It was the first time I heard Bathory. I was 12 when I bought the first (Swedish) pressing of the compilation at legendary Shades in London. When I heard The Return of Darkness and Evil I was astounded! I had never heard anything so brutal and so evil! I immediately became a fan of Bathory. I later bought the edition of the LP known today as the Yellow Goat, but the production, when compared to the sampler tracks, was very poor. It was only years later that I learned that the coffin closing at the end was due to the reel-to-reel tape having run out. Almost a decade later, I was with Quorthon at a signing in Lisbon. A fantastic musician who loved his fans. He left us too soon...
