  • Starting life in 1944 as CAV Engineering, the initial site in Sudbury was chosen as the Germans had information about the existing London sites. Sudbuy was chosen so it would be safer from the risk of bombing. Cav Engineering continued for many years before renaming to Lucas CAV, and then finally Delphi before it's eventual closure in 2020. Delphi as a company still exists, but is owned by BorgWaner.
Delphi manufactured diesel systems, injectors and filters. The downturn of diesel engines resulted in the begining of the end for the Sudbury site. In 2015 they planned to cut about a quarter of the workforce, and then in August 2017 they announced plans to close the site in mid 2020 resulting in the loss of 520 jobs.
This was filmed before the fire that was started by some local kids in April If you check out ‪@StraightOuttaUrbex‬ he did a video recently where he went back to see the damage that was done to the office section and roof, check it out!

@@UrbexUK2008 Cheers! That BA training place was our biggest regret not getting in, let us know how you get on, I Heard that they had upped the security quite a bit since and I've not seen any more people go in, so will be interesting to hear , thanks for watching 🙏

@@ExploringwithAustinandThomas Got some decent news! Visited that BA training place today. Some new cameras have been put in the corner of the site and dotted around the compound & the fence has been well repaired, but, it's all still there! It's a shame security is still there too.

Nice video guys 👍👍 if you check the fire extinguishers they should have a date on them when they were last checked by the fire dep. that'll give you an idea of when it closed 👍👍

come back when you learn to run a camera . you don't whip the camera from side to side when you come up to some thing interesting you move slow so people can get a good look at it before you move on. you have to take sea sick pills to look at your video.

Thanks for the feedback, since my son filmed this in January last year we have been very kindly gifted a camera stand from another explorer which has helped immensely with the stability and the speed of interesting points of interest are recorded. We do actually want to go back here to view the place again and see how it compares with a year ago, it would also be a great time to try out how in compares using the stand. 👍
