    My man! You arent kidding about the club life! Once i was out of college, i was done with clubs. Too much turnaround, and too many Pre-Madonna promoters. I do miss the big crowds, but the pay of mobile work keeps my bills paid. Your editing skills are getting better every upload!

    You're right, mobile DJ game requires more work and money out of your pocket, but if you do it right it can be a steady successful business..as far as nightclubs, promoters look at you as dispensable, DJ game is just over saturated, unless you're headlining, have a huge following and producing you're own stuff ..it's hard to stay consistent in this game! Persistence is key!

    • @BayardoRugama
      @BayardoRugama  8 лет назад +2

      Yes its a big investment to become a mobile DJ... The game has changed it completely different now, and these places that open up don't last. Persistence is the key, very true!

Kids, work etc. Question for you and anyone in this forum, I am very used to doing hispanic events, weddings, quinces etc. However, I am looking to transition into English weddings, parties, etc. Is there a website, forum, list of music that is a must have for weddings?

    I Like your DJ bits that you vlog. I am going to start vlogging my casino parties. I get the issues of where to setup sometime. Lucky for you that you only need a space for a table and set up the speakers. I sometimes have to figure out anywhere from 1 to 20 tables. It's great when you have a ton of space. We get repeat halls and hotels. Those are the best. Hardly ever do I have to deal with young kids. High School age at the youngest for the most time. Rock On!!

    I did as you did, worked for many many years as a nightclub DJ but all 7 nights a week! I did this for about 15 years, but as you say the money went down as the "bedroom DJs" came out to play! They worked for less than half the going rate, and got work - lots of it - but they can't keep a crowd for a couple of weeks let alone 15 years! Soon they lost the crowds, and the managers / promoters came back but now can't afford to pay our rates! - Their loss!!! I went back to mobile and radio work, but missed the big crowds so have almost stopped myself, I just go out on big gigs!! I pass my work on to my mates.
    I also can't stand the "Acting" that club and personality DJs use, for example the over dramatic use of their whole body to turn up one knob even having to bend right over the mixer to do this!!! WHY?? is it that difficult?
    anyway good to see you are still working hard!
    regards, Shep.

    Mobile over Clubs any day! Like you said it’s too much too worry about in clubs! Picky on music and what songs to play. And mobile I feel you have a little more freedom!

    One word of advice, the DJ calls the shots in where to set up. You are the God of the party besides who's the party is it for. Other than that it looks like the little party went just right. Keep it up and good luck...Oh BTW, try in getting a controller instead of your cdj's. To bulk of a set-up. Kontrol S8 perfect for mobile djing. Is what I use. I sold my cdj's 2000 n djm 800..

    Cool Video. My thoughts about Mobile dj Vs A club Dj. First it all I've never Dj in club before and I'm not interested one bit in doing that. Big respects to all the club Dj's out there but it is just not my thing. Why? well for many reasons for instance, what you were saying in the beginning of the video about club dj is many of the reasons. Also, at a club ppl don't really appreciate your talent as a dj and they don't know how much work is actually behind every gig. Not into that. Being a mobile Dj is something i really enjoy you interact with the ppl your clients at every gig and also they will tell you if you suck or if the party was great. For a mobile Dj every gig is a challenge you must be creative to stay on top and book more gigs. What the means is that you have to perform your greatest at every gig to book more gigs. Being a mobile dj is a great feeling that i don't know how to describe. I started from scratch as a dj bought me a simple set and since than every day has been a big change. Now is not just a DJ I've Created a Company Called It's Live Entertainment because like i said before being a mobile dj makes you be creative and get better. Thats my simple thought about it and i respect every DJ out there. It's not and easy business respect to all of you.

    Do you ever worry about clients or their guests seeing your videos and taking it personally that you rate their party 1 star? just curious especially with return customers...

    • @BayardoRugama
      @BayardoRugama  8 лет назад +2

      Hey, great question... I haven't had an issue with that because I rated my personal experience of the party, not the actual party itself. Its a rating of how I felt and how the party went for me. I mentioned in the video that it was my fault I was not connecting nor feeling the energy in the room because, I had a 12 hour DJ Shift. I understand how it can be taken the wrong way, but thats what this channel is for - these are Video LOGs about my life, it is by no ways a means of promoting myself as a DJ. I post these video to entertain. - If the people I DJed for were in fact to watch this video, they should defiantly pay attention to what I said because it was a review of my DJing experience not their party. The clients were actually very content about my service. If you watch my other videos you'll see that I do my best to make Entertaining. I also include a lot of sarcasm in the video (Like the Intro), I include jokes in them (Like the Simpsons: Joke in this one) to add comic relief and keep the viewers entrained. That is my goal; to make videos that people want to see. I do agree with you and see why people might get upset about it but, at the end of the day I do this all in good fun, to entertain my youtube audience. Its not really a video to be taken serious. My goal is entertainment.

    The two worlds are different bro i feel club doing is a little more easier for the fact that everyone at the club is hyped and good vibes. it takes a mad wiz dj to get a random crowed to dance its more complex to a crowed who isn't ready to dance and waiting on who's going first hahah. i had this happen to me many times. I'm Gonna Start Posting vids on my channel doing gig logs and club/hot spots in my valley to see if it may resemble to yours anyways being mobile is a little more complex in my behalf.

    • @BayardoRugama

    As always, great production work .. Did both for years, then live remotes from the clubs. Private events are a different animal then Dj ing in the club, also way back in the day before promoters, the DJ brought the crowds. Promoters are the bottom feeder's of the tank. Club owners are so out of touch with their clientele, they are at the mercy of these promoter's .. too muh to type ... have to do a comment video for you on this subject.. but yes, you are on target with what you said about the club work

    Club DJ: You are bang on..First they would say..take 50% of the entry Ticket price, 7-10% of the drink payments excluding cover charges. But any given moment the income of the Pub should be more than INR 250000 i.e $4000. Its not about the talent they care of they all need is income..Ófcourse they are into business...

    I would never Dj in a nightclub. Growing up in Philly I know how you feel their is no money in the club. Since retiring from the Army and leaving in Savannah GA, I found that mobile djing is were its at. Weddings are the best. You can make $1000 from one wedding for about 4hours. However you do have you fair of bottom feeders that what everything for a little bit. Beware of those type of people, who max out there budget, then try to get to do 4 hours for $250.00. Greet videos bro keep rockin
