I was maybe 11,12...East Europe, tough times, but a happy childhood. This was one tv show, that I've watched with my mom. You know, I was tough and everything, but I really liked watching this with my mom. She was always saying how she wants to visit the US and see these perfect neighborhoods with lawns in front and wide streets. I am almost 29 now, live in the US. My mom passed away few years ago. I didn't get the chance to bring her here to see those lawns. Back then my documents were processing. Couldn't even see her in her final moments. Didn't go home ever since. Can't. It's not a home that I left. Anyways, sorry for the long post. I just miss her a lot. I wish I could've shown her those lawns and wide streets.

This was the type of show you would watch when you faked being sick so you can stay home from school only to find out that daytime television is horrible.
This show was the bane of my childhood. From the syrupy hallmark card-esque theme song to the preachy, over-the-top moralising. It makes Ned Flanders look like Jim Morrison.
I've just watched the episode "Tunes" from S5. Talk about laying it on with a trowel. It's rap music which is bad this week. Also, somebody calls Lucy a Bitch and it's treated as if the C-word has been uttered (the word Bitch itself has been cut out of the episode). The 3rd preach this week is living together before marriage. 4th script thread is wisecracking precocious infant, Ruthie, who starts dressing like a slut. The script is so unsubtle, it almost had me laughing. Listen as you watch it - do kids actually talk like they do in this show??
