@BlackVenus Julia got it right. It would be impossible for a woman to be a bodyguard. Yuhu was a wetnurse/instructor from the time he was a young boy. When Ruyi falls to the Cold Palace, auntie Yuhu is summoned to act as his eyes and ears in the palace, since she was one of the few people he trusted (and kept on trusting later on) inconditionally.

@BlackVenus Sorry, but I think you're missing *a lot* in translation, but Yuhu was never expected to do any physical protection of the emperor herself. We are not debating that she was his agent, but I think you are misunderstanding a little what was expected of her. Yuhu was expected to die protecting him, as it was the duty of all servants of the forbidden city, but she had no training whatsoever to act as a bodyguard. That's what the royal guard was for. She was his devoted agent, not bodyguard. Protecting and dying for the emperor was a given.
