the time.
Yup. They’re awesome
You cool as hell,keep truckin
Thank you so much. I appreciate that
I started off driving working at a shipping company id drive the cars off the trailer & park them, eventually got into delivery driving amazon & groceries delivery since I drive like a bat outta hell but with professional precision 😊, got bored doing that & went to do what got me into driving frim the jump being a bus driver (my dad drove for MTA in Manhattan) I however was a bus Service Person in NJ so fueling, oil, changing tires, cleaning the busses & taking them through the wash rack & parking them or going out on service calls with the wrecker, got to be pro at that in just under a year & got bored. Paid for my cdl A school while still working at transit & was so good in the cdl school they thought I had did this before 😂 offsetting was the only thing I couldn't do perfectly but being realistic u never or rarely will offset back. But out of my class i was the only 1 to pass 1st try.
Ironically i passed my drivers test 1st try after teaching myself how to drive through GTA 3 & 4 😂. I asked my mom to buy me just 30 minutes of parallel parking class but u have to get a whole hours so in that 30 minutes had it down & just drove around NJ for the other 30 😂 with the teacher. Passed my Cdl B test 1st try too so it all came full circle with the Cdl A pass in 1st try but it was sad to see everyone else fail except me.
Now i been doing Cdl A for 2 full years started locals in the ports then went to the railyards then did mail (ironically my mom does mail in Manhattan too unfortunately never got the ability to go to their building) now doing regional but home weekly 2 full days going to stores.
At 3 years idk if ill go to Walmart or just stay here since in a month they get new trucks aka I get a new 2024 freightliner cascadia 👌🏿 upgrade from a 21 which is still in great condition.
Maybe you could make videos of what your experience has been like as a tanker driver for Schneider? Like pay, loads and that kind of stuff. I've been doing flatbed for 6 months now and currently thinking of switching over to tanker with Schneider if they have a good training program :)
Most definitely. I’m making a video about the training at Schneider in the near future. Thank you
Happy for you. I'm hazmat tanker driver out of Texas.
For what company?

This is awesome...thanks for sharing, new subscriber! #SafeTravels
As long as you enjoy it and you feel like you're treated fairly, everything else is fluff.
Could you get endorsements with a “cdl learners” or do I have to wait until I get the license
You can get your tankers, if I’m not mistaken. If you want a passenger or school bus endorsement, you have to take an ELDT course
I just got my degree in software engineering but nobody is hiring new grads anymore and you have to bend over backwards to be someone’s slave. My interviews have shown me how corporate and fake people can be. My dream is to be an owner operator but I just want to find a great company I can drive for because it’s my dream now. I want to do hazmat tanks if possible but if I can drive anything I’ll be hapy
Schneider will give you a chance.
I was actually going to Schneider tanker division before I went with Marten, but with almost 2 years experience they offer me 45 cents per mile two weeks on the road and in two days home...
Marten off of 60 cents, 48 Hours home time weekly and guarantee pay...... so I went with Marten.
I'm sorry but there ain't no way "tanker" should pay 45 cents per mile...😂😂
You must live in the south. The CPM is much lower in the south. I get paid 52 CPM. That’s still low but you gotta start somewhere
@@Tay.juhWoods I do Louisiana... but other companies that are tanker division in the South do pay well.... Schneider is the only tanker company, down south that I know that dont pays more than 50 cents per mile..... and I'm sorry you have to start somewhere with it as a grown adult to have bills.... I can't go back to being a slave on wheels.... play experience while knowing there are other companies that will take you on... I'll still recommend Schneider for new drivers though...
@@randy3588 well if you fast-forward towards the end of my video, I do show some screenshots of what I’ve been grossing at Schneider 🤫. It pays the bills for me. I split everything with my fiancé though.

