6 years ago when I joined, my dad came to my basic training graduation. He was enlisted in the navy and commissioned in the coast guard. He showed up in his dress whites to tap me out of formation. Exchanging salutes with that man in that moment is one of the proudest moments of my life. I had to fight back the tears then, just like I have to do now as I type this. CAUSE IM A MANLY MAN WITH CHILDREN NOW, WE DONT CRY!!! bwahahaha

I do it.. best sound to catch kids attention esp if you have 4 in a crowded pool you want to get out. All my grandkids wanted to learn the whistle but only about half got it.. Mostly around 7yr old.. they just practice trying all day all week till they get it. Here you can buy a shepherds whistle that has the same sound. Shepherds direct their dogs to round up sheep by whistling to them up in the hills.

I do it.. best sound to catch kids attention esp if you have 4 in a crowded pool you want to get out.
All my grandkids wanted to learn the whistle but only about half got it..
Mostly around 7yr old.. they just practice trying all day all week till they get it.
Here you can buy a shepherds whistle that has the same sound.
Shepherds direct their dogs to round up sheep by whistling to them up in the hills.
My dad was born and raised in South America and while in the Boy Scouts, they were taught to whistle very loudly and in different ways.

@@summerstorms1289 Have someone show you and practice. It is easier to do with two fingers. Not everyone can do it just by rolling their tongue.
