I love my PS3. I don’t want a next gen system. I mostly play PS RPGs. Just downloaded Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy 9, Suikoden 1&2, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Mana, Breath of Fire 4. I still need more! Only have 2 months left 😱😢
Folklore is a disc based game. The 1.3GB Demo is on PSN but the full game is not downloadable. All of its DLC is on the PSN. The 7GB game is on disc. Folklore could have been easily hosted as a full game by Sony on the PSN but it is not.
I remember playing Super Stardust with my sister when I was really young, I have being trying to search that game on the psn for years, and Im talking about 2-3 years trying to make elbow grease into remenbering the fricking name of the game, I was too young when I first played, and now thanks to you, I got it, thank you so much dude, i love you 😙
The great pickups I recently got on the PlayStation store tails of xilia 1 and 2 and tails of Graces f for all less than 25 bucks..(have no idea what the price is now) 👍🏾
Two of my lesser known favorites are: Papo & Yo (kind of environmental puzzler with narrative, also on Steam) Dead Nation (top down zombie shooter from makers of Stardust, PS3 exclusive)
If there are any other TEKKEN fans like me then I will recommend TEKKEN 5: Dark Resurrection, it's not quite the same as T5 but it is still a pretty good and fun game. defo, also SARPBC which Juan mentioned in this video.

Just talked about this very same thing, i'm gonna try and grab as many rare games digitally I can just in case I can't find em physically cuz of how expensive some of these games are. Games like the Fatal Frame Series, Silent Hill and others plus some other games. I have a feeling after a while after store closes Sony will eventually shut it down where u cant download ur games purchased after a few years and u will see PS3 systems sold with games installed. The legacy games(the ps1, ps2 game ports) are probably the ones I will buy before the closure. Sure, there are physical editions for these games, but they are pretty darn expensive.
I just subscribed and I have a good idea on how to get games that you want without wasting money, it is buy rare games digital while you can, if a game that you want has a definitive edition physical on PS3 or on other consoles, get the definitive edition and not the regular edition! And finally, get important games that you want.
Picked up Dead Head Fred for PSP--have always wanted to play it, but looks like physical is going up in price. Also picked up Neo Contra, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Silent Hill, Castlevania Chronicles, Guerilla War, Gang Wars and Time Soldiers. Considering Chaos Code, Mars: War Logs, Blast Factor and Magic Orbs for my next purchase. I did something similar to this when the Wii Shop was about to go down.

Yea I made a US account years ago and used to fund my wallet then buy PS1 classics. Mostly things that never came out in the UK and are expensive to import. I have a modded PS1 but it's nice to have digitally. Going to have to make sure I have all of what I want and any DLC before the store closes down!

Worth mentioning that Hardcorps also has DLC extra characters! Look your games up to see if there's any urgent DLC that comes with it, as that'll all disappear too.

let me reply to your mentions almost all the sonic games are available on xbox 360 and backward compatible on the xbox one/series, sonic heroes is exclusive to the ps3 store. life is strange - its multi-platform title thats got physical release on ps4/xbox one and now getting remastered now on ps5/xbox series not recomended on ps3. ratchet & clank quest for booty - is a very easy game to import the physical release from europe/australia just import the pal version or get into the nexus its included as a digital bonus. ratchet & clank q-force - get it on the vita because its digital only on the vita, also get deadloacked/gladiator from the store without buying the ps3 version on q-force because q-force released physically. modern combat domination - its on mac but yeah get it on ps3. shakedown hawaii - available on other playstation consoles like the vita, ps4 & ps5 not recomended if its a multi-platform title. terraria - its a multi-platform game, physical copies are rare on ps3 why buy the digital version? get it on steam/ps4/switch instead of the digital ps3 version. guilty gear xrd rev 2 - got physical release on ps4 so get the ps4 version. persona 5 - GET PERSONA 5 ROYAL ON PS4!!! all the "complete edition" dlcs are FREE on the ps4 version of royal! also regular persona 5 is free on the playstation plus collection on ps5 and still get royal over regular persona 5!!! helldivers - got physical release on ps4 and release on steam not recomended on ps3. payday the heist - on steam but i still recomend to get it on ps3. battlefield 1943 - available on xbox 360 and backward compatible on the xbox one/series.

