About 10 years ago I asked the cable company to temporarily shut my service off for 6 months while I was taking a couple classes. When I graduated I had no desire to ever watch TV again!! Clearly RUclips has become its replacement, because I love to watch watch a lot of sermons, cooking recipes, DIY, and minimalism lifestyles. I pray that as I fast from RUclips that I will be able to dedicate that time to prayer
The Lord spoke to me plainly a few years ago, He said, Redeem the time, for the days are evil!! Ephesians 5:16 At the time I had just finished praying for my Children, something I then realized that I wasn't taking as much time doing. I had become "hooked " on playing stupid games on my computer. I suppose that it really doesn't matter what it is that you are wasting your time on...like Pastor Tim said and I can attest to, time goes by so fast and it seems to go faster and faster the older you get. I am now 73 years old. The pain and visible downhill slide started for me after my 69th birthday. Before that, people could not believe how old I was. Now, only 4 years later, that is not the case. I say all of this to testify to the fact that time goes by so fast and we cannot waste any of it. There is a time for fun, but the Lord has to be First. Do not neglect your time with Him.......
Thank you Pastor Tim for your guidance in "Dealing With Idols That Creep Into Our Lives ". Very challenging indeed. I liked the interaction of the brethren in the discourse, particularly those I could hear clearly. Idol worship should be at the forefront of every true follower of Jesus to consider in their own lives, There is a reason God placed it in the highest order in The Ten Commandments. We all know a sin is a sin is a sin.. When anything at ALL becomes all consuming in our lives above God then it must be an idol that God detests because it is drawing His child away from Him - Satan's obvious snare for each one of us is to do this often very slowly and surreptitiously. From my experience of sin in my own life is that when it becomes consuming me to the point of grieving God then one must turn from it,. Turning from sin is never possible in our 'own self' without Christ centred in us. It is only when we are "In Christ" that we are able to fight off those sins that desire to consume us and lead us away from God. Without Christ to assist us we are helpless slaves to sin. Idols that cause us to sin are anything that consumes our lives (Hearts, Minds, Body and Soul) over God. Families, careers, money, greed, lust, pride, arrogance, ego, physique etc etc etc can be idols in our walk with Christ unless we are attuned to Christ by prayer, His Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the brethren. Lord, at 72 years of age how well you have taught me this too often levelling me to fall on my face in repentance. Praise God your Holy Spirit counsels and guides me lovingly back to you !
Timely, convicting, and blessed message. Thank you for shooting it straight and sharing with me what I felt was a high priority word for my life right now. I have been far too passive in some areas of my life and I need to have an honest assessment of what is and isn't idolatrous. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, God bless you all.

Moses was in his eighties when our Lord used him to free and led His people. Our Father, our Maker, the One who before the foundation of the Earth KNEW us drew us gave us our days. He is sovereign, an artistan of souls creating dust to be like His beloved son. In every season He directs His own to accomplish what He has planned, throughout various seasons and trials we shed self as we are humbled (tamed) and empowered by the Holy Spirit. When we are weak (we decrease) then you are strong (you increase). His TRUE LOVE manifested in us never fails. He leads, we follow, as we remain part of the vine that is Christ. He is the sap within that gives us the ability to fight "to hack" because true love cares passionately for the subject of that love, so much to want to forsaken anything that hinders it's glow in our lives. The light that glows is intimacy, communion. Dearest Father God thank you for placing in each of your redeemed soul, the potential and ability to love you more than we love ourselves and out this may your son our precious Lord Jesus shine brightly through our lives as you see fit wherever in this life where you've placed us. Please Lord teach/train (discipline) us to trust in your abilities and to ask believing, for us to be pliable clay your hands as we are filled as we are being renewed each day by The Holy Spirit. Help us to bless you with our obedience and sweet dependence on you that comes from deep wellsprings of love for you as we grow to know who you are more fully and so we will be those who worship you in Spirit and always in your truth from our minds/hearts outwards with much appreciation and thanksgiving. I admit i have been wondering whether i should rid myself of most of my arts and craft supplies. For some reason, i get convicted for even having some of them. I admit, i watch a lot of youtube- but mostly only sermons, and Christian content. But i also watch some art and craft videos, and cooking shows. I enjoy listening to sermons in the backround while doing art, and most of my arts are Christian based. But still, theres a convition that i could be doing more for Christ. I admit, i'm addicted to the screen. I always analyze myself if i have any idols in my heart otherthan Christ, maybe i do it too much. But i know there is nothing more important that having Christ be all in all. I am still grateful tho to have access to such great preachers, pastors and speakers.
The Spirit of God will convict a believer. The fact that one is concerned about something being an idol is actually a good thing. That's the Spirit. Pay attention to that. God is patient. 💙
For me, it has taken a very long time and the long-suffering of God towards me to realize the truth of Gal 2:20. I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Really. Understand believe the truth of God's word Christ lives in you and you died on the cross when Christ die for your sin. Live Christ.
The 15 minute solution: I Am often overwhelmed by the enormity of a task or a mile long to-do list...and so this is something that helps. I set a timer for 15 minutes and do what I've been putting off . You'll be surprised how easy it is to do! Even in Bible reading it makes a huge difference in my life! Can you imagine how different the world would be if everyone read the Bible 15 minutes everyday? I give no conviction on this as lots of us err in this area- only an effective starting point😏. And to busy moms...this also works in house cleaning especially if your children are older because the kids can put in 15 min. as well.
I was fit until I turned 50, then suddenly I developed degenerative disc disease and hard core arthritis..Now I can't workout. It is definitely a humility learning trial.

