the yellowish switch tip is there because the late 50s/early 60s jazzmasters would have had a catalin switch tip that yellows over time to become an amber color.
The riffage took me back to my Pete and Pete Childhood and your unmitigated joy put wind into my sails. It’s so awesome to see you connect so well with the the new JM!
I just got this guitar a week ago, same color, same model. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I decided to take a risk and get this guitar. And my reaction was the same as you… I was shocked. This guitar is very very good, the pickups sound absolutely fantastic, the fretwork is very nice (fret ends are not rolled, but still very nicely done). And the edges of the fretboard are very nicely rolled. I am beyond impressed, I wanted the jazzmaster sound which is why I got this, but this guitar truly exceeded all my expectations.
Hello there. Just wanted to chime in regarding the Jazzmaster showcased in this video. Having never tried one in the previous decades, I took an interest in Jazzmasters a few years ago and picked up a Vintera I in ice blue metallic. It totally changed my approach to playing and would now be the last guitar I'd ever sell. My Fender Strat, Gibson SG, and MIJ ESP Eclipse II would all go first. Preferring to support local brick & mortar shops, I recently ordered the desert sand Vintera II through a store here in New England. The genuine look of joy on your face upon playing this guitar was definitely a contributing factor in my buying another instrument I do not need. Very nice channel, thank you and keep going.
It's ironic that Jazz players back then said they couldn't play on it, but you just proved them wrong. Instead of the upscale market Leo was hoping for it ended up being the go to guitar for teenage Surf bands everywhere!😄👍👍
I kinda think he overthought it! Jazz cats already had an affinity for a certain type of guitar, and this was so different from those. Makes sense that a newer genre would be drawn to a newer kind of instrument.
When i began collecting guitars, i never considered a JM until i realized i didn't own one. I felt silly waiting so long to buy one because it is a great guitar. I love my Squier 70's JM!!!
What a beautiful 50s Jazz you got there, I've got the Squier 70s vibe one love it .Just order the V.W. Jaguar cant wait to it play, Fender Vintera 2 series is just too cool keep rocking 😎🎸👍
My made-in-Mexico Vintera Jazzmaster arrived with more problems than any other guitar I have ever purchased (including Yamaha, Schecter, Danelectro, Ibanez, and even my lowest-end $150 Squier had better quality-control than this)
Played one of the 60's strats yesterday, felt great! My taste in guitars is almost completely modern so I didn't expect to like it, but it played like butter and was fine QC wise. Seems like they're onto a winner with these
I sincerely hope the improved QC, especially in regards to the frets, is representative of most of the guitars currently shipping. That would be a marked improvement over what we've unfortunately come to expect over the last few years.
Yep. My recent Vintera Jazzmaster is the most expensive guitar I've ever purchased... and also the most disappointing. Its factory setup & QC is lower than my $150 Squier Bullet telecaster... improperly filed nut, improperly treated/lacquered headstock (they went partway onto the fretboard!) This purchase has probably turned me off from ever buying any Fender product ever again.
I remember playing the vintera I Jazzmaster with pao ferro and I couldn't take it and I never tried the vintera II series. I was also not a fan of rosewood for years, tried on a fender vintage jaguar(which the Jaguar is my alltime favorite guitar), also on strats which I struggled for years to play on it, cos of the grain of the wood let my played like a beginner, same goes for the les paul standart 2006 or 2009. When I owned my crafted in japan jaguar, the rosewood wasn't an issue, but I enjoyed for years my strat mapleneck on a telecaster, which is a frankenstein thing. This Jazzmaster sounds really incredible and really cool licks you play on it😃impressed of the countryish picking tunes you played🙂

Pretty classic tone idea- low tone knob and a fuzz- variations of this by Clapton, Eric Johnson, He died etc. Rhythm circuit is great for instant access to that concept
I tend to line up the rhythm and lead circuit so they have the same tone and volume, and then I tweak the lead to sound different at the same volume so I won't have too many bad surprises like volume jump when I switch. But I still prefer the shorter scale on the Jaguar, etc.
Also, I still don't quite know what is the difference between the 50s and 60s pickups since I haven't seen anybody do a proper head-to-head yet BUT supposedly the JM pickups are preety much all wound incorrectly to original spece previously, so maybe this one is closer and less "hot"?
Nice Jazzmaster. I like the look of it, and it sounds fantastic too. Clearly plays well, judging by the guitar face with the pick stuck out, heh. Love to see folks lost in an instrument. I’m fairly new to Jazzmasters, but I love using the rhythm circuit. I tend to set it to a nice warm tone to lay chords down for a loop, then switch to the regular circuit to noodle over. Thanks for the demo. Hope you get to enjoy this one for a while.
Great country playing! Was it from a lesson from the Anyone Can Play Guitar channel? I feel like I may have learned those licks from that channel too……
Does it manage to stay in tune? I had an American Jazz years ago, with those saddles. I couldn’t get on with it, with the strings constantly jumping out.