I don't think anyone should be buying digital games on the PS3 store now. Now that we know when (and it WILL) the cmos battery dies in your PS3 and the servers are down for it, you won't be able to play them. That was basically a hidden DRM and it's even worse on PS4 as you couldn't even play discs on it when the battery dies after they shut the servers. (and they WILL do that eventually) I know they have things in fine print in their TOS but $$$ talks.......if people would be strong and start boycotting these companies until they change their ways they'd be real quick to do it. MS aren't the saints people think they are either.......anyone that upgraded to Series X/S can tell that every game you start again on these consoles redoes the license, you have to be connected or it won't work. You can't even play the console (I factory reset my One X before selling it) AT ALL without being online at least once. I'm 50 years old and have been gaming and collecting games my whole life. I have both phsyical and digital games for my PS3, even have a back up PS3. (new) Since the CMOS will eventually die in each those digital games won't be there for me to enjoy in retirement. (at least the discs will work on that system) Now that I know how shitty these companies are with consumers rights I'll be buying less games and never not on sale. (since you don't own them anyway) This industry deserves a major crash until they get their shit together. (how many games discs are sold today that don't even work without a download??!! that should be illegal)
I saw that!!! A great chance for many people to play it. I prefer physical games as well for sure, but sadly there's a ton of games for PS3 that never went beyond digital. :(

The error when trying to download games? Yes! I was able to solve it by turning off the console, turning on 2 factor authentication on the Sony website >> www.playstation.com/en-us/support/account/2sv-psn-login/#:~:text=Web%20browser%3A%202SV,select%20Edit%20>%20Activate%20>%20Continue. >> Using the code provided in the email they send to re-log into the PS3 after doing 2 factor authentication and haven't had problems since. Basically only get the games that are full PS3, Vita, PSP, PSN exclusives as well as DLC. And don’t forget the japanese PSN for some PS1&2 games that aren’t available anywhere else and cost hundreds of dollars on physical. I’ll wait with buying just before the store closes in case they’ll do a sale. There’s also nopaystation. For preservation purposes, of course.
I know this is an old topic but I've been following a website with information about deals on PS3 games, you won't find deals for PS3 anymore but there are some crossbuy games that are on sale for the PS4, and by buying that you get the PS3 version, I did that recently with Zombie Driver for the PS3/PS4, I got a $2 PS3 game "Clan of Champions" as well, check that one.
have you heard about the CMOS battery issue that blocks gamers access to these digital games from psn? I recommend you post an updated video to stop people from panic buying.

Juan, you know where else you can get those Dungeon & Dragons games? The freaking Sega Saturn. That's actually the only console you can get those games physically on besides the Japan only PS3 release
@@PlayerJuan I found a spot early on where I could grind experience infinitely. It caused great confusion for a friend when I played with them. They bought the game just before me but comparing our characters I was massively overleveled.
Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf is such an underrated PlayStation franchise. Part 5/Out of Bounds [Complete Collection] is worth the $15 USD, which includes DLC guest characters such as the Japanese PS mascot Toro, LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy, and even Kratos from God of War makes an appearance! Part 6/World Invitational [$19.99 USD] does have a physical release on PS3, but only in Japan. I highly recommend buying that as well, with DLC guest characters including PlayStation JP mascots, Toro and Kuro, Kat from Gravity Rush, and if you fancy importing the Japanese version of the game and its DLC, it even includes Pac-Man, and Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series!
Any thoughts on the PlayStation's ticking CBOMB? This is inbuilt obsolescence taken to the next level and perhaps defeats the purpose of buying all of these games before they are erased from history. Sony's own terms of service destroy any argument that buying digital is the way forward. The CBOMB especially is a dangerous component. Sony is perhaps the most anti-consumer gaming format of them all.

Dead Space Extraction is a great PSN Exclusive! If you like the Dead Space games this Light Gun shooter is a great addition to the series. Also thanks for the tips with the filters in the PS3 store. It´s a pain to navigate on the PS3.
Here is a short list of games: Choplifter HD, Renegade Ops, Gradius V, Yariba Ninja Gaiden, Nuclear Strike, Soviet Strike, Twisted Metal/Black, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Command and Conquer Red Alert, Tornado Outbreak (my only be physical).

