About This Series:
My plan is to summarize the entire message of the Quran, in 30 lessons.
As those of you who listen to my lectures are aware, my style is typically to go into quite a lot of detail. Most of my lectures would be classified as intermediate or advanced. However, this series will be very different.
I want to present the message of the Quran to those who have never really read the Quran before. The goal would be that after listening to this 45-minute lecture, they should then read the entire juz (para) themselves.
I want people to follow along with me, day by day, and recite that juz, and then read a translation of it, so that we complete the whole Quran this month. The goal of my lecture is to help them appreciate and contextualize what they are going to read. This is NOT a detailed, word by word, verse by verse, tafsīr. I've done that for quite a few Surahs, and if we ever did that for the entire Quran it would be over a thousand lectures at least!
Rather, this is an analytical summary - it is 'basic' in that I'm not going to go into academic details, but to prepare this 'basic' summary will require quite a lot of work (as those who know, know!).
Hafiz Sajjād joins me to recite a section of that juz (around ten minutes) so that we do get a taste of the beauty of the original as well.
I hope that this series will be of benefit, and that it will increase our love for this Divine Book! I ask Allah to bless me with sincerity and to guide me to what is best!

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with Dr. Yasir Qadhi's Library Chats and watch the video on this very topic. There is a bit of a controversy in early Islamic period on whether the son to be sacrificed was Ishaq [AS] or Ismail [AS]. He basically provides evidence on both sides in an academic manner, but himself personally leans toward the son being Ismail [AS]. Nevertheless, for someone to say Ishaq [AS], it could still not be called an error, because Allah hu Aalam.

*“Give glad tidings of forgiveness and honorable reward.”*
Surah Yasin, Verse 26 - 27 days:
*”I wish my people knew of how my Lord forgiven me and made me honored.”*

Regarding sacrifice of Prophet Ismael. Either this video should be edited or somewhere in the description it should be mentioned that Shaykh had made a mistake. We are all humans we all make mistakes. My concern is that our future generation will watch or listen to this video and think that it was Isaac AS rather then Ismael AS. Some of us don't have enough knowledge.
BTW I've been listening to these lectures for past year and love them.

Aslm alkm jami3n wa Ramadhan Mbrk to all of you insha Allah, Jzkallahu kher ya Sheikh I really enjoy this video the way you have explained the surah Yasin etc ., its great to hear this because during recitation I can now actually visualize the ayahs and appreciate them better, Alhamdulilah. I'm also finding it so difficult to see how anyone can be that foolish or blind to not believe in the creator? as you said one needs to just observe himself or herself to see the truth and yet they still act arrogant and blind to accept the truth? isn't it amazing that most of these people may look or sound intelligent but in my opinion they are the most stupid people to not even recognize the truth? I know Innallaha laa yughayyiru maa biqoumin hatta yughoyyiru maa bianfusihim. (Ar-Ra'd: 11) because of the free will that has been bestowed upon us but then as a humanbeing I pity them and so always pray for my fellow beings to see the light insha Allah.

All these years I’ve read it was Ismail AS as and today in your talk you mention It was Ishaq AS. Please can you give me the correct narrative. جزاك الله خيراً
The more correct opinion is that the son was Ismail, not Ishaq.

slowtideblues I think it’s majorly Mustafa Khattab’s translation. You can find it in alim.org. There is option to compare different translations also.

Witr-
Pray the 2 rakaats as you normally pray your two units .Then Attahiyyat only and rise and pray SURAH FATIHAH AND ANY SHORT SURAH OR SHORT 3 VERSES .Then raise your hand and say À.....Akbar and pray DUA QUNOOT and go in to the ruku and finish the prayer with 2 sandals and Qa'dah Akhirah.
This is the hanafi fiqh of witr prayer .

It is not necessary to pray witr with tahajjud. You can do that in Isha but the if witr is left hen that motivates you to get up for the tahajjud .That's why its recommended to pray witr with tahajjud as witr is wajib prayer and not praying it would be a major sin.
