I have to say, this is very, very beautiful. Outstanding if I may say so. I know Tchaikovsky would have been very proud of this performance. Also the dancing was just exquisite. Out of this world. All I can say is wow, what a performance. Thank you so much for uploading this magnificent performance. Just love your channel.

There may be details in other performances (Royal Ballet, but also Colon Theatre) which one likes a little bit better, but overall this is artistically and musically the most accomplished presentation by far of this masterpiece, and in a long time.
When Roberto Bolle did this at the Scala, it was also excellent, so yes, since perhaps 30 years. But then Nureyev didn't get the Lilac Fairy quite right, didn't he. So there.
It's an absolute beauty and a joy to behold. Congratulations to all involved and many thanks for making this recording available.
(PS sadly, it seems to have suffered from a bit of data corruption in the good faries' dances btw)

Svetlana's mannerisms are all wrong for the epoch of the Sun King. She is more of an Odette.

    После Бессмертновой не могу смотреть.
Такое впечатление, что танцует механическая кукла.
К сожалению, это не только в балете..
Техника на высоте, а душа куда-то пропала.

I agree. Now a days ballerinas only care about perfect technique, abandoning all artistry for the sake of being able to lift their legs over their heads. That being said, I love Svetlana Zakharova.