Very good question. Let us not forget in Roman's that whatever isnt done in faith is sin. I get the feeling that he's feeling convicted because he can't do it in faith, and therefore it's sin. The culture says it's okay to spend our time on the internet and playing video games all the time and what not, but The Lord wants better for us. Continue to pray and ask The Lord man, but also remember these desires are waging war against your soul (1 Peter). The more you give in to the flesh, the more you will reap death. But thankfully, the more you are led by The Spirit, the more you will reap life! We have to take it serious.
Also remember The Lord loves us and doesn't leave us to ourselves. Just take it moment by moment, making conscious decisions to walk according to The Spirit and not of the flesh. We must build habits of obedience. It's worth it. And if you do pray and feel The Lord leading you away from these things, it's only because He has better plans. :-) Blessings ✊

I need to be lifted up in prayer because I know I am definitely being tested to see if I will continue in Faith or fall. I say this because first we were dealing with lice we ended up shaving then I was robbed I prayed the person would repent so God can forgive then the miscarriage now my cat is showing signs of dumb non aggressive tabbies she won't eat drink water she sleeps we are all joking I'll be falsy accused next.
I know this is a long reply, but it will help! Please read it. This helped me greatly! Reading the Bible daily. Praying to be filled with the Holy spirit daily. And fasting and prayer. Heres how I fast it: Lets say in a day I eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. On the day of fasting, I would eat Breakfast, skip Lunch and eat Dinner. Instead of eating lunch, I would drink only water, read my bible and pray. Then from there you can work your way up. Do a 12 hour period of no food and just water. This is also a great way for breaking mental strongholds and can help with anxiety and depression etc. A few tips: When fasting, pray to be filled with the Holy spirit and read your bible as much as possible. If you are struggling with fear or you are not as bold as you would like to be, when it comes to witnessing, fasting and prayer is a great way to overcome those struggles. God Bless

I know that we are justified by faith alone in Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Rom 3:21-28; 4:4-5; 5:1) but I doubt that I have that true faith. Many of you don’t know the terror and the suffering that I have been through. Men like John Bunyan and Charles Spurgeon are those who truly knew what it was like to feel themselves under the wrath of God. Spurgeon himself said that he might have committed suicide because of the sorrow he was going through in feeling himself under God’s wrath if it weren’t for Romans 10:13.
JESUS CHRIST is King of Kings And by the way, usually the same people who are like that are those who have not even been through those dark waters that others have been through. Talk to Martin Luther on why he saw justification by faith alone as essential. It’s because he spent more than a decade of his life in an Augustinian Monastery trying to find peace with God by his own works and never found it until he finally was set free by faith in Christ.

So why do you think you’re going to hell? Because I feel that it was a blank statement due to your lack of assurance. Just keep fighting the good fight and stay close to God. I’ve felt tremendous terror in my life time that left me sweating crying and out of breathe due to the immense intensity. If it wasn’t for this terror I would have never came to Christ and been forgiven. The wrath is a blessing when you learn from it.