Hey, i have more than enough experience and good record. I have one failed pre hire test in my clearinghouse but i did all my return to duty process and everything, you know if this is something they wouldn’t not hire me for?
Even if you complete the sap, a lot of companies still are hesitant to hire you, even with a good driving record. Your employment opportunities don’t really change much if you complete the sap, because that program is a joke.
@@Tay.juhWoods thank you for that info😁🙏🏽
Good video I’m thinking of transferring over to another account with Schneider just haven’t decided what move to try and make yet
What account are you on now? Where are you from?
@@Tay.juhWoods I’m on a dedicated account in Albany Ga
I just graduated I got my Tanker endorsement would they hire recent graduates?
Yes
Imo I dislike schneider but I understand their purpose. They are a company that can offer new drivers a diverse amount of lanes to get experience in almost any type. Yes pay is low but they are primarily an experience company and they will never go out of business. I think their business model is fine when you look at their purpose for being in this industry. Training new people
I drive for Schneider Bulk. I made way more as a mechanic and knew that in going into Schneider. Coriapolis is great group of people but the pay is awful .43 cpm and 12 per hour is a joke absolutely no incentive to do Nalco/Ecolab unloads or local work setting up and finishing relays. I think that they bank on inexperienced drivers to save on labor costs to undercut the competition.
Oh absolutely. But the experience I get is awesome
@@Tay.juhWoods I'm in it for the experience too that's my motivation
Thank you. Any tanker ,intermodal, or flatbed owner operators run for schneider and have a RUclips channel that u know of????? I need advice... also what would an owner operator make per year doing exactly what you do???
Nomadic Brit is a tanker owner operator for Schneider
Country just became a lease operator for Schneider
Tanker owner operators at Schneider make an advertised $250k gross. That’s according to their website
Can you get a dedicated account fresh out of training or do you have to wait?
Yes, you can. Depends on what’s available
Hey Tajae' any info on Schneider Bulk Intermodal Division?
Not much because any bulk driver can pull intermodal trailers. There are some rail yards close to coroapolis and Houston, where they have bulk training. But anyone can pull an intermodal trailer.
@@Tay.juhWoods gotcha. I saw them advertising the position as tanker Intermodal so I did some digging but I know I had to go straight to the best source of Schneider info (you). Thanks
@@joeplea well, actually… they do have positions for this particular position… but it’s location specific. But the training you receive will be all-encompassing. You’ll get trained on all trailer types
@@Tay.juhWoods Interesting. I knew you would know thanks😃
I’m trying to get into the hazmat field there but they said they don’t have any openings. But they offered me otr. So who would I need to talk with?
Schneider’s dedicated options are limited to where you live sadly. If OTR is your only option, I’d take it, get the experience, and move on because you won’t make as much as an OTR driver like you would if you were on a dedicated run
Hay what do you need to have to drive tanker?
Class A CDL with a Tanker endorsement.
Are you home daily ?
With my new job yes. But that may change. More on that later
How would you overall rate Schneider?
I’d give Schneider a 7.5 out of 10
@@Tay.juhWoodsokay thanks, think I’m head over there. Nobody would hire me local but them. I have a year worth of experience but my driving record is crazy doe so I never qualify.
@TruckingWithKayla maybe it’s a case by case basis with Schneider. They hire felons. They even hire SAP drivers. Just depends.
But I only recommend them for Bulk. You make more than dry van. If you live near Joliet, IL, you can work on their Ecolab account.
@TruckingWithKayla Local might not be a good match unless it is not a long daily commute. To drive a truck all day, then drive home late, be back early... no quality home time. Home weekly is better for me.
@@timothykeith1367 yeah that’s true. I wanna be local too, but don’t wanna driver 45 mins to an hour for work.
If you want more money be prepared to work at least 70 or more hours there is no such thing ass making 2000 dollars in 40 hours

Schneider hire people from Florida?
Yes
So you had experience before going to Schneider?
Only 2 months.
Thanks for answering most people just give a heart when I need help on getting into tanker driving.
@@finlenderswinney8377 if you have no experience, Schneider will hire you, train you, and give you the opportunity to
@@finlenderswinney8377 if you have your hazmat endorsement check out a company called Engery Transfer or Savage co.
What are endorsements? I’m new
Tests you take at the dmv to add to your CDL and make you more employable. The main class A endorsements are X=Tanker/Hazardous an T= Doubles/Triples