Keep in mind everyone, that even if you filter through games in the PS store, many of them won’t appear. You would actually have to type the name when searching for it. Lots of great games are buried in the store. It’s probably better to search for a list online. Like for example, Killzone HD won’t appear under all PS3 games, and it’s a great HD version of the PS2 original with trophies.
hey man, just copy pasting a comment i made dunno if you notice it too... well, they found away around. instead of shutting down the store cold fish, they are removing games from it one at a time. the titles in most cases are still there but, there are no price, or add to cart. d and d daggerdale is one, no ni and the white witch, some metal gear games. no longer available. eventually there will be nothing to buy there and then ppl wont complain when they shut it down.
Thank you so much for including so many download-only games in your video! I've been looking for recommendations of which games to buy before the PSN stores get deactivated, but most of the lists I found were composed almost entirely of games that are available on disc, DRM-free. It's like, what's the point in rushing to buy them digitally before August, if you'll still be able to buy them on-disc sometime into the distant future, after the shutdown?
I’m kind of torn about buying any or not. There are great games but many can be found on Xbox through BC. I feel like I’m not getting as much value buying from ps3. Sony should move these games to ps5 and match there competition but I guess Xbox is even that much of competition right now. I still replied to Sony’s emailing requesting them to move these games to the ps5 store. I would still like my library digital library to move on w me like it does on pc and Xbox

@@squirtle88 good idea. I don’t think it’s impossible because there are games like the uncharted collection and last of us remastered. Plus there are a handful of other 3rd party games that have been ported over to the ps4. Far cry 3, bulletstorm, just cause 3, amazing Spiderman 2, crysis, ninja Gaiden collection, bunch of the lego games, SF IV, injustice, etc. Sony can bring their own stuff over at the very least.
I know what you meant by Folklore becoming expensive I brought my copy just over a year and a half ago for less than £10 looked up the current price from the same shop it's over £30 now. Puppeteer is a must-have game the physical copies of that game is getting quite pricey and I would have regretted not buying Papo and Yo and The unfinished swan Although saying all that the fact that for now, the store, for now, is staying open after the incredible backlash from gamers across the world

A recommendation from me Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online This version is the best tekken game on ps3 and a true arcade perfect port to this game. This port is 1080p (unlike tekken 6 & tekken tag 2 thats run on 720p) and have exclusive character to this version (jinpachi mishima) and online mode thats still works. I know this version is old but tekken 5 dr is much better than all the rest of the tekken games on ps3.
I bought an Samsung evo 1tb SSD I have 70 games and 300Gb left, I'm using externally and it runs better than the stock internal. Night and day in some games.

Even if the "typical" actions are repetitive, the story, the graphics are amazing in Folklore.. In fact, I don't understand WHY players didn't ask for more .. We never had any sequel which is a shame ....
Yes! The combat in Folklore does get a bit repetitive, but the overall experience is so good it's in no way a bad thing. Can't believe we didn't get a sequel either or some kind of remaster.

There have been a few ways identified to go around this issue, including replacing the battery and changing the clock on the PS3 when you boot up. It's not ideal but there workarounds.
For now no you can access your download list from the main xmb. When Scott Pilgrim got removed from the store people still had access to download it simply because they already purchased it and even if they bought a new system they just log in to their account and go to download list and there it is.

One game I found while browsing is Toy Story 2: Buzz Light Year game. $6 or $7 and it is hard to find.
I was looking at that one!!! A physical copy seems to go for around $25-30, so the Psn has a great price on it.
That was the first PS1 game I ever bought years ago as I used to play it on PC but never finished it
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the last Sly Cooper game and it's only available on the Vita and PS3.

Just talked about this very same thing, i'm gonna try and grab as many rare games digitally I can just in case I can't find em physically cuz of how expensive some of these games are. Games like the Fatal Frame Series, Silent Hill and others plus some other games. I have a feeling after a while after store closes Sony will eventually shut it down where u cant download ur games purchased after a few years and u will see PS3 systems sold with games installed. The legacy games(the ps1, ps2 game ports) are probably the ones I will buy before the closure.
Sure, there are physical editions for these games, but they are pretty darn expensive.
Yeah that's a big factor to consider: The price difference between these digital games and the physical versions is often ridiculous!!

I just subscribed and I have a good idea on how to get games that you want without wasting money, it is buy rare games digital while you can, if a game that you want has a definitive edition physical on PS3 or on other consoles, get the definitive edition and not the regular edition! And finally, get important games that you want.
Picked up Dead Head Fred for PSP--have always wanted to play it, but looks like physical is going up in price. Also picked up Neo Contra, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Silent Hill, Castlevania Chronicles, Guerilla War, Gang Wars and Time Soldiers. Considering Chaos Code, Mars: War Logs, Blast Factor and Magic Orbs for my next purchase. I did something similar to this when the Wii Shop was about to go down.

