despite Alicia not being in the show...this was a great show geared towards teenagers.....my only complaint was that the actor playing the father was changed wayyy too many times.
Michael Lerner probably wasn't available or was costly when Clueless switched to UPN (the producers of Clueless would be working on a different budget to ABC) , hence bringing Doug Sheehan in as Mel. David Lascher, Twink Caplan and Wallace Shawn also got dropped after the UPN switch.

Even though this show gets a lot of hate by people who watched the movie, I love it. Not only that, but I also have this strange affinity to it. I don't know why. It goes beyond nostalgia of watching this show. I think it's from the fantasy that I wanted my family to be as financially fortunate and comfortable to live in that kind of neighborhood and have a similar high school experience.

I'm a horror-buff metalhead, and boy it pissed me off how much I liked this show as a kid. Its colourful exterior wasn't very attractive to me, but the stories and characters fell relatable in way that I never expected. And I don't know if you remember the finale, but it was incredibly touching and taught me a lot about holding to your principles when the system screws you over. Surprisingly, the ending was super progressive and almost anti-capitalist in a way... Or maybe I remember wrong?
