I like sweet potatoes well enough. But I found in the oven or oil fried they usually end up mushy. I found if you air fry your sweet potato fries they actually get crispy.
I like it! I worked at a pizza place in the mid-1980s and we used a similiar tool to cut onions. It was probably a potato slicer like this but worked great for dicing onions
I think you are right, the vertical chopper is the way to go. That doesn't look cheap or filmsy at all. Not a bad price for that quality. Great tips on microwaving and blanching. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
I bought this in january 2022 from amazon for $108.89. The price has come down a little since then. I don't have a large amount of strength in my arms and this is so easy to use without using a large amount strength in my arms. Some of the other designs of fry cutters that I have used required one hand to hold the cutter in place to prevent it from sliding on the counter and the other hand to push the potato through the blades. That type of design was very awkward for me and difficult to push the potato through the blades with just one arm. Also, because of the weight distribution and suction cups on the bottom of the Rovsun cutter, this cutter does not move from it's position on the counter. So much so that it was difficult for me to get it to release from my counter top. But I did come up with a solution for that too. I absolutely love this cutter and would recommnd it to anyone wanting to cook homemade fries.
Good idea but a poor design! No.1 Should have an wide elevated four prong base, Big enough to put a bowl flat on the table surface! No. 2 How many times do you have to take your hand off the drill press handle to Successfully cut the fries 🍟? Do away with a drill press handle and have a single handle arm in one swift motion Downwards that cuts the fries in one motion!