Im from South Africa so some games like a lot of the PS One classics NTSC versions, I have to get via a US account cause under the EU store some arnt't available to me.
Yea I made a US account years ago and used to fund my wallet then buy PS1 classics. Mostly things that never came out in the UK and are expensive to import. I have a modded PS1 but it's nice to have digitally. Going to have to make sure I have all of what I want and any DLC before the store closes down!

almost all the sonic games are available on xbox 360 and backward compatible on the xbox one/series, sonic heroes is exclusive to the ps3 store.
life is strange - its multi-platform title thats got physical release on ps4/xbox one and now getting remastered now on ps5/xbox series not recomended on ps3.
ratchet & clank quest for booty - is a very easy game to import the physical release from europe/australia just import the pal version or get into the nexus its included as a digital bonus.
ratchet & clank q-force - get it on the vita because its digital only on the vita, also get deadloacked/gladiator from the store without buying the ps3 version on q-force because q-force released physically.
modern combat domination - its on mac but yeah get it on ps3.
shakedown hawaii - available on other playstation consoles like the vita, ps4 & ps5 not recomended if its a multi-platform title.
terraria - its a multi-platform game, physical copies are rare on ps3 why buy the digital version? get it on steam/ps4/switch instead of the digital ps3 version.
guilty gear xrd rev 2 - got physical release on ps4 so get the ps4 version.

I don't think anyone should be buying digital games on the PS3 store now. Now that we know when (and it WILL) the cmos battery dies in your PS3 and the servers are down for it, you won't be able to play them. That was basically a hidden DRM and it's even worse on PS4 as you couldn't even play discs on it when the battery dies after they shut the servers. (and they WILL do that eventually) I know they have things in fine print in their TOS but $$$ talks.......if people would be strong and start boycotting these companies until they change their ways they'd be real quick to do it. MS aren't the saints people think they are either.......anyone that upgraded to Series X/S can tell that every game you start again on these consoles redoes the license, you have to be connected or it won't work. You can't even play the console (I factory reset my One X before selling it) AT ALL without being online at least once.
I'm 50 years old and have been gaming and collecting games my whole life. I have both phsyical and digital games for my PS3, even have a back up PS3. (new) Since the CMOS will eventually die in each those digital games won't be there for me to enjoy in retirement. (at least the discs will work on that system) Now that I know how shitty these companies are with consumers rights I'll be buying less games and never not on sale. (since you don't own them anyway) This industry deserves a major crash until they get their shit together. (how many games discs are sold today that don't even work without a download??!! that should be illegal)

The error when trying to download games? Yes! I was able to solve it by turning off the console, turning on 2 factor authentication on the Sony website >> www.playstation.com/en-us/support/account/2sv-psn-login/#:~:text=Web%20browser%3A%202SV,select%20Edit%20>%20Activate%20>%20Continue. >> Using the code provided in the email they send to re-log into the PS3 after doing 2 factor authentication and haven't had problems since. And don’t forget the japanese PSN for some PS1&2 games that aren’t available anywhere else and cost hundreds of dollars on physical.

I know this is an old topic but I've been following a website with information about deals on PS3 games, you won't find deals for PS3 anymore but there are some crossbuy games that are on sale for the PS4, and by buying that you get the PS3 version, I did that recently with Zombie Driver for the PS3/PS4, I got a $2 PS3 game "Clan of Champions" as well, check that one.
have you heard about the CMOS battery issue that blocks gamers access to these digital games from psn? I recommend you post an updated video to stop people from panic buying.

@@PlayerJuan I found a spot early on where I could grind experience infinitely. It caused great confusion for a friend when I played with them. They bought the game just before me but comparing our characters I was massively overleveled.
Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf is such an underrated PlayStation franchise.
Part 5/Out of Bounds [Complete Collection] is worth the $15 USD, which includes DLC guest characters such as the Japanese PS mascot Toro, LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy, and even Kratos from God of War makes an appearance!
Part 6/World Invitational [$19.99 USD] does have a physical release on PS3, but only in Japan. I highly recommend buying that as well, with DLC guest characters including PlayStation JP mascots, Toro and Kuro, Kat from Gravity Rush, and if you fancy importing the Japanese version of the game and its DLC, it even includes Pac-Man, and Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series!

Any thoughts on the PlayStation's ticking CBOMB? This is inbuilt obsolescence taken to the next level and perhaps defeats the purpose of buying all of these games before they are erased from history. Sony's own terms of service destroy any argument that buying digital is the way forward. The CBOMB especially is a dangerous component. Sony is perhaps the most anti-consumer gaming format of them all.