I’ve just picked this up and am incredibly happy with the quality and sound through an amp. However, the bridge does have buzz, likely from the saddle screws. Anyone else experiencing this? What is the best fix?

My Squier Jazzmaster needed some serious work at the shop to get the intonation stable, but I’d hope a Fender branded one had more care put into it at the factory.
Is there much difference from the first series of Vinteras? I mostly dig my Vintera Jazz, especially after swapping the stock bridge for a Mustang bridge.
The original vintera is based on a '60s JM rather than a '50s. Different colors, matching headstock, the neck profile might be a little different. The big thing that a lot of folks will consider is that the ii has rosewood fingerboard, the original has pau ferro. Looks like they both have synthetic bone nuts according to the website, though I swear I was told the ii wasn't synthetic...hmm

Pretty crazy how these are almost as much as I got my am pro ii for with a slight discount when they came out 😮 Really wish fender would up their paint colors tho. These look exactly like the squier anniversary ones 😔
So I actually do have the Squier anniversary and in person they're very different. satin/matte vs gloss, the tinting on the squier neck is way darker, no amber toggle on the squire. Going to do a full side-by-side with a special guest if everything goes right! I would 100% expect them to do more colors in the future. Unfortunately, my recent Vintera Jazzmaster is the most poorly produced and setup guitar I've ever encountered... despite being the most expensive one I have bought! Improperly filed nut (high e string popping out constantly), shoddy lacquer/coat job on the headstock, causing the coating to go halfway down the first couple of frets and then stop right on the fretboard. Really disappointing. Completely unacceptable, actually, when Fender is supposed to be the "top-shelf" brand name... and it has turned me off from ever buying another Fender product again. This is probably the first and last Fender guitar I will ever own (meanwhile, I have had no problems with my Squiers that were 1/4 the price!) @@Lomoholga2, I would be surprised if they do. Of the 226 electrics (Fender, Squire, bundles, etc.) currently listed on the Fender website, just 7 are left-handed. It's just not a priority for them. And with their backlog of inventory and other issues, I do not see this being something they care much about. 🤷♂
@@craigbragg2842 TWO of the most iconic Fender guitar players were left handed as well.
I’m a normal person and don’t have that genetic defect (thank goodness) but I feel your pain as many family members are left handed.
(All joking aside and seriously Fender should be ashamed to only have 7 left hand models with their history c’mon Fender)
@@Lomoholga2, I am actually ambidextrous, and tried playing guitar right-handed, and I struggled so much to feel comfortable doing it. So I tried playing left-handed, and now I still struggle, but for entirely different reasons 😆
Faulty wiring??
...no?
@@GetOffset It was a joke..."shocked me",...get it?
lol I gotchu now haha
I don’t care for jazzmasters but those pups sound fantastic.
Polaris!
You got it!
The blurred box is 100% distracting.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Unfortunately, my recent Vintera Jazzmaster is the most poorly produced and setup guitar I've ever encountered... despite being the most expensive one I have bought! Improperly filed nut (high e string popping out constantly), shoddy lacquer/coat job on the headstock, causing the coating to go halfway down the first couple of frets and then stop right on the fretboard. Really disappointing. Completely unacceptable, actually, when Fender is supposed to be the "top-shelf" brand name... and it has turned me off from ever buying another Fender product again. This is probably the first and last Fender guitar I will ever own (meanwhile, I have had no problems with my Squiers that were 1/4 the price!) Other recent guitars I've purchased (which cost less, I might add) have been much higher quality, including Schecter and Yamaha...
Was it a vintera I or vintera II?
@@trailingupwards Original Vintera... sounds like Vintera II might be better, but hard to trust Fender now...
Not convinced. Way expensive for sound/quality, overall performance is low.
👌🇦🇹👍🎯🧐😯🤠🎸❤️😁
Remember the Mexicans made the original Fender guitars in California.
