197: PNSO Sinraptor (Xinchuan 2022) Review

Here is a little theropod I wasn’t going to pick up, but am glad I did.
The metriacanthosaurids are a clade of allosauroid theropods that aren’t well-represented in toys or books. Other than Yangchuanosaurus and Metricanthosaurus, few other members have made it to the fore. Sinraptor, is one such that is slowly making itself known, especially among fans of Chinese dinosaurs.
I wasn’t going to get this when the release images dropped, as it looked like any generic boring theropod to me, but in hand the colour application is a lot more subtle than I would’ve imagined. The sculpt even for this little guy is of very high standard, perhaps even improved from many previous offerings, and in totality given us a real looking animal, which is what a dinosaur really is after all.
