🙂 Thanks for the update. You need to stay there so that you can become qualified for other tanker companies. Usually u need to put in at least 24 to 36 months without a major incident after that the world is your oyster. Just keep in mind the other companies that pay more are also usually more physically demanding as well. If its available in your area I suggest u also do at least 1 year over at Intermodal because the Intermodal department run tanks out of the rail yards but to do that u need to have both tank and intermodal experience. Make sure u have ur double triples endorsement and go get ur passport which is running 215 rite now. As for the 14 thingy, u need to study ur truck, most trucks u are able to limp around in first gear and or second gear, drive around the yard and find out exactly what speed triggers ur tablet, just keep it below that and u can stay off duty while u move ur truck around to find ur tank, hook up to it, do ur pretrip, do ur preplan, go use the bathroom, etc. Do not go on duty until ur ready to actually take off. At the end of the 14hrs u can do the samething, as u come up to the ingate you can either switch over to off duty and just crawl around the yard or switch over to Onduty + Yard Mode and crawl around the yard. Its useful for when u want to go to the shop and get something fixed on the 14th or 15th hour tho the shop if they are really helpful should bring around the Spotter truck and take the tank in to the shop themselves but u would still have to drop it of course by crawling, they could also drive ur truck into the shop but you have to make sure they give you the Repair Invoice Number, you will need that when the Log Department calls u about the truck being moved offduty, simply tell them the truck was being serviced and give them the Invoice Number and Date of Repair then it will be taken off ur record. And for an example at other places to work heres a current opening over at Love's, it might be a harder job tho so plz keep that in mind: Love's Gemini Motor Transport, 5K Sign On Bonus, $30-$32 per hour, Overtime pay starting at 40 hours worked per week, $50 food per diem per each day worked, 1-2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience. Later on they mite change the hours of service again so stay tuned. If your able to work more than 14 hours a day your could go over to Emergency Tow Truck Recovery for Semi's and Trailers, those types of companies are completely exempt from the hours of duty, they will keep u working and driving around the clock if u can handle it.
Thanks for the advice. I would love to work at loves, but the closest area hiring to me is in Hagerstown, MD. But it’s 75 mins from where I live, one way. Can’t make that drive everyday.
🙂oh I see, well maybe somewhere else thats more nearby, in the meantime be good and stay safe and get plenty of rest, have a great weekend 😇🙏 @@Tay.juhWoods
Forget the drama and the, literally less than minimum wage payment. If you want tanker street Cred by all the other tanking companies. Pay your indentured servant dues of 1 year max. Then bounce and you can get hired by any tanker company out making real money 💴 💰!!!! Schneider is a puppy mill but there training is the best in the tanking industry even for experienced tankers. What I learned from them (intermodal tanker , regular tanks, compartment tanks and the ECOLAB loading and unloading procedures are actually highly respected once you leave. I did make better pay when I was there but I was also located in Cali so the had no choice but to pay somewhat higher for there standards but after 7 months of service they started changing pay and perload bonus pay. So stick it out for the mark and they will probably tell you to leave too, because you will be a headache by telling them how much other companies and can they match. Warning ⚠️ Schneider does not negotiate with tank drivers. You are expendable 😂
to bad prime has that ridiculous 50k mile team driving training or they would be a decent spot for tanker experience. I would go nuts having to be with a trainer that long.

Interesting to hear what a rookie has to say and feeling on work, hint if you can use their policies against them and the word "unsafe" should end any discussion. Question is out of route I know a lot of ways to get around notorious accident or traffic congested areas. Do they allow out of route(legal) to avoid accident/traffic slowdowns?
Just a word of advice: Schneider tells you that if a drop of chemicals is spilled on the ground, it should be reported. However, it is not necessary to report it if you deliver it to a contaminated containment area which all company are require to have. as this does not qualify as a spill. Of course, if there are spills of gallons, that's a different story. Additionally, it is advisable not to report incidents such as scratching a trailer or tractor, as Schneider will classify it as a preventable accident on your PSP report. It's important to note that Schneider is self-insured, which means that they may not be affected by what is put on your PSP report, but it can impact your future opportunities for better prospects. Meaning they will keep you there and pay you low.
Prime has edible and non edible tanker divisions. Everyone is tightening up on the hours. ELD's took care of that. We're set up on 67 mph. So... Even though most area's are 70mph speed limits.
@@Tay.juhWoodsprobably because their company drivers it’s 65 on the cruise for company drivers and 62 on the pedal since I’m a lease driver mine is 65 on the pedal and 68 on the cruise
67 in a 70 is a recipe for disaster. Every 5mph difference in speed increases accident rate 50%. No one ungoverned is doing 70 in a 70 and 4 wheelers are faster on the shoulder.
It wasn’t worth (the $) , not even back in 1994. I did 6 months for them, they are the BEST training company in chemical tanker. Went to Heniff after that, hired on the spot. @@Tay.juhWoods I am not sure about “much greater opportunities” , but, in comparison with Schneider, you will definitely find better opportunities. I wish you the best.
I am so glad I’m not the only one who has witnessed the shenanigans Schneider is up to. The advertised amount you see you will more than likely not earn. I’m currently on a local route and the advertised weekly pay was shown to be $1200-$1380 with 6 months of experience. I voiced a concern about not making the advised amount and even cited the job posting thinking Schneider would make things right. But in Schneider fashion they decided changed amount of experience required to 12 months so coming in the least you could make is $1200. I could go on but I’ll stop there.
lately what I've been seeing is steering wheel holders. Companies love those type of drivers. I work for a construction dealership and when we get new equipment from the docks they are shipped to us in a dry box trailer with no chains and binders holding the load in place and most of the time the driver has no clue that he is breaking laws and it's always the new drivers with the automatics pulling into our dealership.