Dead Space Extraction is a great PSN Exclusive! If you like the Dead Space games this Light Gun shooter is a great addition to the series. Also thanks for the tips with the filters in the PS3 store. It´s a pain to navigate on the PS3.

Keep in mind everyone, that even if you filter through games in the PS store, many of them won’t appear. You would actually have to type the name when searching for it. Lots of great games are buried in the store. It’s probably better to search for a list online. Like for example, Killzone HD won’t appear under all PS3 games, and it’s a great HD version of the PS2 original with trophies.
Yeah it's a shame because there are a few PS1 and PS2 games that aren't easy to find on the store.

well, they found away around. instead of shutting down the store cold fish, they are removing games from it one at a time. the titles in most cases are still there but, there are no price, or add to cart. d and d daggerdale is one, no ni and the white witch, some metal gear games. no longer available. eventually there will be nothing to buy there and then ppl wont complain when they shut it down.

Thank you so much for including so many download-only games in your video! I've been looking for recommendations of which games to buy before the PSN stores get deactivated, but most of the lists I found were composed almost entirely of games that are available on disc, DRM-free. It's like, what's the point in rushing to buy them digitally before August, if you'll still be able to buy them on-disc sometime into the distant future, after the shutdown?

I’m kind of torn about buying any or not. There are great games but many can be found on Xbox through BC. I feel like I’m not getting as much value buying from ps3. Sony should move these games to ps5 and match there competition but I guess Xbox is even that much of competition right now. @@squirtle88 good idea. I don’t think it’s impossible because there are games like the uncharted collection and last of us remastered. Plus there are a handful of other 3rd party games that have been ported over to the ps4. Far cry 3, bulletstorm, just cause 3, amazing Spiderman 2, crysis, ninja Gaiden collection, bunch of the lego games, SF IV, injustice, etc. Sony can bring their own stuff over at the very least.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online
This version is the best tekken game on ps3 and a true arcade perfect port to this game. This port is 1080p (unlike tekken 6 & tekken tag 2 thats run on 720p) and have exclusive character to this version (jinpachi mishima) and online mode thats still works.
I know this version is old but tekken 5 dr is much better than all the rest of the tekken games on ps3.

They are forcing you to upgrade your console to a PS4 or PS5.

I bought an Samsung evo 1tb SSD I have 70 games and 300Gb left, I'm using externally and it runs better than the stock internal. Night and day in some games.

i believe for the BEST experience for the last remaining years of ps3 ..
you need 2 PS3 systems:
1ST ps3 system online only: for only MULTIPLAYER online gaming(racing fps etc) with friends with no risk ,legit.
2nd ps3 system : a hacked system with ps3hen ,cfw. you can play (story + single player) on ALL PS3 games with all their DLCs, ALL ps1 games ,LOTS of PS2 games and PSP games for FREE.

Even if the "typical" actions are repetitive, the story, the graphics are amazing in Folklore..
In fact, I don't understand WHY players didn't ask for more .. We never had any sequel which is a shame ....
Yes! The combat in Folklore does get a bit repetitive, but the overall experience is so good it's in no way a bad thing. Can't believe we didn't get a sequel either or some kind of remaster.

By the way, a quick question : I saw on the PSN store that there are some add-ons (new costumes for the 2 heroes....) : do you get specific attributes with those add-ons or is it pure cosmetic ?
@@TheFrenchy82 I know most of them have new side quests that expand the story but am not sure about the outfits and any changes more so than visual ones. Looking forward to trying them out though!

I don't play retro games as much as enjoyed them as a kid they aren't fun anymore I'd rather spend time playing new games

Why would you buy PS3 games knowing you won't be able to access them when the CMOS battery dies
? I just cleaned my PS3 and unplugged the battery. When I put everything back together the PS3 worked fine. All digital games worked.

Some of the servers should still be online as they haven't said anything about those yet
player Juan why are u doing these videos about that battery CMOS and also buying digital games on PS# before they close the PSN haven't u said it might not work the digital games so why recommend them and buy them?
There have been a few ways identified to go around this issue, including replacing the battery and changing the clock on the PS3 when you boot up. It's not ideal but there workarounds.

Blaze Rush is the only game here that's aldo available on PS4, etc. The rest are either PSN exclusives or were released for PS3 and 360. 😃
I didn't know you can still download the games. I thought you had to have them all downloaded lol
For now no you can access your download list from the main xmb. When Scott Pilgrim got removed from the store people still had access to download it simply because they already purchased it and even if they bought a new system they just log in to their account and go to download list and there it is.