It varies. Customers have appointment times all throughout the day. Just depends on the customer. Some customers have delivery windows overnight. Some during the day

i was talking to a recruiter then they ghost me im not sure why @@joncaples2624
Yup. You got that right. 4 months in and I’m getting the hang of it.
Whole lot of "hurry up and wait" back when i worked for schni tanker. Definitely got to have patience and thick skin.
to bad prime has that ridiculous 50k mile team driving training or they would be a decent spot for tanker experience. I would go nuts having to be with a trainer that long.
You are such a smart young lady. 👏🏾
can you do a video that shows us your routine as a tanker truck driver? I have yet to find a good visual video of what that job is like.. i know there is a tanker driver shortage so i am interested in seeing what it's like..
I’ll try. I’m not very good at vlogs. I’m trying to get ideas on how to get more cinematic footage, but it just looks awkward to me
@@Tay.juhWoods lol I understand how some things can be awkward on camera haha
I start next week but only doing it for hazmat experience 😭😭
Go for it! Schneider gives anyone an opportunity
As a current Schneider driver I hate when I hear shitt like don’t worry about the money
How tf can you not worry about the money when you get 700 a week for 2500 + miles a week consistently. Can’t even pay bills or go grocery shopping. Schneider really is a slave plantation. 41 cpm in 2024 is fucking crazy. Fuck that I got my lil 6 months and I’m out this bitch‼️
There are better companies out there but you have to pay your dues. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely. Thank you 💯
Interesting to hear what a rookie has to say and feeling on work, hint if you can use their policies against them and the word "unsafe" should end any discussion. Question is out of route I know a lot of ways to get around notorious accident or traffic congested areas. Do they allow out of route(legal) to avoid accident/traffic slowdowns?
@@ronv6637 you have stop work authority if you feel unsafe
What type of drug test do they perform with Schneider is it a hair follicle or urinalysis test
Both

Love your personality. Keep the good videos coming.
Awww thanks. Sure thing
Prime has edible and non edible tanker divisions. Everyone is tightening up on the hours. ELD's took care of that. We're set up on 67 mph. So... Even though most area's are 70mph speed limits.
I swear I always pass prime at 65 mph
@@Tay.juhWoodsprobably because their company drivers it’s 65 on the cruise for company drivers and 62 on the pedal since I’m a lease driver mine is 65 on the pedal and 68 on the cruise
67 in a 70 is a recipe for disaster. Every 5mph difference in speed increases accident rate 50%. No one ungoverned is doing 70 in a 70 and 4 wheelers are faster on the shoulder.
Use them for experience and and move up the ladder, because right now they use you and they know it!
It wasn’t worth (the $) , not even back in 1994.
I did 6 months for them, they are the BEST training company in chemical tanker.
Went to Heniff after that, hired on the spot. Then , I went home hauling fuel. That was the most boring job EVER.
Now , I am a O/O ( dry van). Making 💩 $ , but, I am a free man.😉
Stepping stone for much greater opportunities
I spent 15 years at Schneider bulk starting in 1998,started at 19 cents a mile, thought I was dancing in tall cotten!

That’s part of it. But Ecolab Martinsburg only has 20-25 drivers
When I talk to my CDL students I tell everyone that every company has its pros and cons. But as a rookie what you need to understand is every carrier, big and small, acts the same. On an hourly basis, yes I did. I only worked 50 hours max at GFS per week. I’d take home $1000-$1100. At Schneider, to make the same amount (take home), I’d have to work 60-65 hours.
What time you have to start at work on that account.
It varies. Customers have appointment times all throughout the day. Just depends on the customer. Some customers have delivery windows overnight. Some during the day
So at Schneider are you able to talk on your phone at all while driving? Even if you have a hands-free device?
Nope. It’s against policy. But people do it anyway because they don’t have inward facing cameras. It’s more of an honor code thing. If the wrong person sees you, that’s your job.
